Home Sickness - How to Overcome Dr.Sudhir R.Shah In every ones life a day always come when we feel home sick- we feel to be a way from family members and seek their company. It happens more frequently when you are staying far away from family- for a student in hostel or for a couple staying in a strange town away from family members .I have experienced both situation .The first when I was studying in Medical college at Ahmedabad for long 7 years from year 1973 to 1980. The Second at present at Rajkot. Now the question is how to overcome the situation and remain happy. Over the experience I have got the following conclusions. 1. Be in a company of friends and colleagues. That will keep you away from loneliness feelings. Make some very good friends and do not expect anything from them-instead help them in all the ways. That helps you to make good friends and long lasting friendship. Smaller events with friends are to be forgotten rather then to remember all the time. Friends are the family members of your own choice. 2. Always remain in contact with your Parents – call parents once in a day or once in 2 days. Thanks to the newer faster ,cheaper and easy

Home Sickness - How to Overcome

In every ones life a day always come when we feel home sick- we feel to be a way from family members and seek their company. It happens more frequently when you are staying far away from family- for a student in hostel or for a couple staying in a strange town away from family members .I have experienced both situation .The first when I was studying in Medical college at Ahmedabad for long 7 years from year 1973 to 1980. The Second at present at Rajkot.

Now the question is how to overcome the situation and remain happy. Over the experience I have got the following conclusions.

1. Be in a company of friends and colleagues. That will keep you away from loneliness feelings. Make some very good friends and do not expect anything from them-instead help them in all the ways. That helps you to make good friends and long lasting friendship. Smaller events with friends are to be forgotten rather then to remember all the time. Friends are the family members of your own choice.

2. Always remain in contact with your Parents –call parents once in a day or once in 2 days. Thanks to the newer faster ,cheaper and easy way of communication by mobiles in present days. That will be very helpful to you in boosting up your spirit to read or to work at office and at home. Share all your feelings with them. By doing this Both the party on either side become very happy. Happiness is far more then the money spent for that call. So do that.

3. Next comes the close family members. It is also better to call them and talk with them once in a month to share your feelings and to get the feelings of a member of large family. Do it even if they do not care to call you –because you are doing that for your own happiness. Call only those who are having positive attitudes and thoughts. Avoid calling depressive personalities.

4. Cultivate some good habit of sports-reading-making new things on computer-net-etc

5. Try to learn some new things away from your profession like web designing-photography-making food dishes etc ---- will keep you very happy

6. Be a good planner of the life by week to week-Month to month and year to year. This will make your life exciting.

7. Think high about you and never say any one that you are not doing well – in study or in job etc. except your parents---cos others have a habit to zoom the problems and to broadcast it.

8. Live a disciplined and king size life . The best time in the life is when you are going to office in a car and you are alone- You can sing a song-which you like all time- very loudly-cos you are the singer and you are the listener. This will decrease extra adrenalin from your brain and will relax you. The second way to do it –is to curse loudly to the person you hate a lot. Speak all wrong things for him-her loudly and that will decrease your stress and will make you relax.( reference- movie Jab we met—Karina makes a call to her ex BF and speaks all wrong things )

9. Never do a thing which hurts your own feeling and give you a guilty feelings

10.Always do prayer to God –before you go to sleep and ask the God to forgive you for any wrong thing you have done knowingly or un knowingly. HE always forgive and makes you relax and bring the deep sleep easily.
