It is important to maintain your system properly and insure against costly repairs in the event of a malfunction, because septic repairs can cause great financial hardship. The Pro-Sept Septic System Protection Plan provides the peace of mind that septic system owners need by covering the cost of septic system repairs or replacement up to $25,000.

A septic system generally includes an underground septic tank, a drainfield, and underground piping. Wastewater flows into the tank, where sludge settles in the tank bottom, and wastewater passes through to the drainfield, where it is absorbed into the earth beneath your property. Septic systems are not connected to a municipal sewer system.

Periodic inspection and maintenance are necessary to ensure proper functioning and remove the sludge that collects in the septic tank. Homeowners must also take care not to dispose of hazardous household waste in sinks or toilets.

In most states when you sell your home, the septic system must pass inspection and be in good working order.

Return the inspection report and receipt of pump-out, along with your application and payment. After approval, you will be issued a service agreement, showing that your protection is in effect.

* Inspection of your septic system is performed at your cost and can vary depending on your geographic location. Please contact The Pro-Sept Program for a list of pre-approved inspectors in your area.

peat module that is used in some septic systems. • Protection for brand new systems, with

accompanying installation paperwork, is valid for 3 years and covers years 2-3, following the 1-year anniversary of the completed installation. (Builder/installer is responsible for the first year.)

• Protection for existing systems is on an annual term. The system must be pumped and a visual inspection performed at your expense every 1-3 years, as required.

• The plan is transferable to a new homeowner.
