Household of Queen Charlotte 1761-1818

In 1761 Queen Charlotte was allowed £50,000 on the Civil List for household expenses. This rose to £58,000 per annum by 1788. By 1816, this figure was exceeded by over £20,000, paid by royal sign manual out of the Civil List.1
