On returning to the holiday club we will turn our items into a beautiful collage with labels identifying each natural object. Cost: Free Bishops Park: Visiting Fulham Palace grounds to play fun group interactive games, such as, Grandmothers Footsteps, Duck-Duck-Goose, team ball games, handball and Traffic Lights (The children will take turns to hold up red, yellow and green circles, while their friends run around...keeping an eye on the traffic lights. Each child who is last to stop will sit out of the game. ) Cost: Free Science Museum Gardens: We are going to explore the pond life and live beehive trees, along with the small collection of sheep. Cost: Free Putney Library: We are going to enjoy a pre- arranged story time with one of the librarians, as well as spending time reading our favourite stories and going in search of new literacy adventures. Richmond Park: Visiting Pembroke Lodge for a Nature treasure hunt.

Holiday Club: Exploring Art Forms

Monday 23rd July Tuesday 24th July Wednesday 25th July Thursday 26th July Friday 27th July

Visiting Tate Modern: We are going to visit the Tate Modern to see Anthea Hamilton’s ‘The Squash Exhibition’. This artist was inspired by photographs that she found in a book when looking for improvisational theatre from the 1960’s. Anthea uses live sculptures!

National Gallery: To view the ‘Take One Exhibition’. Children inspired: This year’s exhibition takes you on a magical odyssey of creativity, encountering women of power and mythical and magical sea creatures along the way.

Sculpture Walk: We are going to go on a sculpture walk from Putney to Wandsworth in search of 9 sculptures by Alan Thornhill. The children will have a photo of each sculpture and will tick them off as we go along.

Pitter Potter: We are going to put our own artistic skills to the test while decorating our own mugs.

Polka Theatre: We are going to see the 11am production of ‘Double Act’. Meet Ruby and Garnet. They’re twins, identical and inseparable and do absolutely EVERYTHING together. But their lives are about to change. Vicky Ireland’s funny and gripping stage adaptation, based on Jacqueline Wilson’s multi award-winning book, was an instant hit when it premiered at Polka in 2003 and loved by thousands of children during a UK tour.

Holiday Club: Exploring Hidden London

Visiting the Bank of England Museum:

Gold Rush: We are going to explore the museum while trying to solve a puzzling case with the help of a mysterious map.

Cost: Free

Visiting the Postal Museum and Mail Rail:

We are hoping to book a ride on a 75 year old mail rail, once vital in Britain’s communication network, hidden from view.

Cost: £10:45

Activity Day:

We will be encouraging the children to use their imagination while learning about different types of codes, such as morse code. The children will then create their own secret codes. Later in the day we will be creating our own stories about ‘Secret London’, including a picture sequence activity.

The Great Fire of London trail: We will follow the famous trail and explore the parts of London that were affected by the Great Fire. We will also go and view the memorial monument.

If your child has a camera, this would be a great day for them to take photos of some of the unusual street names, such as Milk and Pudding Lane.

Visiting the Museum of London: We will be briefly learning about the effect of the world wars, plagues and Fire of London on the surrounding areas (1550’s-1660’s). We will also explore the 3 great myths of the Fire of London.

Holiday Club: Sports for All

Morden Hall Park: We have lots of time to spend in this lovely play area, including wooden tree stumps to climb, swings, zip wire, hop along stepping stones and covered bush trails.

Mini Golf Pitch & Putt (Wandsworth Park):

We will be aiming to putt the ball into the holes, while introducing the children to the ‘Par’ scoring system.

Clip & Climb (Fulham): Another opportunity for your child to scale the climbing walls.

This is one of the most popular requests from the children who have previously attended the holiday club. If it is your first time, we hope that you have a memorable experience too!

We will have fun in the outdoor play area, sandpit and sprinkle fountains.

Visiting Goals in Cheam:

Trying out our football skills. We will take turns to score goals and then be the goal keeper. Learning and putting into the practice the different skills needed for each position on the pitch.

Holiday Club: Royal London & Windsor

The Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace: We will explore the historic royal carriages and cars, some of which are still used for special occasions, and meet the horses that help to pull them.

We will then have lunch in St James Park Fee: £6:40

Visiting Lady Diana’s Memorial Playground: Your child will have the opportunity to open up their imaginations as they have fun in this unique children’s playground. We will:

Explore the musical structures

Climb using the ropes

Look for treasure in the sandpit

Activity Day: We are going to design our own royal stamps for the Queen, using a range of media and resources.

Windsor Castle:

We are going to look at the building where the Queen spends her private weekend and also observe the ‘Changing of the guards’.

Kew Royal Botanical Gardens: We will be on a quest to follow and search for the ‘Here Be Dragon Trail’. The aim is to hunt for dragon sculptures that are placed all around the garden.

If our little legs get tired, we will hop onto the Land Train which goes all around the garden.

Holiday Club: Influenced by Colour, Sound & Movement

Horniman Museum: The Rainbow Revealed is an award winning exhibition exploring the endless ways in which colour shapes our world.

We will discover how colours are made and perceived, how animals use colour to attract and hide, along with looking at how different colours mean different things for people across the planet

V&A Museum:

To uncover hidden views and go on a visual treasure hunt with The Undiscovered Museum Paper Trail. We will also look at the Europe 1600-1815 galleries and enjoy the museum gardens.

Museum of Water and Steam: We will be listening to sounds of the past industrial steam age and explore fun, interactive pumping stations, both inside the museum and in the 3 outdoor gardens.

The children will have the opportunity to become engineers and solve problems.

Activity Day: We will listen to different types of music and see how they have changed in popularity and developed over the centuries, creating our own music genre timeline.

We will then provide a variety of art activities and encourage the children to express how the music makes them feel while listening to classical, pop, disco, and relaxation music.

We are going to have 2 exciting visitors today, Maria and Margarita who both have a Masters in ‘Dance Movement physiotherapy’. We will have 2 one hour dance and movement classes (morning & afternoon).

Holiday Club: Final Fun Week

Flip Out: As you know, this has been a huge success in the past. We will have lots of fun jumping around on the trampolines and having fun in the foam pit.

All Star Lanes:

Bowling fun at All Star Lanes We are going to see how many ‘Strikes’ we can get in total throughout the games. Encouraging the children to aim not only for their own highest score, but to increase the total pins knocked down in the entire game.

Basket Ball: We are going to go to Bishops Part to practice shooting the ball through the hoop and even learning how professional players dribble the ball and ‘slam dunk’.

Holland Park: We are going to have fun in the zip wire playground. We will also walk around some of the park to see all of the Summer flowers.

Wandsworth Park: We will play group outdoor games, where the children will have to work individually and as part of a team. Some games will include:
