Dear Families/Carers,
Welcome to Term 2. All students are settled and engaged in their learning and staff are beginning to prepare Semester 1 reports.
At the end of last term one of our long standing School Learning Support Officers, Colleen Wright was awarded a Community Service Award for her dedication to Special Education and our school. We attended an award ceremony at Adamstown Education Office to celebrate her acheivements.It is with a heavy heart that I inform our entire school community that the last day of Term 2 will be our beautiful Colleen’s last day of school forever! Easter CelebrationsA fun time was had by all who attended our Easter Celebration assembly.
The Ea ster Raffle was a success, with many prizes rais ing money for our school.

Emu ClassEmu class is one of our awesome senior classes at Five Islands School. We have three Year 8 students, two Year 11 and one Year 12 who are all working hard on the Life Skills syllabus. Our weekly timetable is jam packed with learning experiences that encourage our students to become more independent in all areas of their life. Every morning we work on our communication, literacy, numeracy and fine motor skills through our morning circle and structured learning systems programs. Our middle sessions focus on wellbeing and life skills programs including yoga, spa, drumming, gymnastics, food technology and community access. Our class loves all things technology so our theme for this semester is “The Digital Revolution”. We are exploring the history of technology including phones, computers and video games.

P & C FundraisingEntertainment Books are still for sale through our school and are available in both booklet or digital versions. The school receives $12 from each book sold. Don’t forget to support our school by attending the Drag Queen Bingo Night. Tickets are still available and there are many great prizes to be won.
