“FISH AND PLAY THE SENIOR ANGLER WAY”
From the President’s Pole
Greetings everyone, I just got back from our Lake Hemet
outing and had a wonderful time with our fellow campers. We caught fish, had some delicious dinners, and enjoyed
evening campfires together in the “cooler temperatures.” Thanks again to Karen and Bob Taylor and Carol and
Ron Parker for all their efforts.
The club Turkey Fry was delicious and the White Elephant Sale items were gone quickly. Thanks again to Carmen
and Tomas Martinez for opening up their beautiful home
to all of us and to Marge and Gene Lovelady for all their work.
The fall fishing season is very slowly turning towards win-
ter. Local lakes are just starting to be stocked as Dixon Lake opened for trout fishing on November 19th. A nine
pounder was caught by a lucky local angler. Yours truly found four suicidal trout while fishing the last two hours on
the 20th.
December activities include the Awards Banquet (December 3) and Viejas Bus trip, a club fund raiser (December 10th).
By the time you get this the Awards Banquet will have happened, but it’s not too late to call Barbara Gattuso to
join the fun on the Viejas Trip.
Wishing you all the happiest of Holidays and looking
forward to a great 2015!
P.S. Don’t forget, there is no meeting in December.

FRESH WATER
LAKE HEMET---November 16 to 21, 2014
Thirty-one campers experienced three days of colder weather with lows in the 20’s, one day lows in the
30’s with lots of sunshine and wind. Fishing was a little slow with a total of 58 being caught. Daily win-
ners included Larry Jauert, John Tester, Bob Taylor and Warren Estes. Big fish for the week went
to Bob Taylor with a 14.8 ounce rainbow trout.
The sewing ladies worked on personal projects (possibly Christmas gifts). The daily walkers enjoyed
seeing unusual birds including eagles as well as deer.
Lake Hemet campground personell went out of their way to make this trip a success providing one
campsite, fire wood and moving tables to accommodate the evening activities.
Bob and Karen Taylor with Ron and Carol Parker did a great job that was appreciated by all, by be-
ing Wagon Masters.
JANUARY SPEAKER
The January meeting guest speaker will be our own Ron Parker. Ron will present a 2014 Senior Anglers of Escondido Slideshow, with pictures of our club activities and various mem-
bers enjoying all of these fun activities. This has become a favorite program, and we all are anxious and excited to see this year’s edition. We welcome for any or all visitors to see and enjoy what our club is all about.
Hope the Holidays are good to all.

BBQs to grill a great chicken dinner .

So many calories, I mean goodies!!! Thank you all who
baked and bought. This was a great fund raiser and a
lot of fun. Thanks to Nat for running the show and to
Joanne for helping out.
VIEJAS TRIP
The Viejas trip is doing very well and is always fun. Get those last minute gifts at the outlet center. Call

SENIOR CENTER QUILTS DONATION
At the June Lake Campout the Quilting Ladies concentrated on making
lap quilts for the Senior Center to be distributed to those seniors in
Escondido who are not as fortunate as we. The quilters worked
on these at home as well and together created 27 quilts which were
presented at the October meeting.
MARY’S HOUSE
The quilting ladies and their friends continued support of Mary's House this year. ESA members gen-
erously supported this effort donating cash, gift cards and gifts. Each of the six residents of Mary’s
house will receive a wonderful gift bag chock full of gift cards, personal items, mittens, cosmetics,
candy, bracelets, etc. Thank you all for helping to make the holidays a little nicer for these girls.
