HOPE- AN EFFORT BY SHOHRATGARH ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIETY Page 2

Think of a life, where you do not have parents or family. You do not have any shelter or home to live and

any source of livelihood. Certainly, you don’t want such bizarre situation at any point of your lives. The

number of orphans in India stands at approx. 47 percent out of a total of about 55 millions children of

ages 0-12 years, and an overall population of 150 millions. Today, orphans remain a burden of extended

families although most of these are living from hand to mouth, in a situation like that; these families

who can hardly take care of their own children naturally find it almost impossible to take in an extra

child. Such a school named – Brahmrishi Bawra Siddharth Vidyapeeth is established by Sri Chandresh

Shastri in Uska bazaar block of district Siddharthnagar (Uttar Pradesh). Siddharthnagar is one of the

backward district of India .Most of people are dependent on agriculture or unskillful work. They have no

choices in life.

People who are educated and can think about what is right and what is wrong will obey the rules and be

of benefit to society. people who are poor and have no education have no choices, no discrimination

between what is right and what is wrong, they don’t know how to take care of themselves or their

family; they can become thieves, criminals- a problem to society. For orphans the situation is even more

difficult. They have no one to properly care for them; they are without home, without basic livelihood

and without opportunities. So, it is more meaningful and urgent to build school to care for the orphan

children. Through it orphans can have a good life and good care, can receive proper education and

become good people who will know how to take care of themselves and others. For orphans the

situation is even more difficult. With education and useful skills they can do whatever they want,

otherwise they have no choice in life. If they want to do business they will be equipped to do it well. If

they want to pursue higher education they will have the necessary knowledge, if they want to work for

the government they can do the job well. Their knowledge and values will be passed on to their own

children. In this way the school will gradually benefit the whole of society.

Firstly, the school benefits the orphans by giving them a warm home and a chance to develop

themselves. School’s positive influence will extend to the local community - by providing jobs and

transferring the knowledge - and serve as a model of effective and relevant education in rural areas. in

addition everyone involved - working staff, volunteers and supporters - will benefit through gaining new

experience, through making life meaningful by helping others, through establishing close and personal

connections spanning across boundaries of cultures and nations.

SES is a non- governmental organization and has been working in eastern part of Uttar Pradesh from

more than two decades. Its programme focused on agriculture, livelihood, disaster mitigation & health

issues. These programme are supported by government & funding agencies. Hope programme is real

test for organization as well as of individuals who express their concern to education and child. We are

one of leading NGO Uttar Pradesh & we are raising fund on behalf of Brahmrishi Bawra Siddharth

Vidyapeeth through your support. You can ensure that orphans will not suffer. In fact, you will ensure

their shelter, food, education, medical care, and most importantly, loving familial relationships.

This is an individual effort of Sri Chandresh Shastri till date. All funds for construction and proper running

of the school need to be raised by him. He has developed a small network of people who continue to

support the school on the regular basis but that is not sufficient for those children. They sleep on earth.

They cook their own food. There is no helper who can help them in their activities. That’s why we are

asking donation from your heart.

You can contribute in many different ways: by making general donations to support construction and

equipment costs, material donations. Become a caring friend and an arduous supporter of the school’s

community as a whole; participate in its experiences and development, in its trials and triumphs, in its

everyday life. Your relationship with the school and its community can last for a lifelong.

General donations of any amount towards construction and equipment costs are warmly welcomed. You

can make a general contribution to the construction and equipment fund, or if you can donate a larger

sum, you can choose to finance a specific item from the list, for example a children’s house, kitchen

equipment etc. We accept donation only through cheque /draft or online. You can send your

areas of fund raising, promotion, planning and research.

The goal of hope programme is to bring up orphaned and needy children by finding ways and means of

meeting their spiritual, physical and social needs by providing traditional family living environment for

orphans and to give them basic education. The school is based on ethical values and promotes Indian

culture and tradition hand in hand with understanding and appreciation of the modern world. The

objective can be achieved by using different means and ways mentioned in above table 1.
