Our grandparents usually didn’t go abroad on holiday. They often spent their holidays in the village or with their family. They often stayed at home and helped their parents or grandparents on the farm.

Only the rich people could afford a better vacation. They went to the seaside or to the mountains.

In those days, people usually travelled in order to find a job.

OURHOLIDAYS

Now, many people go on holiday abroad. We, our friends or family can travel to different countries. It is possible through various means of transport.

To go abroad you need your ID card but to travel on holiday to the USA for instance, you need a passport.

Today a lot of people go for their holidays to the seaside. They can swim there , sail a boat, go windsurfing and sunbath.

Winter holidays people often spend in the mountains. They can ski there. Do you like skiing? We do .
