Co-Rectors' Report (The Revs. Pamela & Stephen Easterday)The Co-Rectors give their Annual Report as the sermon at each service on the Annual Meeting weekend. A print version is available.

Assistant Rector’s Report (The Rev. Meghan Farr)2018 was a busy and blessed year full of both parish and diocesan events. With the completion of all the renovations at Trinity Towers (the clergy were even invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony!), I have resumed my monthly bible study and service at the East Tower. I led an Ash Wednesday service in the West Tower and Christmas Eve service in the East tower. I stay in touch with staff and residents regularly and have built a wonderful relationship with the social workers there. The Elder Care Fund provided gift cards as door prizes for a combined Christmas luncheon for the East and West Tower. I was invited to the lunch and asked to offer the blessing. Elder Care funds also helped the South Tower to purchase two computers and a printer as a Christmas gift for the residents. As always I share in the worship life of Holy Trinity preaching and celebrating at the services on Saturday and Sunday as well as Wednesday mornings and evenings. I continue to serve as the Chaplain to the Diocesan Altar Guild and I attended their annual meeting at All Saints Lakeland in February. I also serve as the chaplain to our parish’s Daughter’s of the King chapter. There are so many wonderful bible study opportunities here at Holy Trinity. I have enjoyed leading a variety of different studies on Wednesday evenings including Jonah, Judges, Lenten studies, Advent themes and more! My Tuesday Coloring the Scriptures group meets at 11am and has studied Ruth, Esther and is finishing a study of Mary. We also gathered in December to have a dessert exchange and to watch The Nativity Story. It was a wonderful part of my Advent season. Holy Trinity held our third Blue Christmas service for the parish and the community. Thank you to Carolyn Wilt and the Health Ministry Team for their work in putting the service together and, along with the Daughters of the King, and so many of you, for a successful Parish Christmas Caroling event. We visited and sang to more than 75 parishioners and then enjoyed a potluck supper afterwards. I look forward to all the ways God will use the people and ministries of this parish in 2019. God bless you. Respectfully submitted, Reverend Meghan Farr, Assistant Rector for Pastoral Care

Sr. Warden’s Report (Mike Crews)Looking back over 2018 what a great year for the church. We have started renovation of the Historical Chapel. A group worked one Saturday morning with demolition of the porch, also the old HVAC equipment. We had to tent the chapel for termites. Windows and doors have been renovated. Delays with the permitting process slowed the process down. Pete Soloway has agreed to be the our representative to work with the builder, subcontractors and architect. We are looking to complete the renovations sometime in the second quarter of 2019. In Late November 2017 the church was approached with the opportunity to purchase the Brevard Rental property next door. A committee was formed (13 members) to look into the feasibility of purchasing land and possible benefits to the Church. The committee recommended to the Vestry to proceed. The Vestry voted to enter into negotiations with the Grahams. February received approval from the Diocese to proceed. March begin environmental Study Phase 1 & 2. Completed environmental study and our Due Diligence in June. Grahams completed cleanup of property and closing was on November 30, 2018. Renovations have started on the old Brevard Rentals which will be the new home for our Thrift Store. We are working on renting the 8,000 square foot building and have a secured lease agreement with Posh Beauty Lounge. This purchase will give the church ample parking for future growth, income, new entrance to offices and visibility from Babcock Street.A special thanks to Jim Biggins who was on the team who negotiated this purchase. I would also like to thank the Vestry, staff, Rev. Pam, Fr. Steve and the committee members for their support and prayers in taking this big leap of faith for the future of our church and congregation. Both projects I believe will help our community to “Know Christ and Make Him Known”.

Jr. Warden’s/Buildings & Grounds Report (Milt Miller)The past year has been busy keeping the buildings and grounds repaired and operational. We had to repair the roofs on 1811 and 1809 Elizabeth street and repair 1709 Elizabeth street to get it ready to rent out. With the purchase of Brevard Rental properties we are under way with fixing up the building so we can move our Thrift Store to the new building. They are putting down new tile floor, installing new handicap bathroom and replacing the ceiling tiles.Work on the chapel has started and have finally got approval from the city. We had to fix several air conditioners in various buildings and replaced rope on the bell in the tower. I want to thank all the member of the building and grounds committee for all of their input and work.

Stewardship Report (John Seybold)This year’s theme for stewardship campaign was Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”. We had about 18 drivers delivering stewardship packets to members’ homes on a Saturday morning in October. We also held very impressive ministry fair in the gym that weekend to highlight the wide variety of different ministries that Holy Trinity supports. Sharon DuBois and Betty Shanks efforts in organizing that event are greatly appreciated. The overall response was good, with 243 families and individuals pledging support, including 24 new pledges, and 68 that were increased over last year’s pledge amount. The total amount pledged thus far for 2019 is $504,216, which is slightly lower than last year’s final tally of $511,580 and 268 pledges.

Nourishing Body and Soul Campaign (Mike Crews)Work has started on the Chapel. Contracts have been signed with Building Management Systems for construction, Commercial Electric, Plum Pro Plumbing and Baird Air. Also sound and video contracts are almost complete. These contract cover the majority of the work to be done. We are now ready to move forward and hope to complete in 2nd quarter of 2019.Thanks to the congregation and donors for your support, patience and payers.

Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Foundation, Inc. (The Rev. Stephen Easterday)Annual Report of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Foundation Inc. (HTECF), by Fr. Stephen Easterday, prepared on January 21, 2019The total assets of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Foundation as of December 31, 2018 were:General Endowment Funds Invested with Raymond James: $3,475,022. *Elder Endowment Funds Invested with Raymond James: $3,107,221. **TTE Owner Financing Note associated with “Holding Company” $1,666,506. ***TTW Owner Financing Note associated with “Holding Company” $2,027,165. ***Mortgage to HTEC from HTECF on “Brevard Rentals Property” $700,000. ****

Total Assets of HTECF $10,975, 914. *****

*General at RJ Total as of 12/31/2016 was $3,802,644; and as of 12/31/2017 was $4,154,195.**Elder at RJ Total as of 12/31/2016 was $3,776,057; and as of 12/31/2017 was $3,942,652.*** The Owner Financing Notes are associated with POAH/Trinity Loan Holding Co. LLC.(These valuations reflect the valuations of the annually adjusted “Special Redemption Price,” which were calculated mid-year 2018 and estimated for 12/31/2018)**** The HTECF made a mortgage loan to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church of $700,000. This loan was for the purchase of the Brevard Rentals properties by the Church. The loan was approved by the Foundation Board on 2/5/2018. The promissory note was executed on 11/30/2018. Payments to the Foundation from the Church are based on an interest rate of 4.6% and the monthly payment from the Church to the Foundation is $3,930.67. The first payment was made in January 2019.***** The total assets of the HTECF Foundation that were reported in January 2018 were $11,831,086. Part of the decrease is related to a $250,000 grant made from the Foundation to the Church on 2/5/2018; this grant was made to assist in the purchase of the Brevard Rentals Properties. The financial markets were also down at the end of 2018. As of this writing on 1/21/2019, the markets have come back somewhat and the assets of the General funds have increased $123,083, and the assets of the Elder funds have increased $82,419, over the figures listed above for the end of 2018. The officers of the Foundation were elected at the Annual Meeting of the Foundation on February 5, 2018 and are as follows: Fr. Steve Easterday, Chair of the Board and Vice President; Ron Meehan: President; Alan Smith, Treasurer; and Bill Thornburg. Secretary. Other members of the Board include: Bob Merrill, Dr. Jay Olsson, Tom Stallard, Anneke Bertsch, Jack Ryals and Steve Lacey. The By-Laws of the Foundation state that, “Persons serving on the Board of Directors at the time of the adoption of these Bylaws shall continue to serve on the Board of Directors. Upon the death, retirement, resignation or removal of a member of the Board of Directors, the Board of Directors shall nominate a replacement who must be approved by the Vestry of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.” The By-laws also state that “in no event shall the Board of Directors consist of less than seventy percent (70%) of confirmed communicants in good standing of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.”There are really three parts to the Foundation: (1) The General Endowment is the money from the sale of Trinity Towers, and is invested with Raymond James. On an annual basis, 4% of these investments go to the church for general budgetary support. (2) The Elder Endowment is the money that came from the Boyer Trust, and is invested with Raymond James. On an annual basis, 4% of these investments goes to the church to serve “seniors” in the church. In both (1) and (2) the income that comes to the church is to “enhance and supplement the ministries of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.” The Elder Endowment has the additional restriction that the money should be used to serve “seniors affiliated with Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.”

The $700,000 mortgage note on the Brevard Rentals properties was split so that half of the money came from the General Endowment and half from the Elder Endowment, and the payments will be split “half and half” between these two parts of the Foundation. From the standpoint of the Foundation the mortgage note is simply an investment with a 4.6% rate of return. (From the standpoint of the Church it was reasonable financing that avoided bank fees.)

The third part of the Foundation is really a subset of “(1) The General Endowment.” When the Trinity Towers buildings were sold, the Foundation provided owner financing on the Trinity Towers East and Trinity Towers West buildings. There are two “notes” with a total value of approximately $3.69 million. As part of the refinancing for the $20 million in renovations on the Trinity Towers buildings by Preservation of Affordable Housing Inc. (POAH), these notes were associated with a holding company, “POAH/Trinity Loan Holding Company, LLC.” This action was taken to facilitate the remodeling of the buildings while providing for ongoing cash flow into the Foundation. The notes themselves have a 4% return, but the actual amount that comes to the Foundation every year is based on

a “preferred distribution of all net earnings available for distribution with respect to a given year.” The Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Foundation is first on the list for preferred distributions, and is to receive $185,000 /year (plus accrued distributions from previous years). In 2017, the Foundation received $135,428 for the 2016 distribution. In 2018 the Foundation received $229,534 for the 2017 distribution. The key points about this “3rd part” of the Foundation are that: (a) the assets are not directly accessible by the Foundation and; (b) the return on these assets, as of this report, have only been used to increase the General Endowment in the Foundation. The “spending rule” currently in use by the Foundation board calls for 4% of the assets invested at Raymond James on October 31 of a given year to go to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, for the following year. Since the assets are segregated into the “General endowment” and the “Elder endowment” two different distributions are made, one from each source. In future years the value of the mortgage note on the “Brevard Rentals properties” will be included in these calculations. For the 2018 grants to the church, the Foundation board met on November 6, 2017. At that meeting the Board authorized the “Elder” distribution of $153,307 to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in 2018 in twelve equal monthly installments. The Board also authorized the “General” distribution of $155,379 to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in 2018 in twelve equal monthly installments. Those distributions were received by the Church in 2018. For the 2019 grants to the church, the Board of the Foundation met on November 5, 2018 and approved a total “Elder” distribution of $139,722 to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in 2019 in twelve equal monthly installments of $11,644. At the same meeting, the Board approved a total “General” distribution of $157,014 to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in 2019 in twelve equal monthly installments of $13,085.The major expenditures by the church from the “Elder” distributions are used to pay the compensation packages for the Assistant Rector for Pastoral Care and the Faith Community Nurse.Camp Wingmann, the church camp of the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida, received a total of $36,496 from the Foundation in 2018. The Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Foundation Board has an ongoing commitment to tithe on the gross proceeds of the sale of the three Trinity Towers Buildings. Whenever an owner financing payment comes into the Foundation, 10% of the payment is sent to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, which then forwards it on to Camp Wingmann after approval by the church Vestry. All told, as of this writing, the camp has so far received over $509,296 as the tithe on the sale. Camp Wingmann will be undertaking renovation of the old Camp Mess Hall (now named Yates Hall) with part of this money.2018 was also the year when the remodeling of Trinity Towers East and Trinity Towers South was finished for the Trinity Towers residents. The renovations were celebrated at Trinity Towers South on March 29, 2018 with two United States Senators in attendance. I was privileged to offer a prayer of thanksgiving. I rejoice in the changes that have happened in the buildings. Changes include: new kitchens and bathrooms, new windows, roof replacement, exterior painting, flooring upgrades, and energy-efficient features, including a new HVAC system. I continue to thank God for his incredible grace in providing the resources to both endow the parish and to remodel the buildings. It is one of the great privileges of my life to have served as a steward of these resources as God has multiplied his blessings for the well-being of our church and community.Faithfully,Fr. Stephen W. Easterday

Discipleship/Adult Education ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL (Jack Bottomley)Purpose: Encourage a closer walk with Christ by the understanding of Christian basic principles through the study of Scripture. We study books in their entirety and use them to guide us in our Christian life. In 2018, we were still in the study of the Book of Matthew and expect to finish it in January 2019. Each study is customized and based on creating a curriculum to achieve our goals of providing the students a balanced view of scripture with an emphasis on God’s plan of salvation. We are mixing the books from gospels, to doctrinal, historical, prophecy and wisdom books. For our next study we are considering one of the New Testament letters probably Hebrews. We would then return to the Old Testament to look at prophecy. During 2018 we had an average of 20 people attending with peaks of 30 or so depending on the time of year. We continue to have a loyal and enthusiastic group of attendees that are eager to learn scripture and experience how it affects their Christian walk.

CURSILLO (Chuck Pierce Sr.)2018 was an interesting year for the Cursillo Movement at Holy Trinity, The Diocese of Central Florida and the National Cursillo Ministry. We only had one candidate who attended a weekend this year. The final weekend of the year was a new and innovative weekend that begins on Friday night rather than Thursday night. The first 2-Day Weekend was done as a Coed Weekend and it went very well. The next two weekends - The men’s - 21st to the 24th of March and the women’s 28th to the 31st of March will be 2-Day weekends. Nothing is left out, it is still the same 15 Rollo (talks) 5 Meditation and Holy Communion daily. The cost has been reduced from $130 to $90. Please see or call Chuck Pierce or Cheryl Stephens.

HOME BIBLE FELLOWSHIP (Babs Ervin)Home Bible Fellowships are groups of Christians who gather together to share their faith, much like they did in the early days of Christianity. About twenty years ago there were a number of groups in Holy Trinity who met for this purpose. After some time groups began to disband, but our group is still going strong. We meet every other week from January through April, take a summer break and begin meeting again after Labor Day and continue to meet until Thanksgiving. We come together in our homes, share a meal with much lively conversation, and then read and discuss the scripture to be used the following Sunday. There is a great deal of trust among the group and it is agreed that all opinions are respected and that nothing that is said of a confidential nature leaves the group. We sometimes share our concerns and always pray together. Prayer is a very important part of our meetings. If anyone is interested in starting another group, either Connie Dow or I would be glad to talk to you further about what we do and how to get started.Submitted by Babs Ervin

MEN’S RETREAT (The Rev. Stephen Easterday)The Men’s Retreat is held in the fall on the grounds of Camp Wingmann Retreat and Conference Center in Avon Park, FL. The 10th Annual Retreat was held November 16-18, 2018 with 28 men from around the Diocese in attendance. This year’s theme was “I’m Talking to You, God: Seven Priests Teaching Prayer”. The Men’s Retreat is open to all men (and friends) in the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida, and is a time for the men of our churches to come together for great food, exploring the masculine side of God, hanging out with the guys, renewing a friendship with God, climbing on a ropes course or low-impact activity, fixing/building things around the camp, praying for healing and help, laughing around the campfire, making music, and much more!

LIBRARY (Susan Mann)Holy Trinity Lending Library contains about 2,000 books. Several donations were processed last year. It is maintained for the religious education and convenience of parishioners and staff.

WOMEN’S RETREAT (KC Crawley)• Held the weekend of March 9-11, the women of Holy Trinity and our diocese enjoyed a wonderful retreat at Canterbury

Guilds & Fellowship Groups FOYER GROUPS MINISTRY (Linda Edwards)November 2018 noted the 15th Foyer rotation. Our parish life was so busy during October we postponed the kick-off Super Supper to November. Five groups were formed with a total of 44 people signed up. Most of the groups decided to start their rotations after the holidays. We gather purely for social reasons; to break bread together, to enjoy one another’s company, to strengthen bonds of community and just to get to know other people with whom we might not otherwise interact. We had a total of 53 people sign up to create a total of six groups that are currently meeting. We welcome you to sign up in the fall.

FRIENDS AT LUNCH (Nina Keck)Friends at Lunch is Holy Trinity’s newest fellowship group. They meet the third Tuesday of every month at 12:30 p.m. at local area restaurants. ST. MARGARET’S GUILD (Barbara Dillery)St. Margaret’s Guild was formed by Fr. Alex Boyer in 1955. Fr. Boyer encouraged the members to care for each other, serve Holy Trinity and support the community. Those same rich traditions still hold true today. Our goal last year was to expand our group and enlarge our vision while maintaining our valued traditions. God has blessed us with many new members in 2018, and we have more than met our goal! With the influx of new members we are focusing on forming new friendships while maintaining the old. We have been having monthly themed luncheons which have been a lot of fun. St. Margaret’s Guild is stress free! We are revitalized and we are renewed! We offer a wonderful opportunity to meet some awesome ladies! We generally meet on the third Thursday of the month at 11:00am in either the Parish Hall or Lewis Hall. All ladies of their church and their friends are invited to attend. Please come and join us! Contact: Barbara Dillery: 321-676-2062.

Hospitality COFFEE HOUR (Janeen Merrill)The social hour, held in the Parish Hall between the 9:00 and 11:15am services on Sundays, offers an opportunity for general fellowship and light refreshments. It is hosted by 11 different ministries and groups from our church, including Daughters of the King, Family Choir, Friends of Holy Trinity, Health Ministry, HT Academy Families, Home Bible Fellowship, Newcomer Ministry, St. Cuthbert’s, St. Theresa’s, Vestry and Youth Group.

KITCHEN MANAGER’S REPORT (Daniel Farr)We have continued to keep the Parish Hall kitchen busy since its grand opening in January 2017 after an extensive remodeling. From weekly Wednesday night parish dinners feeding an average of 80 people, to soup suppers in Lent, funeral receptions hosted by St. Joanna’s Guild, Vacation Bible School snacks and Sunday Coffee Hour, we are regularly reminded of what a blessing the Nourishing Body and Soul Campaign was for bringing new life to this space!2018 also saw the use of the kitchen in support of Lift Up Young Lives as our great kitchen team cooked for two Murder Mystery Dinner fundraisers--one in the spring and one in the fall. Thank you to our great team of volunteers helping with set-up and clean-up on Wednesdays and at other times throughout the year, to those who help by laundering the towels and aprons, and to everyone for their care of the space. I look forward to and all the new ways we will put this space to use for the glory of God in 2019.Respectfully submitted, Daniel Farr, Kitchen Manager

NEWCOMERS MINISTRY (Linda Edwards)The Newcomer Ministry welcomed many individuals during the year. A dedicated group of volunteers make a personal welcome visit, delivering a welcome bag with information regarding our parish activities along with a jar of Florida Jelly and a tube of Sea and Ski sunscreen. The ministry hosts the coffee/social hour after the 9:00 service several times a year, inviting the newcomers to participate in bringing food. A huge “Thank You” to all that make Holy Trinity a truly warm and friendly church to all who enter its doors.

Music Ministry MUSIC REPORT (Eloise Evans)In 2018, Family Choir and the Bell Choir continued to meet regularly and add new members. We enjoyed eating Chef Daniel Farr’s delicious meals as we fellowshiped together as part of Whole Church Family Night. We joined with the Deanery and Accidental Grace in leading a Saturday night Epiphany Service. The Trinity Ringers gave a short concert of spirituals during The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. Lent saw the return of a celebration of Passover Seder Supper followed by Family Choir singing for the Maundy Thursday service. The Good Friday noon service was served by members of a combined Deanery choir, the Great Vigil of Easter was a combined effort of Family Choir, Treasure Kids, and Accidental Grace and Easter was glorious in the both the gym and the Church. Our annual Christmas party was held for the 25th time at the beautiful home of Sandy and Rich Hillyer on December 15. We joined parishioners for Caroling on December 16. Many current and former Family Choir members came out to sing for the five, eight and eleven o’clock Christmas Eve services with dinner served to choir and clergy between the five and eight services.

The Family Choir, directed by Eloise Evans and accompanied by Organist David Vogeding, rehearses in the music room every Wednesday from 6:30-7:45 PM. The bell choir, the Trinity Ringers, rehearses every Wednesday in Pearson Hall from 5:00 to 6:00 PM and plays once a month at 9:00 AM and at special services. The youth, Treasure Kids, bells, flute, cello and percussion have joined us several times this year for multi-generational, instrumentally enhanced anthems, something we would like to continue to do more frequently. The Choir leads congregational worship and sings anthems at the 9:00 AM Rite II service and at other special times. We enthusiastically encourage new members and the return of former members: many voices make beautiful worship! The Bell Choir is also actively seeking new members. Thank you to all the talented musicians who serve in these groups or provide special music on a regular basis!

Pastoral Care & Healing EVERYONE’S COUNSELING CENTER (Dr. Sharon Jones, Ph.D., LMHC; Cynthia Koppler, LCSW)It was another busy year at the Melbourne office of Everyone’s Counseling Center with full caseloads for both therapists. Within the Holy Trinity community, we supported the Women’s Retreat, the Adult Coffee Hour, the Health Ministry and Blue Christmas. In the community, we presented a seminar for Health First Hospice, responded to requests from Disney and Orlando International Airport, supported local law enforcement agencies, most notably Melbourne Police Department and continued to be a resource in numerous ways. A two day Peer Support training was presented at MPD to enhance internal responses for support for personnel. The Worshipping in Safety Program which was first presented at Holy Trinity was adopted by the Diocese of Central Florida to be available to all parishes. Interest in the program came from the Methodist church in Western North Carolina and the Episcopal Diocese of Florida.Referrals continue to come from physicians, attorneys, clergy of all denominations, EAP’s, insurance providers and former clients. Our most valued referrals are those which originate from the people of this parish. We appreciate your continuing support and ask for your continued prayers that this center may be a beacon to those in need of mental health support. In His Name,Sharon and Cynthia

FLOWER OUTREACH MINISTRY (Sandy Blankenship/Betty Shanks)Flowers from the altar are rearranged into smaller containers on Monday mornings. Another team of approximately 50 volunteers have delivered over 500 arrangements to parishioners and friends who have birthdays, anniversaries, are home bound, or hospital patients and “just because”. This is a “pay it forward” ministry and if you would like to be a part of the team, please call Sandy Blankenship (321-821-8536) or Betty Shanks (321-728-2703).

HEALTH MINISTRY (Carolyn Wilt, RN)Our Health Ministry Team continues to be active in our commitment to provide sources of wellness for our church community. During 2018, monthly blood pressure screenings were done the first Saturday and Sunday of every month, averaging about 35 regular parishioners. We have seen changes in the life styles of many of our members. Our Hatha Yoga is proving to be a popular healthy activity for our community. Monday 2:00pm exercise is easy (sitting mostly) but still moving. Come and see what can be done in a chair. Our open forums on Sunday morning were held in June with focus in safety. In July Dr. Jay Olsson spoke on pain management. August: Let your voice be heard with Kathy Ridner from Vitas Healthcare discussing end of life issues. She gave all attending “The Five Wish Book”. On December 4 we observed our third Blue Christmas. This is a service of healing the heart that is hurting, especially during the holidays. Our church website continues to provide health articles on different subjects each month. Find it under the “MINISTRIES” tab. The table in the narthex also is a place to pick up written health information. As the Faith Community Nurse, I continued to be available to help members individually with health needs. Our team members visit the different facilities providing prayer and encouragement to those in need. The health team is open to church members having a heart and willingness to work with the goal of wholeness in body, mind, and spirit of all God’s children. We welcome your input and suggestions. Our team meets the third Thursday of the month in Lewis hall at 6:00pm. For information, call Carolyn 321-723-5272. I’ll take this opportunity to say thanks to the team members that have been so helpful to me... I could not have accomplished most of these things on my own.HEALTH LENDING CLOSET Connected to the Health Ministry is the Health Lending Closet that makes available personal hygiene supplies and medical equipment. We have wheelchairs, walkers and many other medical products available, not only to our church members but also the community. The way this works: if you have a clean workable piece of medical equipment and want to give it away, let us know. It becomes part of the “stock” and when we hear of a need it is passed on to that person free of any charge. Phone 723-5272 for more information.

LAY EUCHARISTIC VISITORS (Deacon Stacey Westphal)Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEVs) bring communion from the Sunday Service of worship to those who are incapable, due to infirmity, of attending the regular service in church. A Eucharistic Visitor represents the church to those they visit by being living reminders that the sick and infirm are integral parts of the community, which is the Body of Christ. “We who are many are one as we share one bread and one cup,” is the constant reminder that what takes place when we eat the bread and drink the wine of communion something more than bread and wine enters our bodies. In some mysterious way, the Holy Spirit moves through the elements and nourishes our souls, making us one with God and each other.Every year there are more parishioners that are no longer able to attend church, but still want a continued connection with Holy Trinity. We have added several new licensed ministers this year. Each homebound parishioner that is visited is included in the Prayers of the People the week that they are visited. Our Lay Eucharistic Visitors also go to the hospital to bring communion to admitted parishioners on Sundays after church. LEV’s: Vern Lester, Carolyn Wilt, Dolores Faughnan, Sherry and Jack Ryals, Linda Edwards, Dinah Beverley, Mary Jo Chisler, Barbara Clarke, Dawn Shanks, Nina Keck, Sandra Bryan.

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: The Nimble Needles (Beverly Lewis)We are a group of approximately 17 women who meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the library from 10:00am-12:00pm. The Nimble Needles (as we call ourselves) knit or crochet prayer shawls, prayer squares, and sometimes baby blankets to be given to those “standing in the need of prayer.” Each gathering opens with prayer and closes with prayer requests. A prayer shawl is five feet long, thereby literally being able to wrap one in love, care, and concern. The prayer squares are five inches by five or six inches by six and have the following attached:

This prayer square has been prepared for you by the Nimble Needles of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in love. Reach for me in your pocket, book or car and know that you are not alone or afar. Place it on the arm of your favorite chair and feel God’s presence... always there.

New friends are always welcome… either to teach or be taught. “See I have engraved you on the palm of my hand.” Isaiah 49:16Submitted by Beverly Lewis

Service DAUGHTERS OF THE KING (Dinah Beverley)The Order of the Daughters of the King (DOK) is a spiritual sisterhood of women dedicated to a life of Prayer, Service and Evangelism. We have made a commitment to Jesus as our Savior, and we follow Him as Lord of our lives. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world. This year we have continued to pray for our clergy and congregation as well as Bible study. We were blessed this year to have had two quiet days, one in Lent and one in Advent, in the home of one of our members. We included members from several other DOK groups to join us. Our service projects have been dedicated to helping our community nurse as needed. Our ministry also made the contact calls to parish shut in list for the Christmas Caroling Project and helped set up the pot luck dinner that followed. Several of our members are busy crocheting barrier mats for the homeless made out of plastic bags and knitting hats for the cold night shelter. I encourage all women of the church to consider being empowered to profess Jesus as their Lord and Savior and join us at our monthly meeting on the third Tuesday of every month at 10:00am in Lewis Hall.

HOLY TRINITY THRIFT SHOP (Kathleen Walker)This past year has been a wonderful time of giving and sharing. I have heard from many of our volunteers what satisfaction they get out of working at the shop. In fact, a few have increased their shifts and/or offered to be on call to fill in empty spaces on the schedule. The joy of helping customers find just what they need (and can afford) is a great inspiration for our crew. Then there is the fact that we have a laugh or two every now and then. Did I actually say now and then? Silly me. What I have learned since I became manager is that the outreach the shop provides extends beyond the programs Holy Trinity Church provides. We are a place people come to, many on a daily basis to shop and to find fellowship. Our customers are like family and I am so proud to be part of a group made up of caring, hardworking folks. Bless you ‘worker bees’ keep up the good work. I am not including a financial report because I believe Kevin will do that. I wanted to report on the personal aspect of the shop and how much happiness it provides on a daily basis. We’re moving!!! Wow! Bigger store, more parking! 2019 is going to be fantastic!! Respectively submitted, Kathy Walker

ST. JOANNA’S GUILD (Church Office)At Holy Trinity, when a family has lost a loved one, the family has the support of St. Joanna’s Guild in the form of a reception at the church following the funeral. The members of St. Joanna’s Guild host the reception, prepare and serve the food, as well as set up and clean up before and after the reception. This ministry serves our parish families when they are most vulnerable and in need. Currently, the St. Joanna’s Guild has 60 members who are divided into five different teams. In 2018, these wonderful teams took turns hosting 16 receptions. More teams and team members, women and men, are needed. Please call the church office (723-5272) if you are interested in participating in this ministry.

Worship 9:00AM GREETERS (Cathryn Thornton)Currently we have twelve individuals/couples who greet at the 9:00 service on Sundays. These warm, friendly people welcome every church attendee and provide information regarding the church to visitors. If you are interested in being a part of this ministry, please contact the church office or Cathryn Thornton at 321-777-4473. It is approximately a half hour commitment once or twice a quarter, and no meetings!

ACOLYTE MINISTRY (Chris Arter, Vern Lester)We continue to be blessed with our Acolyte ministry. This past year, Dominick Mormile and Amy Crawley trained as new Acolytes!!! We are so excited to have them! Grace Peters is currently working diligently behind the scenes to become our fourth Master Acolyte. The dedication that is put forth by these Acolytes and their families is a true testament to the love for the Lord and for Holy Trinity Episcopal Church!

LEMS AND LECTORS (Janet Gray)A Licensed Eucharistic Minister (LEM) is a lay person licensed by the Bishop to administer the consecrated elements of the Eucharist. Here at Holy Trinity, the LEM is the chalice bearer at the service and serves the wine during Communion. Our LEMs are: Polly Adams, Chris Arter, Kevin Bartczak, Dinah Beverley, Frank Crawley, KC Crawley, Kate Crawley, Dolores Faughnan, Anne Fay, Jim Fletcher, Heather Goodwin, Janet Gray, George Henderson, Carla Hughes, Sarah Kimmerling, Vern Lester, Ann Lorelle, Lee Ann Meehan, Jackie Menzel, Marv Meyers, Bridget Morton, Jack Morton, Charles Pierce, Chuck Pierce, Margot Reed, Geri Riley, Fred Ruddle, Jeannette Russell, Steve Russell, Dawn Shanks, Peggy Snead, Kathryn Welch, Stephanie Rubin, Melissa Euziere, Mary B Stallard and Susan Welch.A Lector is a lay person trained in reading scripture who is appointed by the clergy person in charge of the congregation to read Lessons, Psalms or lead the Prayers of the People during a service. Lectors have a critical role in the celebration of the Liturgy as they proclaim the Word of God. The ministry of the Lector calls for a person to grow in a warm and loving knowledge of Scripture, the living word of God. There is no license required for this lay ministry. There are 49 active Lectors: Polly Adams, Kevin Bartczak, Tim Brown, Cathy DeMeyer, Julie Derrick, Connie Dow, Aidan Farr, Dolores Faughnan, Anne Fay, Jim Fletcher, Pat Franck, Heather Goodwin, Gary Grant, Janet Gray, Sandy Hillyer, George Henderson, Sue Hills, Carla Hughes, Harrison Jachec, Adalyn Jacobson, Randy Jacobson, Mark Kirschner, Nora Kirschner, Mitch Kreher, Sharon Lester, Vern Lester, Ann Lorelle, Richard Lorelle, Susan Mann, Jenifer Marx, Lee Ann Meehan, Jackie Menzel, Bridget Morton, Jack Morton, Marv Meyers, Ro Olsson, Amanda Peters, Grace Peters, Charles Pierce, Chuck Pierce, Margot Reed, Geri Riley, Fred Ruddle, Jack Ryals, Dawn Shanks, Alan Smith, Lisa Soloway Peggy Snead, and Gill Streatfield. We are grateful to Sandra Drummond, Pat Franck, Rich Franck, Marcia Macy, Tommy Rogers, Mary B Stallard and CW Sorrows for their past participation in these ministries, in addition to the many parishioners who assist with the readings for The Passion Gospel on Palm Sunday and Lessons and Carols during Advent. A special remembrance to Julie Derrick who passed through this life to celebrate an eternal life with Jesus. We remember her dedication to sharing the word of our Lord. “Through her own sacrifice of time, effort, and preparation, God’s living Word continues to be proclaimed to all of his people. May the Lord be in their hearts and on their lips that they may worthily proclaim His Holy Word.”

ST. ANNE’S ALTAR GUILD (Judy Henderson)Many people wonder what the Altar Guild does. We’re not a mysterious group; we are the “Guardians of the Sacred Spaces and Sacred Elements.” As the Guardians, we clean and maintain the elements used at all services that include the Eucharist. We polish brass and silver, set up the Eucharist for each service, ensure that wine and wafers are available, maintain the oil in the candles, and rotate the banners and change the hanging colors according to the church seasons. This year has been much like most other years. We prepare the Eucharist, decorate the church with flowers, attend weddings to ensure smooth flow of the wedding ceremony, and sew linens used on the Altars and in the Eucharist. The Flower Guild, Wedding Guild, and Linen Guild are all a part of the Altar Guild. We also attend funerals to ensure that elements are in place and flowers are properly placed and visitors to our church see a friendly face.Sadly this year we lost one of our long-time Altar Guild members, Julie Derrick. Other members moved away or stepped down after many years of service. We are always looking for new members for the Altar Guild, Flower Guild, Linen Guild, and Wedding Guild. If you think you might want to help, contact me and we’ll find a place for you. No experience needed.

Outreach & Missions (The Rev. Stephen Easterday)Outreach efforts were strong at Holy Trinity in 2018. Thank you to all who worked so hard on Outreach in 2018, especially to those who were involved in hands-on activities such as: volunteering at Daily Bread; organizing special collections for UTO and the Least Coin; making Christmas stockings for Devereux and prayer shawls; and giving personal belongings such as blankets, food and toiletries. I am sure that I am leaving out many acts of kindness, but these actions listed are enough to illustrate the great heart of Holy Trinity in Outreach. I extend a special thank you to our Deacon, The Rev. Stacey Westphal, who through her prayers and leadership constantly keep before our parish “the needs, concerns and hopes of the world.”

They are in constant need of blankets and this ministry helps the homeless keep warm.

THE LIGHTHOUSE BIN (BRING IN NECESSITIES) & THE LITTLE RED WAGON - Sharing Center(Dean Wesenberg & Linda Edwards)The Lighthouse BIN (Bring in Necessities) is located in the Narthex. This is where we all can continue to donate new and unopened basic hygiene supplies for the homeless… shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lotion and deodorant, to name a few. The Little Red Wagon in the Narthex is where we continue to collect non-perishable food. Both hygiene and food are donated to the Sharing Center in Melbourne and given directly to those in need. Thanks and blessings to all who have contributed to the Red Wagon and Lighthouse BIN in 2018.

BUENA VIDA MINISTRIES (Deacon Stacey Westphal)We hold monthly Deacon led communion services.

DAILY BREAD (Kevin Bartczak)Daily Bread is a non-profit agency in Melbourne whose mission is to provide dignity and quality of life for the hungry and needy who are less fortunate than most of us, insuring that everyone who wants it has access to the food and services they need to become self-sufficient. As well as offering counseling services, shower facilities, and maintaining a very inexpensive thrift store on-site, Daily Bread provides their clients with a balanced and excellently prepared hot meal 365 days a year. For many years, Holy Trinity has been fielding a 9-11 person team once a quarter on the fifth Saturday of the month to serve the meal, a very humbling experience. We are always proud of and thankful for our great Daily Bread serving team. We can always use more volunteers, so please contact the office if you would like to be a part of our team.

DEVEREUX MINISTRIES (Mike & Becky Crews)Our church continues to support Devereux at Christmas. This is our 12th year of bringing smiles to their faces and filling the 145 stockings that our HTEC ladies make for them. This year the donations of items and money reached $3000. Each child received candies, crackers, toothpaste, toothbrushes, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hair brushes and deodorant. We also donated different game balls for their outside activities. Thank you again for your generous support.

HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL ACADEMY (Academy Staff)Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, a school founded and sustained in the Episcopal tradition, offers an academically challenging environment that reflects the joy and peace of Christian values. The Lower School serves students in Preschool through 6th grade at 50 West Strawbridge Avenue. The Upper School serves students in 7th through 12th grade at 5625 Holy Trinity Drive. The 2018-2019 Operating Budget is $14,430,000. Of the school’s 870 students, 17 percent received need-based financial assistance with more than $1,200,000 awarded this school year. Students were offered 28 Advanced Placement courses with 96 percent of students taking one or more AP courses in junior or senior year. In addition to academic excellence, students excel in athletics and the arts. Between 2014 and 2018, thirteen percent of graduates went on to play collegiate athletics. As well as fostering academic success, Holy Trinity strives to develop responsible, caring, compassionate and connected young people. This success comes through the school’s daily chapel services, character education and meaningful outreach in our local community and beyond. The Class of 2018 completed more than 18,230 hours of volunteer service during their time at Holy Trinity.Since its founding in 1957, Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy has grown to become the premier independent school in Brevard County – building a tradition of high academic and spiritual programs that focus on developing the whole child. The school has established an environment that encourages every child to reach his or her highest potential.

LIFTUP YOUNG LIVES: Empowering Future Generations (Lisa Soloway and Deacon Stacey Westphal)After a long time planning to start LiftUp Young Lives, a ministry that serves disadvantaged teens and young adults who are referred by the Department of Children and Families programs, we launched LiftUp in August with five students. Classes were held on Wednesday evenings after WCFN on life skills. On Saturday evening after their attendance at spiritual classes, they attended the Saturday night service in church. They worked hard and learned a great deal, and upon graduation in December they were all given a laptop computer. All the students will return January 16, 2019, for further learning and mentoring during Level 2. They will participate in an additional 90 hours of teachings, weekly mentoring, two personal growth book assignments, attending the Say Yes to Jesus Revival Conference in February, and two community service projects before graduating May 4, 2019.To support this program we held several fundraisers, a raffle, two murder mystery dinners, and an alternate giving program. We also were thankful for the monetary donations that were made from the parishioners at Holy Trinity. We have also been able to secure monies from Amazon Smile and Dlyted. When you purchase from these sites, they donate a percentage of your purchase to LiftUp, and the great advantage is it does not cost you anything. Look for more ways to be able to support LiftUp in 2019.
