CARE INSTRUCTIONS

To help ensure that your product maintains a beautiful appearance and long lifetime, you should follow the instructions below, regarding care and maintenance.

Wood is an organic material, and furniture made of wood will always be unique.Texture directions and knots are part of woods nature and charm, and no two pieces are alike. Wood changes constantly and it affects the volu-me, colour, and the wood structure. The wood will continue to change throughout the furnitures life span.

Its important to handle the furniture correctly.

HUMIDITYAll wood furniture is dried down to 6-8% wood humidity, which equals an air humidity of approximately 40% at 20C.Solid wood and wooden furniture in general, should be placed in rooms where the air humidity is between 40-60%.

The wood works more or less - depending on humidity in its surroundings.

It will absorb or release moisture, depending on humidity. Excessive exposure to humidity can destroy the furniture.

The wood expands in humid periods and contracts in dry periods. Repeated fluctuations can cause cracks and crack formations. Wooden furniture is especially vulnerable in rooms where windows are opened in freezing weather conditions.

The change in humidity can, for example make the table countertops rough or slightly curved, as well as a few small cracks between the veins may appear. This is irrelevant to the durability.

A difference in width between the table and extension leaf, may occur due to fluctuations in humidity. This difference will reverse when the optimum humidity is restored.

Obtaining a hygrometer to check the humidity is recommended.

GENERAL MAINTENANCEIn general, the wood should be able to breathe so it is able to adapt to the humidity in the room. Never cover solid wooden furniture with airtight materials, such as plastic or oilcloth for longer periods.If the wood cannot breathe it will crack.Full painted surfaces, as we know from panels or paneled doors in the home, will be able to crack at the joints if the humidity changes significantly and frequently.

Colour change is a natural part of the furniture. The light and change in humidity will eventually change the colour of the furniture. Items placed on a wooden table for longer periods of time may cause differences in colour.The more the wood is exposed to bright light, the faster the change of colour process will be.

If you want to reduce the changing process of the wood/paint, the process can be slowed down by protecting the wood against bright light and changes in air humidity.Always avoid placing hot and humid things directly on the furniture as they can leave stains.

Never place furniture close to strong sources of heat and air conditioning, as it can cause color changes, distortions and cracking.

CLEANINGNever use harsh cleaners as they will dull the surface and remove the protective layer, making it vulnerable to dirt.

Cleaning is carried out with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth from cotton or another material. We do not recommend microfiber cloths.Alternatively, the cleaning is carried out with a clean, damp cloth with water, then drying it with a clean lint-free cloth.

CAREThe furniture is treated differently when delivered from the manufacture and must subsequently also be maintained with various suitable cleaning materials.

Natural oiled surfaces must be treated with a neu-tral oil. If the manufacture has treated the furniture with whitewash oil, a white-wash oil must be used for future care. We recommend that you always

treat both sides of a wooden surface, in order to reduce curvature. Oiled surfaces can be treated when needed.

Other surfaces should be treated with furniture spray wax for a minimum of two times per year. For daily use, the surface should be treated more often. This will alleviate dirt and help to prevent penetration of liquid.

Always follow the recommended guidelines from the manufacture about the care of your furniture.
