The Quebec A^bustos Corporation ia a wholly ownc-u subsidiary of the Philip Carey Company of Philadelphia, U.S.A. Howard Banting is geologist for the company, in ohar&e of fic-lc t-xploration in Canada.
Plans to examine all the aabeatoo discoveries nentioned in the literature were laid du: ir.,: 1946 according to Mr. wanting, and in the spring of 1949* a start was made in tho Matheson area, whero Canadian Johns-fUnvilie ..are already actively engaged in develop ing their Munro TownsMp property.
Normal prospecting v/as carried on throu^iout the urea until the Canadian Johnu-Manville company publicly announced their intention to mine aabesroa in Munro Township. It was then to etokt- aa itucl. favo irable ground as possible in orciur that leisurely proRpecting could be carried out later.
A lar^c block of claims has been st^kod in lots 3 - 6, concessions IV end V, .iunro To'rtashif , and staking was ac ill in progress on June 27*
Fibre ia known to e^i^t in this area, on the Potter-Dole showing, NWi, JJi, Lot 6, -on. IV, unU in the Nil, Lot 6, Oon V. However, no development work has been dom; recently on these showings, and ne thin - ntw *iac been located up to thu present time.

' ' ' MANGAN-DYER MUNRO TWP. CLAIMS)
"NORINE GROUP"
The property is a copper-asbestos prospect of ten contiguHi claims, approximately 400 acres, in Munro township, Larder Lake Mining Division numbered as follows: L-44232, 44233, 52512, 52513, 52514, 58?6l, 58762, 58868, 58869, 58870. Claims 44232-3 are held on lease under the recent amendment to the Mining Act relating to Patents and all assessment work up to patent has been completed and filed on the remaining claims. This property adjoins the Center Hill Mines property on the North where another good hole was pulled assaying 3.57^ copper and 5.96^ zinc over 32.9 feet. The property is accessible by auto travel 16 miles east of the town of Matheson on highway 101 thence north for 6 miles on good bush and mining access roads.
Stripping, trenching, plugger drilling and blasting is being carried out along that part of the rhyolite band which traverses claims 52514 and 58868. Most of the locations opened up had little or no gossan showing yet when drilled and blasted showed heavily disseminated to massive mineralization. Mineralization across widths of up to 100 feet was observed. The mineralization consists of pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, bornite, sphalerite and iron occuring in rhyolite breccia, silicified rhyolite and also in a basic rock.Earlier test pits east of where the present work is being carried out disclosed the same type of mineralization. Assays up to 10.10^ copper have been obtained from one of the dumps.Assessment diamond drilling of 1102 feet in 7 holes was carried out in prior years on claims 52512 and 44232. The same type of mineralization was encountered in the holes one of which tested 230 feet vertical.
Copper mineralization has now been observed at seven or more points along about 3/4 of a mile.No recent assaying has been done.

October 20th, 1956.

Dear Pati BEt Munroe Twp. Claias
Z bad an interesting visit with Mr. Dyer*
The only saaples that did any good was one from the east pit where the pyrrhotite is quite strong. A saaple of this ran 1.98JC Copper and 7.51* 2n. The others gave copper content so low that they •ean nothing.
Much as I would like to do some work on this shoving I do not feel that Z can reeomend it at this time.
lours very truly,
