Sample specification.

Luminaire,The luminaire shall consist of aheavy-duty, cast aluminum fitterassembly which supports a spunaluminum top canopy. A twistlock,polycarbonate or acrylic opticalassembly shall be attached to the topcanopy.The optical assembly shall consist of aspun aluminum ref lector/ref ractorsupport. The prismatic refractor shallbe of a r.rolded. borosilrcate glass 85s"in diameter and 73116" deep, withprecisely formed prisms producing a-

distribution (Type l- long andnarrow, Type lll - asymrnetric, Type V -symmetric).The optical assembly shall be securedto the upper spun aluminum canopy bymeans of a three-position, internallatching system. These latches shallengage mechanical retainers which areattached to the upper hemisphere.One of the latch assemblies shall beprovided with an externally accessible,self-retained threaded fastener, whichshall prevent accidentaldisengagement ot the opticalassembly.The top canopy shall contain theintegral ballast which shall operate alamp from a- nominalprimary supply voltage.The ballast shall have the followingelectrical characteristics:1. Ny'inimu m ambient startingtemperature shall be 20'F.2. Starting line current shall be lessthan operating current.*3. Power factor shall be 90% plus.4. Lamp wattage requlation shall bet-"h aI ! o/"primary line voltage fluctuation.5. The core and coil insulation systemshall be UL listed Class H (180'C).6. Non-PCB dielectric capacitors shallbe rated at 90"C.

7. All ballast components shall bepositioned for maximum heatdissipation to achieve fu ll design life,and mounted to a unitized removableassembly.(For complete ballast data, refer to thetables of electrical characteristics inthe Holophane Ballast Handbook,publication HL-301.)All internal wiring connections to befactory-term inated.The installed porcelain mogulbaselampholder shall have a nickel-plated,copper screw shell, lamp grip withspring loaded center contact, withwelded connection, stranded coppersupply leads type SFF-2, #16AWG,'150'C, 600V.The ballast and larnp compartmentsshall be separated by an internal,formed aluminu m reJlector finishedwith high temperature, gloss whiteenamel and oven cured.

The complete luminaire shall be ULlisted for outdoor applications andlabeled. 'Sultable for Wet Locations."Luminaire to be Holophane catalognumber-.Pole.The luminaire shall be mounted:1. To a Holophane, round taperedpole (aluminum or steel)at a mounting height of

-.Pole to support lu minaire{s).Finish to be specified in catalognu mber.2. To a wall, using wall mountingbracket #07517. (Color to matchluminaire, specify BZ3 or BLK.)3. To existing poles, which have an armend diameler of 2'LPS. or I'e l.P.Swith optional adaptor.
