The long-awaited spring break is upon us. Some of you will escape to a sunny destination while others will opt instead for the joys of winter. This well deserved break signals the end of the second trimester of this school year. Don’t forget to have a look at the school break event calendar of the Borough of Saint-Léonard, which has plenty of free activities to keep the kids occupied. Enjoy the time off! The Home and School association is active in many of the school events throughout the school year. Before the Christmas break, the association treated all students, staff and volunteers to a pancake breakfast. Thank you to Kitchen73 for preparing the delicious pancakes and to the HM Families for providing the fruits. H&S also purchased candy canes for all our students, which were distributed by Santa Claus and his elf. Volunteers made dairy-free and egg-free pancakes. Thank you to all our volunteers for making this special event run smoothly.

The Science Fair was once again a huge success. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped throughout the day as well as the evening.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

Teacher Appreciation week was held from February 12-16,2018. It would not have been possible without the generosity of our committee members and sponsors. A special thank you to the committee; Nadia Voglini, Nadia DiPaola, Tina Lopez, Joanne Lacroce, Sandra Guerra, Giulia Fratassio, Julia Avanzato, Adrianna DiPardo, Ariana Holowka, Lilla Tortorici, Connie Raccio, Maria Scicchitano, Daniela Bella, Catherine Campanile, Isabelle Fortin and Carmela Martignetti.

GRADE 6 CHRISTMAS TREAT

Grade 6 students and staff were treated to delicious oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate to toast the holidays. Cookies were purchased from Lafrenaie Bakery and hot chocolate was from Tim Hortons. Everyone enjoyed this treat!

GRADE 6 NEWS

A Hockey Raffle was held on February 9th as a fundraising effort for the Grade 6 graduation committee. Two sets of hockey tickets for February 22nd were generously donated by a HM family and JPMA Global. Raffle was open to all students and staff in the school. The winners were Mr. Andrew Martinez and Ms. Elena Lato. The raffle generated a profit of 676$. Thank you to all who participated. The upcoming graduates are off on their long awaited, week-long ski-trip at Vallée Bleu in Val-David. We want to thank our amazing teachers, Ms. Morena, Mme Gaetane, Mme. Elisa, Mr. Peter and Mr. Andrew for ensuring that our children have a safe and memorable trip. THANK YOU!!!!!
