John is an attorney at Warner Norcross & Judd and served as MI Solicitor General from 2011-2013. He has been a guest on Holy Family Radio to discuss religious liberty and the U.S. Supreme Court. Angela is a stay-at-home mom, which we all know doesn’t adequately describe all she does! They have been blessed to share their mar-riage covenant for 20 years this summer. They also have the joy and privilege of raising five children, ages 7 to 16.

The Bursches responded with an enthusiastic “yes” when asked to serve as the Grand Rapids chair couple. “We have been listening to and supporting Holy Family Radio since its beginning and have encouraged others to do so as well. The edification we have gained from the programming is a daily blessing in our lives. There have been countless conversations in the van or at the dinner table about things we’ve heard. Many conversations start with ‘Today I heard on Holy Family Radio.....’ One day, our youngest was helping cook dinner while we listened to the radio. With 3 other children practicing instruments, it was a bit too much sound. I shut off the radio and she said, ‘Why did you shut it off Mom? I really like listening to what he was saying about Mother Mary!’”

“Our journey of faith began in our families, continued in college at WMU where we met, and in graduate school at the University of Minnesota as a married couple. We returned to Michigan in 1998, first attending St. John Vianney and now Holy Family in Caledonia. It is humbling to reflect on all that we have learned and the ways we have grown in our faith. As we seek to learn and challenge ourselves more, we consistently turn to Holy Family Radio.”

Craig & Beth Martin for the 91.5 FM Kalamazoo AreaCraig and Beth Martin were asked to be the Kalamazoo area chair couple this spring for without

them, there would be no Catholic radio in the Kalamazoo Diocese! Craig’s hard work and perseverance were especially needed in obtaining FCC licenses for the Vicksburg/Kalamazoo station and the Bedford/Battle Creek station. What a blessing this couple is in so many ways!

The Martins have resided in the Kalamazoo area since 1980 where they have raised 4 children, 3 of whom have blessed them with 11 grandchildren, while the fourth responded to God’s call to the priest-hood and was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Kalamazoo in 2011.

In addition to family-related activities, they are both actively involved with Newman’s Bookshoppe and the Catholic Information Center of Southwest Michigan along with the life of their local parish.

Craig also serves as General Counsel of WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone, while Beth is an interior designer.

These words, from the twentieth chapter of St. John’s gospel, and proclaimed on Divine Mercy Sunday, are spoken to each and every one of us! We who have experienced the resurrec-tion are now sent by the risen Lord Jesus Christ to proclaim what we have seen and heard.

While the message we are called to proclaim remains unchanged, the means of com-municating this message continues to evolve. Praise God for the gift of Catholic Radio in West Michigan which helps us fulfill this mandate from Jesus!

When I listen to Holy Family Radio, my faith is strengthened and I am edified by what I hear. When I introduce others to the station, not only will they grow in their faith, but I am evangelizing as the Lord instructed me to do.

Our Catholic radio station continues growing and continues being an effective means of introducing Jesus and the mysteries of our faith to all in Western Michigan. Thank you to the volunteers, to you who offer financial support, to you who introduce others to the station, to you who pray for this ministry!
