WARNINGPower connectionR Use only the power source marked

on the product.R Do not overload power outlets and

extension cords. This can result inthe risk of fire or electric shock.

R Completely insert the AC adaptor/power plug into the power outlet.Failure to do so may cause electricshock and/or excessive heatresulting in a fire.

R Regularly remove any dust, etc.from the AC adaptor/power plug bypulling it from the power outlet, then

R It is advised not to use theequipment at a refuelling point.Users are reminded to observerestrictions on the use of radioequipment in fuel depots, chemicalplants or where blasting operationsare in progress.

Operating safeguardsR Unplug the product from power

outlets before cleaning. Do not useliquid or aerosol cleaners.

R Do not disassemble the product.R Never put metal objects inside the

product. If metal objects enter theproduct, turn off the circuit breakerand contact an authorised servicecentre.

MedicalR Consult the manufacturer of any

personal medical devices, such aspacemakers or hearing aids, todetermine if they are adequatelyshielded from external RF (radiofrequency) energy. DECT featuresoperate between 1.88 GHz and1.90 GHz with a peak transmissionpower of 250 mW.

R Do not use the product in healthcare facilities if any regulationsposted in the area instruct you not todo so. Hospitals or health carefacilities may be using equipmentthat could be sensitive to externalRF energy.

CAUTIONInstallation and locationR Never install wiring during a lightning

storm.

R The AC adaptor is used as the maindisconnect device. Ensure that theAC outlet is installed near theproduct and is easily accessible.

R To avoid the risk of strangulation,keep the product and the ACadaptor cord at least 1 m from achild’s crib and out of the reach ofsmall children.

Preventing accidents and injuriesR Do not put your ear(s) near the

product, as loud sounds emittedfrom the product may cause hearingimpairment.

R Do not look directly at the strobelight when it is flashing. Light emittedfrom the strobe light may causedamage to the eyes.

R Consider the installationenvironment carefully wheninstalling the product. Pay particularattention to infants, children, and theelderly, as they may be moresensitive to loud sounds and strobelights.

General noticesR This equipment will be inoperable

when mains power fails.R When a failure occurs which results

in the internal parts becomingaccessible, disconnect the powersupply cord immediately and returnthis unit to an authorised servicecentre.

R To minimise the possibility oflightning damage, when you knowthat a thunderstorm is coming, werecommend that you unplug the ACadaptor from the AC power outlet.

R When you leave the product unusedfor a long period of time, unplug theproduct from the power outlet.

Registering the sirenThis procedure is not required fordevices that were included as part ofa bundle.

Before you can use the siren, it mustbe registered to the hub.If you purchased devices separately(i.e., not as part of a bundle), you mustregister each device to the hub.

You can register each device by usingthe registration buttons or the [HomeNetwork] app.Note:R Before registering the siren, make

sure the AC adaptors of the hub andsiren are connected and eachdevice is powered.

Using registration buttons1 Hub:

Press and hold M OTHERDEVICEN until the LED indicatorblinks slowly in green.

2 Siren:Press and hold M N until theLED indicator blinks slowly ingreen (page 8).R When registration is complete,

the hub sounds one long beep.Note:R To cancel without registering the

siren, press M N on the hub andon the siren again.

R If registration fails, the hub soundsseveral short beeps.

Using the appWhen you register the siren by usingthe [Home Network] app, you canassign a name to your devices andgroup them by location. For moreinformation, refer to the User’s Guide(page 13).

Confirming theusage areaWireless communicationrangeThe wireless communication range ofeach device in the system from the hubis approximately 50 m indoors andapproximately 300 m outdoors.Wireless communication may beunreliable when the following obstaclesare located between the hub and otherdevices.R Metal doors or screensR Walls containing aluminium-sheet

Note:R You can use the siren’s LED

indicator to confirm the siren’scommunication status (page 8). Ifthe LED indicator is lit in green or isblinking quickly in red, the siren iscommunicating properly with thehub.

Usage area cautionsUsing the siren in the following areasmay cause deformation, malfunction, oroperational failure.R In direct sunlightR Areas exposed to grease or steam,

such as kitchensR Near fire or heating devices

R Near magnetic fields (such as nearmicrowaves and magnets)

R Areas subject to extremetemperature changes, such as nextto air conditioners

R Areas with reflective objects, suchas glass, that can interfere withdetection of temperature variation

R Areas where the temperature isaffected by strong illuminatingobjects (such as fluorescent lights)

R Near devices that emit strong radiowaves, such as mobile phones

InstallationMount the siren on a wall using theholes in the rear cover.Note:R The strobe light flashes when the

siren sounds. Mount the siren in alocation where its strobe light will bevisible.

R Mount the siren on the stablelocation where the siren can beadequately supported whenmounting.

R Mount the siren securely to a wall.Vibrations may cause it to fall if it isnot secured.

R Do not mount siren on a softmaterial. It may fall down, break orcause injury.

R Do not mount the siren on thefollowing places: gypsum board,ALC (autoclaved lightweight cellularconcrete), concrete block, plywoodless than 25.4 mm thick, etc.

R Use only the supplied Panasonic ACadaptor PNLV236AL.

3 Use the DC extension cord (A) toconnect the AC adaptor (B) to thesiren.R Insert the male plug of the DC

extension cord (C) firmly intothe DC socket (D, E).

R Insert the female plug of the DCextension cord (F) firmly intothe AC adaptor plug (G).

5 Attach the siren to the rear cover.R Insert the grooves on the siren

to the 4 tabs on the rear cover,and then push down the siren.

Note:While the siren is sounding or thestrobe light is flashing, you can stop thesiren by pressing M N.

Note about powerconnectionsAC adaptor connectionR The AC adaptor must remain

connected at all times. (It is normalfor the adaptor to feel warm duringuse.)

R The AC adaptor should beconnected to a vertically oriented orfloor-mounted AC outlet. Do notconnect the AC adaptor to aceiling-mounted AC outlet, as theweight of the adaptor may cause itto become disconnected.

Power failureR The siren will not work during a

Testing the sirenAfter you have installed the [HomeNetwork] app on your mobile device,you can use your mobile device to testthe siren. For more information, refer tothe User’s Guide (page 13).1 Start the [Home Network] app,

and tap [Settings].2 Tap [Device Profiles].3 Tap [Siren] and then select the

desired siren.4 Tap [Installation Test].5 Tap [Play].

Adjusting the siren’svolumeYou can adjust the siren’s volumeusing the siren’s MHIGHN/MLOWN switch(page 8).

Features availablewhen using the[Home Network] appSome of the siren’s features that areavailable when using the [HomeNetwork] app are listed below. Formore information, refer to the User’sGuide (page 13).– Alarm system

You can use the app to arm anddisarm the alarm system, confirmthe current status of the system’sdevices, and view a log of previousevents. You can also use the app tostop the siren from sounding.
