Monday 17th February Thirsk We take a trip to the delightful town of Thirsk in ‘Herriott Country’. The cobbled Market Place dates from medieval times and is still the centre of commerce in Thirsk. Most of the shops are still around the market place extending north up Kirkgate to “The World of James Herriot”, Museum and the spectacular 15th century St Marys church. Today, you can enjoy Market Day, offering a variety of stalls selling everything from fruit and vegetables to health food, clothing and hardware.

Tuesday 18th February The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and The National Science & Media Museum Today we travel to the heart of Yorkshire’s Bronte Country for a ride on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway through gorgeous Yorkshire scenery to Oakworth, made famous as the ‘Railway Children Station’. We return afterwards to Bradford for a visit to The National Science & Media Museum, home to more than 3 million items of historical and cultural significance. The collection is devoted to the science and culture of image and sound.

Wednesday 19th February YorkWe visit the ever popular city of York today, to enjoy at your leisure. World renowned for its spectacular cathedral, exquisite architecture and fabulous shopping. Take your time to explore its cobbled streets, before heading back to the hotel for the final night of our stay.

Monday 20th April DepartingWe depart Lincolnshire this morning and start our journey to the TLH Carlton Hotel in Torquay, taking comfort stops en-route.

Tuesday 21st April Dartmoor Zoo & BuffetAfter breakfast we head to Dartmoor Zoo for the day. The Zoo has a vast array of animals, everything from Chincha the Jaguar to Kelloggs the snake. The Zoo also boasts a wonderful 33 acres of woodland, celebrating a wide range of exotic and native animals including the biggest variety of Big Cats in the South West of England. From tigers to tortoises, you’re bound to find some of your favourites! We even have lunch covered for you today with a buffet in the Jaguar restaurant. After your animal filled day, we head back to the hotel in time to freshen up for your evening meal.

Wednesday 22nd April Day at Leisure You get the chance to relax and enjoy Torquay today. Whether you choose to just have a nice stroll around the harbour and pier, or hop aboard the Western Lady and take the 35 minute boat ride across the bay to Brixham.

Thursday 23rd April Cockington CourtWe will be visiting Cockington Court Country Park & Gardens today. This is our second visit to the historic manor house with over twenty craft studios, tea rooms, walled art garden, tudor rose garden and contemporary art gallery. You will see artists and craft makers at work, from glass blowers creating amazing works of art to a blacksmith clinking in his forge. There is also a chocolatier at work to get your taste buds tingling. After we’ll then head back to the hotel for our evening meal.

Friday 24th April ReturningSadly, our time here in Torquay has come to an end, so after breakfast we head back to Lincolnshire taking comfort stops en-route.

Monday 4th May Quince Honey Farm & BarnstapleThis morning we visit Quince Honey Farm to see how honey is produced and harvested. Here you will get the chance to experience innovative observation and mechanical hives all with safe viewing with 18 colonies to observe! Whilst here you will get the chance to have some FREE tastings or perhaps grab yourselves a traditional Devon Cream Tea before we head to Barnstaple for a bit of free time in this historic town.

Tuesday 5th May Sheppy’s & Cheddar GorgeToday we head to Sheppy’s House of cider, home to the full range of Sheppy’s finest award-winning Somerset ciders as well as home-bred English Longhorn Beef and a wealth of locally produced artisan foods. Experienced staff will offer you a taste of the ciders and help you choose delicious breads, cheese and other country delights to take home. After a tour and tipple, we travel, taking in the amazing scenery of the Cheddar Gorge where we will stop for a visit to The Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company where we get to experience Cheddar being handmade.. The tour ends at the unique Taster Bar, where all cheeses are available to try. After such a fun filled day, we head back to the hotel to relax and enjoy our evening meal.

Wednesday 6th May Sidmouth & Otterton MillToday, we travel over the Blackdown Hills to the famous Jurassic Coast and the lovely Victorian resort of Sidmouth. In the afternoon, we head for the last of our local delicacies, a traditional Devon Cream Tea served in the lovely surroundings of the historic Otterton Mill. This is THE place in Devon to experience the ancient traditions of flour milling, bread baking and much more before we head back to our hotel for our evening meal.

Tuesday 1st September A day of leisure in ChesterChester is arguably the richest city in Britain for archaeological and architectural treasures. There is plenty to do in this beautiful city. Chester Cathedral with its Falconry Centre and Chester Castle to name a few. You may just want to have a bit of retail therapy in some of the many department stores, such as Debenhams, Marks & Spencer’s or Primark. There is even the opportunity to get up and close and discover the inner secrets and history of Chester, covering nearly 2000 years on a tour of the city, on foot, with a real life ‘Roman’, on a sightseeing bus or boat. There is plenty here to suit everyone’s taste. Today, the choice is yours!

Wednesday 2nd September Free Time in BlackpoolAfter the last couple of busy days, we thought you might like to enjoy Blackpool at your own leisure. You could enjoy fish & chips on the pier followed by an ice-cream or take time to visit some of the attractions.

Thursday 3rd September Lancaster Castle and Williamson Park & Ashton MemorialWe head to Lancaster Castle this morning for a guided tour where history comes to life! We will encounter tales of persecution, incarceration, punishment and execution, which has been lived out over the centuries within the confines of Lancaster Castle. After our historic journey we will head to Williamson Park in Lancaster, which is home to the iconic Ashton Memorial and 54 acres of park and woodland, with spectacular views across Morecombe Bay.

Wednesday 21st October Plas Cadnant & Beaumaris CastleThis morning, we enjoy a scenic coastal journey before driving over the Menai Bridge to the Isle of Anglesey, where we visit one of North Wales’ best kept secrets, the hidden world of Plas Cadnant Gardens. We enjoy exploring the stunning gardens before we travel to nearby Beaumaris with its medieval castle, lovely beach and Victorian pier. After such a lovely day, we head back to our hotel in time to freshen up before our evening meal.

Thursday 22nd October Bodnant Gardens & Betws-y-CoedWe spend this morning at Bodnant Gardens, a stunning 80 acre garden with grand terraces and views of Snowdonia, full of interesting and beautiful plants from all over the world. We then visit Betws-y-Coed, North Wales’ most popular inland resort, with time at leisure to explore this picturesque Victorian village.

It was once the ancestral home of the colourful Clifton family, spanning over four centuries. We then take a short journey to Preston, where we can have a bite to eat and browse the shops at leisure before heading back to our hotel to celebrate Christmas Day with a traditional Christmas Dinner, sparkling wine and evening entertainment.

Wednesday 25th November Day of Leisure & Afternoon Tea in Blackpool Tower Today we enjoy a day at leisure in Blackpool. You could start some Christmas shopping or indulge in Blackpool’s many exciting attractions. In the afternoon we visit Blackpool’s iconic Tower Ballroom and enjoy a spot of Afternoon Tea.

Thursday 26th November Day Excursion to Wigan Today is your chance to fully indulge in some serious Christmas shopping or just take it easy and enjoy the delights Wigan has to offer. Terms & Conditions

Door to Tour Transfer Service: We appreciate you want to be off on your holidays as soon as your bags are packed. This is why on the morning of departure we aim to get you on your way as soon as possible. We are offering a door to tour collection service included in the price of your holiday. We shall inform you of your collection time and send you your luggage labels no less than 2 weeks prior to departure. We ask you to be punctual with your collection times and have your suitcases ready to be loaded into your transfer vehicle to avoid any delay to stated departure times.

Itineraries: We reserve the right to alter holiday itineraries due to valid unforeseen circumstances and appreciate your understanding on this matter. Further details on itineraries are available on request for passengers with restricted mobility. All admission fees are included unless stated otherwise. No refunds are available if passengers are unable or unwilling to take part in the included holiday itineraries.

Booking Procedure & Payment: Provisional bookings can be made by phone or in person at our Mablethorpe booking office. We shall hold your reservation for 10 working days until the deposit of £40.00 is received. The total balance of the holiday must be paid 8 weeks prior to departure. If no deposit is received then we reserve the right to release the provisional booking. Upon receipt of deposit we shall send you a booking confirmation with the full details of your reservation, if incorrect please advise as soon as possible. You will also be provided with a date to which the full balance must be paid. If the balance is not paid by the date stated then we have the right to regard the booking as cancelled. We accept payment by cash, cheque or credit/debit card.

Passports: For our European holidays a full valid UK passport is required. The name on the passport must match that of the person travelling and the name stated on the travel documents. The passport must also be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the holiday return date.

Payment protection insurance: Grayscroft include this protection within the price of all our holidays. This offer covers against all payments made in the unlikely event that Grayscroft cannot provide the booking due to insolvency.

Travel Insurance: We strongly advise you to purchase separate travel insurance as soon as you have booked, to cover you for the duration of your holiday. This will usually also cover your payments should you need to cancel, due to unforeseen circumstances. Please see our cancellation policy below.

Special Requests: At the time of booking please inform us of any special requirements/requests you may have. We shall do our best to ensure they are met however we cannot make any guarantees. Please note certain requests such as sea view rooms may incur an additional supplement.

Hotel & Room Facilities: Grayscoft Coaches provides information on hotel facilities in good faith, however we cannot be held responsible if such facilities are not available throughout the period of your stay. Lifts to all floors are available when stated, most hotels have lifts to selected rooms. If ground floor rooms or rooms adapted for disabled use are required, this request must be made at time of booking.

Changes to your holiday: If there are any changes to the published details of your holiday we shall inform you as quickly as possible. If there is any alteration to price we accept to absorb up to 2% of any increased costs, however we reserve the right to pass on additional charges to our customers.

Cancellation by Company: All holidays run to sufficient bookings, if in the unfortunate event a cancellation occurs, you shall be informed no less than 4 weeks prior to departure. Customers have the right to choose either a full cash refund or travel vouchers which can be used to purchase future trips.

Cancellation by Customer: In the unfortunate event you have to cancel your holiday with us, the following cancellation charges apply:Prior to 42 days before departure £40 per person After 42 days before departure No refunds to be given

Bus Passes: Bus passes are not accepted on any holidays.

Departure Times: Neither responsibility, nor claim will be entertained by Grayscroft for passengers who arrive late at any departure points.

Seat Belts: For safety reasons, please use the safety belts provided onthe coach.

Leaving the Coach: Please do not leave the coach on any of our trips except at refreshment stops or at the excursion/holiday venue.

Children: For safety reasons, unless accompanied by an adult, children under 15 years of age cannot be carried on excursions or holidays.

Conduct of Passengers: The driver is responsible for the safety of the vehicle. Any passengers who’s conduct is in breach of statutory regulations will be removed on the drivers authority. For Private Hires, the hirer/party leader will be held responsible for all damages, passenger conduct and group attendance at time of departure from all venues.

Scooters and wheelchairs: We aim to assist with the handling of wheelchairs as far as possible, however we can only guarantee the handling of lightweight, foldable wheelchairs. Electric wheelchairs will be considered providing they are lightweight and collapsible. Passengers are responsible for their own wheelchairs and must be available to advise and assist the driver with the assembly/disassembly. It is also the passenger’s responsibility to advise us of their intention to take the wheelchair with reasonable notice and ensure the suitability of their holiday for wheelchairs.

Luggage: Our policy is to assist with passenger luggage handling. We ask that on all holidays passengers only bring one medium sized suitcase per person weighing 15kg maximum plus one small piece of hand luggage.

Smoking: All coaches operate a strict no smoking policy at all times.

Alcohol: Under no circumstances may alcoholic drinks be carried or consumed on the vehicle without the express permission of the company.

Mobile Phones: All mobile phones must be muted whilst the coach is in motion to avoid distraction for the driver and for the consideration of fellow passengers.

Punctuality/conduct: Although our aim is to provide you with the maximum freedom possible on your holiday, we do have to insist on acceptable standards of behaviour that do not offend or cause inconvenience to other passengers. We also ask our passengers to be punctual with meeting times and departure times. In extreme circumstances we reserve the right to refuse admittance or re-admittance to passengers whose conduct falls below the acceptable standards.

Personal Entertainment Devices: For the consideration of fellow passengers and to avoid distraction for the driver, we kindly ask that any personal entertainment devices are to be operated with headphones to a suitable volume level.

Vehicle Variation: We reserve the right to alter the size or specification of the coach subject to the number of bookings.

Routes: All routes and refreshment stops are selected at the company/driver’s discretion.

Drivers Hours/Rest Periods: The driving hours and rest periods are strictly controlled and current regulations MUST be complied with.

Personal Property: We cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to personal property, however, lost property that is handed in can be claimed from our Mablethorpe booking office.

Complaints: All complaints may be received in writing by our Mablethorpe booking office. All complaints will be acknowledged with the aim of being resolved within 28 days of the complaint being made. On Holiday Tours, any complaints hotel related must be resolved with the hotel in question during the period of stay.

Breakdown/Delay: Grayscroft Coaches gives advice on journey times in good faith but does not guarantee the completion of a journey at a specific time. In the event of a breakdown, we aim to keep the delay to an absolute minimum.

Legal: This contract shall be governed by construed and interpreted in accordance with English Law. Should any part of it be unenforceable or inapplicable, this does not detract from the validity of the remainder of the contract.

Itineraries: We reserve the right to alter the day and timing of itineraries stated in this brochure however you will be informed of any such changes upon departure.
