• 16 calls a day for cases & inquiries• 96% calls are answered or returned
within 1 business day• Case loads of 8-22 each planner
• Average case load of 13.6 cases• 12 committees and commissions• Plus counter duty• PLUS building permit review

• To better do our building permit review…we need to be more efficient in order to be more effective.

We are looking to provide:• Predictable timelines• Consistent high quality service• Better analysis to support decisions• Be better prepared at hearings • Better address public concerns
before problems arise• Reduce opposition to projects at
public hearings• (reduce the number of hearings?)

Timeline changes we are working towards:• Public comment period. • Agency review period.
• Comprehensive staff report.
• Better quality control review.
• Give the Planning Commission more time to review the report.
