3.0 REFERENCES:4.0 INTRODUCTION:4.1 DOCUMENT PURPOSE: The purpose of this document is to illustrate complete functional requirements of Virginia Education Wizard (www.vawizard.org). This document will describe the Business, Technical Requirements and Functional Requirements as well utilizing Use Cases, Business Architecture diagrams and illustrations for comprehensive understanding.

5.0 BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS:5.1 HOME PAGE: Wizard 5.0 should provide the users brief description of the site's purpose and functionalities in a clear, intuitive and visually engaging manner. HOMEPAGE REQUIREMENTS ID REQUIREMENT DESCRIPTIONSTATUS

1.0Homepage should be accessible to all type of Wizard users. ( Anonymous and Logged in )

2.0When the user is not logged in , Wizard 5.0 Homepage should always display the Login link which will drop a menu on mouse hover that containswhich will contain the following fields : the username textbox and Password textbox fields to allow the user to login.Login button Reset password link (it has a complex user authentication mechanism coz user can be vccs user or wizard user or other user) Create account

2.0.1Clicking on create account link should take the user to Create account page

2.0.1.1This page will display the two non-demarcated columns with following main headings: 1) Create a New Account and 2) Already a Member? Login below?

2.0.2Clicking on reset password link should take the user to reset password page

2.1When the user is logged in the , login in link will change to display the text Welcome and user will be able to see the following links : PROFILE LOGOUT MY COLLEGES(depending on the user role)

2.1.1.Clicking on Profile link will take the user to Profile page.Notes Profile page has not been redesigned by design team yet.

2.1.2Clicking on My colleges link will take the user to ??

2.1.3Clicking on Logout link (irrespective of the screen ) should take the user to the homepage .

2.2Clicking on the search icon should replace the name field with search field.Search mechanism allows the user to search the wizard.It would show the results page

2.3Clicking on Espanol should take the user to spanish version of the wizard

2.4User should be able to see The 3 menu items(User - logged in and logged out): STUDENTS VETERANS WORKFORCE

2.4.1Clicking on Students menu item should take the user to Students page

2.4.2Clicking on Veterans menu item should take the user to New Veterans page

2.4.3Clicking on Workforce menu item should take the user to Workforce page

2.1The drop down menu will contain a button ' Reset Your Password ' option that allows the user to successfully reset his password.

2.2The drop down menu will contain a link which allows the user to create an account.

2.3The password should meet the following criterion for successful login:

2.3.1.It should at least have seven characters and not more than ten characters.

2.3.2.It must contain at least one UPPERCASE letter.

2.3.3.It must contain at least one lowercase letter.

2.3.4.It may not contain any special characters.

3.0Top of the homepage should display a Register button that directs the user to create an account webpage so that the user can create a new account.

4.0Top of the Homepage should display Espanol link that should provide a Spanish translated version of the Wizard for all subsequent webpages that the user scrolls through.

4.1'Espanol' link on the Webpage should change to 'English' link which allows the user to revert back to English version of the Wizard

5.0Top right corner of the Homepage should display the Search option.

6.0The homepage should display Welcome User Name message on the top section once the user is authenticated (post successful login).

6.1On clicking on the username will drop a menu that contains a link to users profile, Logout option and other custom menu options based on roles.

7.0Top of the homepage should display 3 separate buttons namely: Students, Veterans and Workforce.

7.1Student Button: On clicking the students button, Wizard should direct the user to Students new page

7.2Veterans Button: On clicking the Veterans button, Wizard should direct the user to Veterans section.

7.3Workforce Button: On clicking the Workforce button, Wizard should direct the user to Workforce section.

8.0Students, Veterans and Workforce Buttons should be colored differently to emphasis the difference in functionality.

9.0 Top & bottom of the Homepage should display Facebook icon which should direct the user to Virginia Community Colleges Facebook Page.

10.0 Top of the Homepage should display Wizard logo and floating horizontal navigation menu which has tabs namely: Careers, College Planner, Paying for college, Parent Info, Advisor, Transfer and Reality Check. (Described in the rest of the Business Requirement Document).

10.1Each of these options will direct the user to respective sections (Landing page ) of the Wizard.

10.2Navigation menu should stick to the top of the window as the user scrolls down the page.

11.0Homepage should display the Hero section below the Navigation menu which includes an image text and a Know more Button.

11.1Attached to the bottom of the hero section, homepage should display a navigation pane that includes the following:

11.1.1.Are you a workforce button and a respective icon

11.1.2. Are you a veterans button and a respective icon

11.1.3.Are you a student button and a respective icon

11.1.4.The site avatar named Ginny, which on clicking should direct the user to Ask Ginny section.

Homepage should display a search text box

Homepage should display popular search items below the search box.

12.0Homepage should display Looking for something section which contains the following three columns:

12.1 Search for community college: This column should display a Virginia Map which by default shows 2 year community colleges in Virginia.

12.1.1.User should be able to view the 2-Year community college as they hover on the Map.

12.1.2.The Map should display an option for the user to switch to view 4 year colleges.

12.1.3This option should direct the user to Virginia Map that displays 4 year colleges.

12.1.4.Homepage should display an option for the user to view the college listing.

12.2Parent Info column should display the following links: Students with Disability, Financial Literacy, Scholarship Search, Savings for College and College Planning.

12.3FAQ column should display the following links: Advisors, Applying to College, Careers, Paying for College, Programs and Majors, Transfers and Using Wizard.

13.0 The bottom of the homepage should display 'Some smart tools, just for you' banner in a separate section which shows the following demarcated columnsitems in its section:

13.1.The smart tools options namely: College calculator, Award Estimator, Assess your needs, and Search for College which enable the user to directly access them through the Homepage.

13.1.1.Each of the icons would direct the user to appropriate landing page for the tool.

13.2.Wizard logo and SCHEV (State Council for Higher Education) on each corner.
