Summit Focus

Summit IntroductionThis first-of-its-kind global summit will bring together executives from over 100 companies crossing ten major industries, scientists, and Silicon Valley technologists to discuss the transformation of urban living into truly digital cities. The Summit will focus on the powerful forces at work creating the first set of city-wide data layers generated from IoT, new approaches to how we apply predictive analytics to improve the quality of life, and the development of revolutionary new materials that radically alter the cost of digitizing a city. This rich tapestry of technology will transform how citizens experience the digital city and how commercial company business models create new growth.

Summit Agenda

The Stanford PARC summit will convene October 3rd and 4th. Day One will: offer a market overview, sizing the commercial potential; discuss the rapid rise in urbanization; and introduce us to key disruptors that create new commercial opportunity. Digital urbanization creating new commercial opportunity

Summit Agenda

OverviewThe joint Stanford University and PARC Global Digital Cities Summit will bring together over 200 global corporate executives and world-renowned scientists to focus on how emerging technologies including IoT, advanced predictive analytics, AI, and material sciences will change the very nature of how we think about and experience urban living. These emerging technological forces are enabling continuous connection of consumers, citizens, government, and commercial companies with devices extending from smart phones to automobiles, trains, and now city infrastructure. We will explore how companies can leverage these disruptive emerging technologies and create new growth opportunities for their company and industry business models. The conference will explore the convergence of technology and commercialization and will offer a vision of a digitalized urban environment - smart, connected, and capable of learning about itself to change as citizens decide how they want to experience their digital city.

As we develop wireless networks in cars, smart devices, trains, buildings, and infrastructure - we will cross the chasm of urban data layers and create our first city-wide data lakes seeing every aspect of city operations. How will we apply emerging technologies to drive new applications for commercial growth? How will we improve the quality of our lives and reduce costs through the insights in predictive analytics?
