Classroom Spotlights—8th Grade
Many of our 8th grade students have been blessed to receive scholarships from our Catholic High Schools. Scholarships were awarded for Academic Excellence, Leader-
ship, School Involvement, Excellence in a Foreign Language and Athletics.
Bishop Canevin: Ian Lecker – Carey Scholarship (half-tuition renewable for 4 years) Chiara Golomb – Fr. Arrupe Scholarship Gabriel Miller – Maura Schwab Scholarship Anthony Cicchino – Mr. Cygrymus Scholarship Jillian Frosell – Mrs. Doris Hesselberg Scholarship Junior Achievement Award: Renee LaGrosse will receive the Junior Achievement Cardinal Wuerl Scholarship, $3,000 toward her tuition at Bishop Canevin High School.
Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic: In addition to attending Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School, Connor Bridges has been accepted into the EXCEL Hockey Academy. The EXCEL Hock-ey Academy is for students with an outstanding academic background who re-ceive world class hockey training that will maximize each student athlete's po-tential to advance to top tier colleges and universities.
Central Catholic: Joseph Rees and Ethan Williams have each been awarded the De La Salle Merit Scholarship at Central Catholic High School. The scholarship is awarded to applicants who belong to a Catholic parish, demonstrate high academic achievement, and have strong Placement Test results. The award is half-tuition re-newable for four years. Joseph and Ethan are two of the five recip-ients this year.
Oakland Catholic High School: Audrey Flanagan will be attending Oakland Catholic High School and was awarded the Academic Excellence Award.
