Increased Life Safety

• Lights can be programmed to strobe on and off during analarm, and remain functioning as a warning to those arrivinghome. They can help a family find their way, turning on whenmotion is detected in an upstairs hallway at night. In theevent of a fire, exit lighting can be turned on. For an addedlevel of protection, your customers can create an "on andoff" schedule for a lived-in look when they’re away.

• In the event of a fire, the system can shut down HVACairflow, helping to stop the spread of smoke

• If the presence of carbon monoxide is detected, the systemtells the HVAC to turn on the ventilation to circulate air

• Via text messaging, a cell phone or e-mail, homeownersreceive quick notification in the event of an intrusion or firealarm, flood, carbon monoxide leak or environmentalproblems within the home

Quick Hardware InstallationFollow these steps to install the ICM hardware:

1. Mount the ICM. Attach the ICM to the wall near the securitypanel using the screws provided. It may be necessary toremove the board while installing the ICM housing to preventdamage to the board.

2. Connect the serial cable. Connect one end to the DB-9 onthe ICM, and the other end to the serial interface on thesecurity panel.

3. Plug in the Ethernet cable. Plug one end of the networkcable into the RJ-45 on the ICM. Connect the other end tothe network router (or a network attached hub or switch).

4. Connect Power. Insert the power supply barrel connectorinto the power jack on the ICM. Plug the wall transformerinto a standard 120 V 60 Hz AC outlet.
