the rowley Milethe rowley Mile is a special place like no other. It has style, vitality, class and premier sport. As befits the home of horseracing, it is steeped in memories... now is the time for you to visit us and create your own.

You may want to really treat yourself - and your friends - by savouring a day from the luxury of our Champions Gallery, surely one of the very best views in racing.

There really is nothing in horseracing that’s quite like being at the Rowley Mile, especially on one of its many feature race-days.

The thrill of a close-call finish, the colour of the winner’s circle and the sense of excitement make for a heady cocktail. Small wonder, folk have been drawn to Newmarket since King Charles II watched the races here in the 17th century.

Yes, Newmarket has an intriguing history but fresh chapters unfold each year. At the rowley Mile, each race-day is a celebration and we want you to be part of it.

hospitality & restaurants | enhance your day

enhance your day before the racing...WITH A TOUR OF NewMArket’S hIStOrIC rACING herItAGeFrom a morning at the National horseracing Museum or the National Stud, our tours at Newmarket will give you a true insight into the headquarters of thoroughbred breeding, racing and training...

the National horseracing Museum is a fantastic opportunity to explore racing’s heritage and follow the fascinating stories and characters that enrich this ‘sport of kings from its early origins to present day heroes. You may be tempted to ride the horse simulator but you’ll certainly be amazed at the dietary regime of a jockey.

the National Stud with 500-acres is where you’ll find leading stallions, mares and foals in a pretty and tranquil setting. During your tour you’ll get a full insight into the working of this thoroughbred farm - the only stud in the country to open its doors to the public. You’ll also meet the horses and their handlers along your way.

Ever wondered what actually happens in a working racing ‘yard’, then our tour will take you on to one of the many in Newmarket for a behind-the-scenes view of the daily routine in a working establishment. You can get ‘close up and personal’ with the horses and talk to the staff.

You’ve seen a raceday from in front of the stands, now join us behind the scenes to access exclusive areas as our expert guide takes them on the ‘raceday circuit’ which includes areas that are not normally open to the public - the Weighing Room, Saddling Boxes and Dope Testing Unit. You might even be lucky enough to meet a jockey or two!

tour content varies throughout the year and is dictated by seasonal activities at the venue when you visit, contact us for more information.

INDuLGe YOurSeLF ON A VISIT TO THE ROWLEY MILE WITH A GLASS OF CHAMPAGNE IN THE FrANkeL LOuNGe

the story of Frankel’s fabulous career is told in words and stunning photography within a stylish and contemporary seafood restaurant, located next to the weighing-room and offering stunning views across the Parade ring.

One of the most celebrated dishes is ‘Frankel’s Seafood Platter’ and to wash it down, the bar caters for a full range of drinks, including vintage champagnes making this a popular spot for race-goers.

Frankel had a special relationship with Newmarket Racecourses, successfully starting his career on the July Course before winning two Group 1s – including, so memorably, the QIPCO 2000 Guineas on the Rowley Mile.

We feel sure that his trainer Sir Henry Cecil, would have loved the Frankel Lounge, so why not take the opportunity to relive the highlights from the unbeaten champion’s career.

the July Coursethe July Course has a unique charm and romantic appeal that makes it

many people’s favourite racecourse. It’s where passion and fashion meetsizzling sport to create an exhilarating atmosphere.

Situated in the heart of the action is our amazing Summer Houserestaurant and trust us, we know what makes those days out that little bit

extra special. So, try our strawberries and cream, don’t miss thelocally-made ice-cream with its temptingly wide selection of flavours (come each Saturday and try a different one!) and check out the flowers from our own nursery that climb across the Paddock Pagoda and spill over from the

hanging baskets.

Here’s another secret: don’t miss our exquisite pre-parade ring. It possesses an almost cathedral-esque feel with tall trees enclosing it. It is an amazing

spot to get within touching distance of some of the world’s best racehorses and witness their beauty and power.

the July Course: it’s an original that’s treasured by many.Like the sunshine, we wouldn’t know what to do without it.

As you would expect on our historic turf, the racing is special too: check out the stunning sight that is the charge of 35 horses down the Rowley Mile in the Betfred Cambridgeshire Handicap. Like so many aspects of racing and the town of Newmarket,

Future Champions DayFriday 17 October

Do you love top-class sport in a historical setting with a sizzling atmosphere? then come and soak up Future Champions Day.

The racing mainly comprises the emerging stars of the sport from the generation of horses aged just two. They are the future, but they are also very much about the here and now, too. Indeed, for some, reputations are made on this day – for others, it is a stepping stone to greatness in seasons to come.

In every way, it simply gets no better than Future Champions Day at Newmarket Racecourses – a place where memories are made and legends created.
