We were rewarded for our wonderful
participation in the Pennies for Patients
competition supporting the Leukemia
and Lymphoma Society last spring, so we
will be offering pizza lunch for all stu-
dents on Nov. 24th. You can still send in
a lunch if needed or order the free hot
lunch from the school district. This
lunch will be in leu of our Traditional
Thanksgiving Faith Family
Luncheon which is just not
feasible with all the COVID
restrictions.
Friday Masses
Our 5th/6th graders participated in our
first individual classroom Mass this past
week. I was a very special day for those
students. Other students were able to
access the Mass via Zoom back in their
classrooms, and they were also able to
receive the Holy Eucharist. As long as
we are operating in the Purple Tier, we
will continue to have individual class-
rooms (cohorts) participate in the in-
person Mass. 3rd/4th grades are sched-
uled for December 4th. Parents, families
and friends are always welcome to join in
with our school Masses, we will present
it via HR Parish Facebook Live in the fu-
ture.

TK/K
Students are getting into the swing of perfecting our
class norms! Great job students! Students learned
about how we Celebrate America by discussing the
importance of Rosa Parks, Constitution Day, and In-
dependence Day. In Science, students were taught
about the different types of weather and we were
able to go outdoors and observe the weather pat-
terns.
1st/2nd
Congratulations to Valentina Barrera, Harper Cruz,
Olivia Hoffmann, Gissel Marzal, Annabelle Meraz,
Hayley Phelps, Elizabeth Rios, Daisy Soto and Luna
Tamayo for earning 90% or above on their chart
test. Also, congratulations to Yadiel Bonilla, Isabella
Marsh, Brayden Ramos, Ajay Takhar and Kacey Yip
for earning 90% or above on their spelling test. Way
to go! In Grammar, we have been learning about
nouns and punctuations. The students also finished
their science animal vocabulary index cards in class
this week. Home a study guides on our animal sci-
ence unit will be sent home after the Thanksgiving
break.
3rd/4th
Students are progressing along in
their class saint report. They have
completed an informal outline (two-
column notes), reviewed their ru-
bric, and began their first draft. Math
3 students began their topic on mul-
tiplication fluency and Math 4 stu-
dents have been working on mul-
tiplication skills involving breaking
apart, compensation, rounding,
and estimation. In ELA students
have been hard at work learning
vocabulary terms, reviewing sub-
jects and
predicates,
coordinating conjunctions, and
CUPS (capitalization, usage,
punctuation, and spelling). In
Social studies students are reviewing the continents,
oceans, hemispheres, and map skills. In art students
created foliage friends with the abundantly beautiful
fall leaves peppered throughout campus. There are
several aspiring artists in the class!!
5th/6th
In History, students learned about
some Native American tribes and
how the European Explorers had
an impact on them. They had to
create posters on their assigned
tribe and present it to the class. In
5th grade math students finished
up topic 6, learning how to multi-
ply decimals. In 6th grade, they
finished topic 5 which covered
dividing whole numbers and deci-
mals. We finished reading our first
class novel, The Whipping Boy, and
students created an Amazon List-
ing that informs buyers about the
book. They created a paper version for the class
novel with pictures, reviews, recommendations, and
a summary of the book.

Classrooms Cont. -7th/8th
In science, students were outside and acted as scien-
tists. They created a field guide for various leaves,
and then gave them a new scientific name and com-
mon name, as the culminating activity for our chap-
ter on classification. In religion we discussed
strengths, goals, and ambitions. Students created
their own cards with some strengths, one goal for
this year, one ambition for their life, and a symbol
that represents them. To finish up the week, stu-
dents finally got to meet with their TK and Kinder
buddies. They brought them
a homemade Thanksgiving
card and had some time to
interview each other. On
Saturday 7th and 8th graders
came out to help
deliver din-
ners to cars
during our
drive thru fundraiser. They did an
amazing job!

support one of our local
businesses and HRS! See

tails.
Health and Safety Protocols
Please continue adhering to social distancing, wearing
masks, and washing regularly while away from school
to slow the spread of the Coronavirus. This is espe-
cially important as families travel out of the area and
make contact with extended families and friends dur-
ing the upcoming holidays. Please continue to screen
students at home. If your student does have symp-
toms, keep them home and follow protocols out-
lined in our Return to School Plan and Waiver Applica-
tion. Call us in the office if you have questions or
need any support. Please see our new, updated
Student Decision Symptom Tree found on our
COVID webpage and below.
