Winner of countless horology awards, their wristwatches are among the best in the world, on par with the major players of the Swiss watch making profession including its chief rival Omega.
I am pleased to offer for sale the following vintage Longines timepiece, a men’s top-of-the-line Grand Prize example that dates to ca 1964 and is in excellent original condition. This is a patented All-Proof model, meaning the entire case is one solid piece. To access the mechanism you go in via the dial, first removing the crystal and then the male/female stem and crown.
Quadruple -signed for Longines, it measures 39mm lug tip to lug tip and 34mm in width (36mm with Longines-signed winding crown). This works out to be just over 1-1/2 inches long by just under 1-3/8 inches wide, not including the crown. It is powered by its original 17 jewel, Longines automatic wind (850 caliber) mechanism that has been fully serviced by my skilled watchmaker David prior to auction to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The 100% original silver, enamel finished dial is in flawless condition, guaranteed untouched since it left the factory half a century ago. It features applied yellow gold hour markers, original gold metal, Baton-style hand and a separate cross hair design seconds dial with ‘sweep’ gold sub-seconds hand. Signed LONGINES GRAND PRIZE below the 12 with Longines trademark (winged hourglass) and Automatic above the seconds dial. It is further signed SWISS at the base of the dial.
The hardened acrylic crystal is in excellent, clear condition. The one-piece case is 10 Yellow Gold Filled and in excellent PLUS condition, even nicer than my photos and with distinct tapered lugs. The original matching gold finished winding crown is stamped with the winged hour glass Longines logo and in excellent shape, winding and setting smoothly.
Turning the watch over, I see that the back of the case is in excellent condition, stamped USE ALLPROOF WRENCH, 1200 – 10K GOLD FILLED. This is a presentation piece and it is signed 1935 – 1964 L.F.R. - BPC in Appreciation. Being a one-piece case you access the mechanism by removing the crystal and then the dial/mechanism (I

The rotor automatic mechanism is signed LONGINES - Longines Watch Co., Swiss [Caliber] 850 - Seventeen 17 Jewels, LXW with serial number #12,358,930 - dating it to ca 1964 as per company production records and also the inscription on the back. The inside of the case is stamped New York, Geneva, Montreal – Longines Wittnauer Watch Co. Among watch collectors, the Omega Watch Co. of Switzerland, a firm founded by Louis Brandt of Biel in 1848, is one of the most renowned brands of timepieces. In 1894 a new caliber bore the name of Omega for the first time, and since then it has produced some of the finest caliber wristwatches money can buy. Omega is my favorite Swiss watch firm as well, combining those qualities of name brand recognition, high quality and (comparative) value that are important to the seasoned watch collector.
I am pleased to offer for sale this excellent condition vintage ladies Omega timepiece, crafted of 18kt Solid Yellow Gold and dating to ca 1955. This entirely Swiss made cocktail (dress) watch appears as though it was tucked away somewhere safe for 50 odd years and is in superb condition inside and out.
It is triple-signed for Omega and measures 27.5mm end to end and 15mm in width (16.5mm with original, unmarked crown). This equates to 1-1/8 inches long by 5/8 of an inch wide and it is fitted on a black cord bracelet that makes the overall length 6-3/4 inches. If you need it to be longer or shorter that is no problem, just let me know the length you need and I will custom size it before mailing. My watchmaker Dave has fully serviced its 17 jewel, manual wind caliber 244 Omega mechanism and it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The light blue, enamel finished dial is in excellent condition, the original dial that has been professionally restored in the recent past. It features applied 18kt solid gold hour markers and original gold metal Dauphine-style faceted hands. Signed OMEGA below the 12 marker (with applied gold Omega logo) and SWISS at the base of the dial.
The curved crystal is in excellent, clear condition. The two-piece case is 18 Karat Solid Yellow Gold and in excellent PLUS shape, a mid-century, Retro Modern cocktail design. The original yellow gold winding crown is also excellent, unmarked but correct for this model and the same design as used by

IWC for its gold watches during this period.
Turning the watch over I note that the back lid is in excellent PLUS condition with no wear or engravings. Inside I find a clean Seventeen Jewel movement that is signed OMEGA WATCH CO., SWISS, SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS, [CALIBER] 244, OXG. The serial number is #14,573,174, dating this watch to ca 1955 as per company production records. The inside of the back lid is finely engine turned and signed 18K, 0.750 - OMEGA WATCH CO., FAB. SUISSE, SWISS MADE with model number 3955 and case number below.
This fully serviced watch has been extremely well cared for and it shows, winding and setting smoothly while keeping accurate time. It is fitted on a vintage black cord bracelet strap with gold finished fittings and clasp. This watch is currently sized to fit a wrist up to 6-3/4 inches but if you want me to shorten or lengthen that is not a problem. So, have I interested anyone in this high-grade, midcentury Omega? I rarely find 18kt solid gold models and this one is a beauty.

Since 1998, Holben's Fine Watches' goal has been happy customers. YEARS on eBay. Keep on ticking!

The allure of the famous kaleidoscope dial “Cocktail” watch, sometimes imitated but never duplicated. The following 14kt yellow gold electroplated ladies example dates to the mid 1960s and was made by none other than the Ernest Borel Watch Company, a respected firm founded in 1859 and located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The Borel kaleidoscope dial watch is prominently featured in Faber and Unger’s American Wristwatches: Five Decades of Style and Design where, on page 245, it states that this watch was first introduced in the late 1940s. About no other watch can I say to see it in action is to appreciate it for its two revolving gold and black center dials are in constant motion, creating the effect of a flower blossom opening and closing, mesmerizing. This is the first time I have ever had this particular model before, its case design is classic Borel Cocktail but the dial is different, the hour marker, gold ring being pushed toward the center, leaving a black enamel outer area.
This quadruple-signed timepiece measures 33mm lug tip to lug tip and 25mm in width (26.5mm with original EB-signed crown). This works out to be just over 1-1/4 inches long by 1 inch wide, not counting the winding crown. It has been fully serviced and its original 17 jewel, Borel 26 caliber mechanism winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The dial is all original and in excellent condition, featuring a gold 60 minute and inlaid black enamel marker 12 hour dial, RED metal hour and minute hands that rotate around the outer edge and the famous Kaleidoscope center! Signed BOREL below the 12 and Mod. Depose COCKTAIL Swiss Pat. at the base.
The acrylic crystal is in excellent condition. The case, in excellent shape, is 14 Karat Yellow Gold Electroplated (to 20 microns) and is signed Ernest Borel, Swiss on the

left case side. I particularly like the curved T Lugs of this model. The original winding crown is signed EB for Ernest Borel and is in excellent shape, winding and setting smoothly.
Turning the watch over I see that this watch has a display back so you can view the movement ticking away. The original crystal covering the mechanism is in excellent condition, as is the 14kt gold electroplated bezel. The movement is signed Borel 26, Seventeen 17 Jewels, Swiss.
This original Cocktail watch has been completely disassembled, cleaned, oiled and regulated to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time. It does ‘click’ a couple times when fully winding it up but all is good and the watch performs correctly and accurately. It comes complete with a new 12mm smooth, matte black calf leather strap (unmarked but purchased from Hadley Roma) with gold finished buckle. All in all a collectible and FUN to wear watch that will get noticed on your wrist. Thanks for taking a peek!

Since 1998, Holben's Fine Watches' goal has been happy customers. In 1894 a new caliber bore the name of Omega for the first time, and since then it has produced some of the finest caliber wristwatches money can buy. Omega is my favorite Swiss watch firm as well, combining those qualities of name brand recognition, high quality and relative value that are important to the seasoned watch collector.
Omega strongly reaffirmed its position as a collector’s brand in 2007 when Antiquorum held its Omegamania theme sale in Geneva, Switzerland. The prices realized vastly exceeded pre-auction estimates and set new records for many older models. Yes folks, good vintage Omega watches are only going UP in value.
I am pleased to offer for sale the following men's Omega timepiece, an automatic wind SEAMASTER De Ville model that was manufactured ca 1965. This watch is in pristine ALL ORIGINAL condition, signed 5X for Omega including the winding crown, case, dial, mechanism and even the CRYSTAL.
Its solid stainless steel case measures 37.5mm lug tip to lug tip and 32.5mm in width (34.5mm with Omega-signed winding crown). This works out to be 1-3/4 inches long by just over 1-1/4 inches wide, not counting the original Omega-signed crown. It is powered by a high quality Omega 710 Caliber, 17 jewel self-winding ROTOR automatic mechanism, fully serviced by my watchmaker David just last week to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The 100% original, finely brushed, silver enamel finished dial is in excellent

condition, guaranteed untouched since it left the factory on this watch. Features include applied silver hour markers, original silver metal Baton style hands and ‘sweep’ original center seconds hand. Signed OMEGA AUTOMATIC with trademark Omega symbol below the 12 and Seamaster De Ville above the 6. It is further signed SWISS MADE at the base of the dial.
The original hardened acrylic armored crystal is in excellent, clear condition with no flaws. This crystal has a tiny Omega Symbol in the center, visible with a magnifying loupe but not with the naked eye. The two-piece case is solid stainless steel and in excellent to mint condition, spotless and like new. The original Omega-signed steel finished winding crown is spotless as well, winding and setting smoothly.
Turning the watch over I find that the back of the case is in excellent order with no wear or scratches, like new. It features a crisp center disk with the Seamaster seahorse logo and is stamped SEAMASTER WATERPROOF, as shown. Looking at this seahorse disk confirms that this watch was rarely, if ever worn and it is like new.
Taking a peek inside I find a clean, rose gold finished rotor automatic mechanism that is signed Omega Watch Co., Swiss [Caliber] 710, Seventeen 17 Jewels, OXG. The serial number is #23,155,607, dating the watch to ca 1965 as per available Omega production records. The inside of the case is signed OMEGA WATCH CO., FAB. It comes fitted on new and high quality 18mm black deBeer Paris glove leatherband with matching steel buckle. Whether it be a Seamaster, DeVille or Constellation all watch lovers need to have at least one Omega in their collection. How about this excellent and all original example? I have not had a nicer, like new Omega in a very long time.

Since 1998, Holben's Fine Watches' goal has been happy customers. Founded by Aaron Dennison and E. Howard, the highly regarded Waltham Watch Company of Waltham, Mass. is one of the grandfathers of U.S. horology, in business from 1850 to 1959 making high quality pocket watches, clocks and wristwatches known the world over. The company adopted the American Waltham name in 1859, having already used such names as Warren, Tracy, Appleton and Boston.
I am pleased to offer for sale the following vintage men’s timepiece form the Waltham firm, a military, cushion form design that dates to the interwar years, 1926. This watch represents one of the first wristwatches without wire lugs (fixed lugs) made, still displaying a classic Cushion style with Onion crown but using spring bars like watches do

today.
Its three-piece, 14kt White Gold Filled case measures 38mm lug tip to lug tip and 31.5mm in width (35.5mm with Onion style winding crown). This works out to be 1-1/2 inches long by just shy of 1-1/4 inches wide, not including the original crown. It is powered by its original American Waltham mechanism that has been fully serviced by my skilled watchmaker David to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The antique white (ivory) color, enamel finished dial is in excellent condition, professionally restored but in a vintage radium look. No radium was used on the hands or dial, however, and it is perfectly safe. Features include a 60 minute outer track, black enamel Arabic numbers with faux Radium finish, original blue steel skeleton hands with radium (look) fill and a recessed subsidiary seconds dial with 60 second outer chapter and sweeping original blue steel seconds hand. Signed WALTHAM below the 12.
The solid glass crystal is in excellent, clear condition. The case is a three-piece 14 Karat White Gold Filled model made for Waltham by the Philadelphia Watch Case Company. It is in excellent shape, even nicer than my photos convey. The matching and original Onion (or pumpkin) style winding crown in excellent condition with a secure stem sleeve making setting and winding very smooth.
Turning the watch over, I note that the back lid is in excellent shape with no wear or engravings, past or present, perhaps a few very light scratches. Peeking inside I find a clean 3/0 size Seven 7 Jewel lever-escapement movement signed A.W.W. Co., Waltham, U.S.A. where the AWW Co. stands for the American Waltham Watch Company. The serial number is #25,284,064, dating the watch to 1926. The inner back lid is stamped 3/0 PHILADELPHIA WATCH CASE CO., 14K GOLD FILLED with case number below. The last four digits of this case number (9640 are also stamped on the body of the watch, just above the balance wheel on the edge of the bezel. This ensures an original timepiece.
This watch has been fully serviced by a certified, professional watchmaker to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time. It comes with a new 16mm matte black calf leather strap by Hirsch (a Marcco model) with matching color buckle. All in all a very early “Wrist” model from Waltham that also represents the military or sport watch style of the mid 1920s. I think the winner will find a watch more impressive in

Founded in 1892, the Hamilton Watch Company of Lancaster, PA would not officially start its watch production until March 1894, having first chosen the name Columbian Watch Co. but this name was already copyrighted by the Waterbury Co. The

name Hamilton was derived from Lancaster’s founding father, Mr. Andrew Hamilton, a Scottish-born attorney who was instrumental in the growth of Lancaster.
By 1908 Hamilton was producing a lady’s pendant watch and during the WWI period a small line of military style watches were available for men. Hamilton never looked back, arguably producing the highest quality American made watches from the 1920s through the 1960s.
I am pleased to offer for sale the following vintage Hamilton timepiece, a men's Automatic K-351 model from ca 1955. This flared lug, quadrant dial, self-winding watch is in excellent, original condition, my photos do not quite do it justice, especially the 10k Solid Yellow Gold body which is in spotless shape. This is the first time I have ever had a K-351 model before and I seldom see them for sale, a rarer model to be sure.
Triple-signed for Hamilton, its 10kt Solid Yellow Gold case (with stainless steel back) measures 41mm end to end and 34mm in width (36mm w/ crown). This works out to be 1-5/8 inches long by just shy of 1-3/8 inches wide, not counting the winding crown. It is powered by its original and high quality 17 jewel Hamilton Swiss automatic wind mechanism, fully serviced by my talented watchmaker David just last week to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The 100% original two-tone silver, enamel finished dial is guaranteed untouched since it left the factory almost 60 years ago and is in great condition. Features include a 60 second outer inner track border, raised gold Arabic numerals and arrow-shaped hour markers, original gold metal Dauphine-style hands with luminous fill and a sweep original gold center seconds hand. Signed HAMILTON in raised gold letters below the 12 and AUTOMATIC in raised letters above the 6. It is further signed SWISS at the base of the dial.
The hardened acrylic crystal is in excellent, clear condition. The two-piece case is comprised of a 10 Karat Solid Yellow Gold body (bezel, sides, lugs) with a stainless steel back lid. It is in excellent PLUS condition, nicer than my photos show. The domed gold finished winding crown is not marked but appears that it could be original, it is certainly the right design and age/vintage. It is in excellent shape, winding and setting smoothly.
Turning the watch over I note that the back lid is stainless steel with a separate screw-down ring to hold it in place. It is signed HAMILTON, 10K GOLD BEZEL, STAINLESS BACK, ANTIMAGNETIC, SHOCK

The inside case lid is stamped HAMILTON W. CO., LANCASTER, PA., K-351 with case number below. The case maker was JONELL, as indicated by the letter ‘J’ with arrow going through it.
This Hammy automatic has been completely disassembled, cleaned, oiled and regulated to ensure watch winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time. Comes complete with a new 18mm black deBeer Europa hand finished lizard grain strap with gold finished buckle for a great look. All in all a very fine watch for those who like scarcer mid-century watches in excellent original shape – oh, and solid 10kt Gold too!

Since 1998, Holben's Fine Watches' goal has been happy customers. Founded by Ariste Calame in the City of Le Locle in 1882, the Zodiac Watch Co. of Switzerland has long been a sought-after watch amongst collectors, especially those who appreciate vintage sport and diving watches. The Zodiac name was used very early on but was not registered until 1908.
The firm exhibited at the Basle Watch Show in 1949 with the Datagraphic, a calendar watch with moon phases and the Autographic, a self-winding model with visible power reserve indicator that was the official watch of the Swiss Federal Railways. By the late 1950s the Sea Wolf divers watch and Rotographic rotor automatic models would be introduced.
I am pleased to offer for sale the following men’s watch from the firm, a store display SUPER SEADRAGON divers World Time model in excellent, all original (pre-owned) shape. This watch comes complete with its original Zodiac-signed rubber sport strap with matching brushed steel Zodiac-signed buckle. Before I say anything else I want to emphasize that this is a BIG watch, bigger than any watch I have sold before and weighing in at 4.8 ounces, that is a quarter pounder PLUS!
I cannot think of another all Swiss made dive watch that gives you more bang for your buck; the fit and finish is excellent, the smallest dial details very crisp. Being rated to 100 meters (330 feet) also means you can get this one wet, in the ocean, in the pool, you name it.
Quadruple-signed for Zodiac, its solid stainless steel case measures 50mm lug tip to lug tip, 14mm thick and 50mm in width (52.5mm with Zodiac-signed crown). This works out to be 2 inches by 2 inches, a very big watch! It is powered by its original Zodiac precision Swiss quartz mechanism that keeps very accurate time.
The black enamel finished dial is in mint condition, featuring a 60 second outer chapter, luminous silver steel hour markers, a quick change date window at the 3 position, original white lacquer finish luminous hands and RED lacquer finish center seconds hand. Signed ZODIAC 1882 below the red & white company symbol and DUAL TIME above the 6 marker. This dual time window shows the military time so if it is 10pm at night it will show as 20:00 hours. It is further signed SWISS MADE in red lettering at the base of the dial.
The

hardened mineral glass crystal is in mint condition. The unidirectional timing bezel ratchets over nice and snugly. The secondary, bi-directional World Time bezel is excellent as well, showing cities from Tokyo and Hong Kong to London and Auckland. The two-piece case is a solid stainless steel of solid, heavy weight, brushed (satin) finish along the bezel corners and polished on the sides. Just a couple light scratches from handling. The setting crown (used for date as well) features the Zodiac emblem and is excellent like the rest of the watch.
Turning the watch over you will see that the stainless, screw-down back lid is finely executed with an engraved Sea Dragon design in the center, very topnotch and quite impressive. I can only imagine that Zodiac was inspired by the Omega Seamaster when coming up with this model name. The lid is signed ZODIAC SUPER SEADRAGON, ZO 3701, 100 METERS 330 FEET, SWISS MADE, 00155. As this watch has not been opened up I am not going to do so as this may compromise its waterproof qualities. Be assured, however, that there is a precision Swiss quartz mechanism inside that keeps spot-on, accurate time.
This timepiece comes with its original 24mm black rubber tropic band signed with the Zodiac logo on the underside and on the matching stainless steel buckle. It does NOT come with any box or papers, just the watch as you see it. A finely executed, heavy duty watch that is perfect for work, travel, the ocean, where you want your wrist to look good but do not want to spend a lot (for Swiss quality) in the process.

Since 1998, Holben's Fine Watches' goal has been happy customers. I have always enjoyed collecting watches from Bulova, an American company of great repute. It was founded in the 1870s by the Czech immigrant Joseph Bulova and based in New York City, where the famous Bulova Observatory was located, high above a skyscraper on Fifth Avenue. Like Gruen, it also had a factory in (Bienne) Switzerland, established in 1912 and dedicated to the production of watch components and their assembly into jeweled movements. The firm is known for its aggressive advertising campaigns and for being the first to advertise on radio – with an announcer stating “B U L O V A … 8:00p.m., Bulova Watch Time.”
I am pleased to offer for sale the following men’s timepiece from the Bulova firm, a SEA KING model that dates to 1970. This watch is in excellent , all original condition and I would not be surprised if it was worn for only a year or so before putting away.
The Sea King line of watches were promoted by Bulova as water-tight, sport watches in the late 1960s and early 1970s, easily identified by a Whale on the dial, much like a popular symbol for Nantucket Island.
Triple-signed for Bulova, its polished stainless steel concave bezel case measures 39mm end to end and 33mm in width (34.8mm with original crown). This works out to be 1-1/2 inches long by just over 1-1/4 inches

wide, not including the original and correctly unmarked winding crown. It is powered by its original 17 jewel, manual wind Bulova Swiss mechanism that has been fully serviced by my Bulova-trained watchmaker David to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The 100% original sky BLUE enamel finished dial is in mint condition, a cross hair design untouched since it left the factory and without flaw. Features include a 60 second outer track calibrated to 1/5 of a second, tritium dots next to each marker, raised white enamel finished hour markers, original silver steel hands with tritium inserts and original sweep silver center seconds hand. Signed BULOVA below the 12 and with the WHALE motif above the 6. It is further signed T Swiss T at the base of the dial (the T stands for tritium).
The 100% original acrylic crystal is in excellent condition. The two-piece case (with separate screw-down ring) is solid stainless steel and in excellent shape as well, complete with a brushed steel bezel and polished sides. Note the concave bezel, very retro modern in style. The winding crown is correctly unmarked for this era and model and in excellent condition, winding and setting smoothly.
Turning the watch over I see that the back lid features a separate, screw-down ring and is stainless steel. It is stamped BULOVA, N0, STAINLESS STEEL CASE, BT000975. The “NO” is Bulova’s date code for 1970. Inside I find a clean Seventeen Jewel, manual wind movement signed Bulova Watch Co., [Grade] 11BLC, 17 Seventeen Jewels, Swiss, N0.
This blue dial Sea King has been disassembled, cleaned, oiled and regulated to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time. It is fitted on a newish 18mm matching blue calf leather strap with stainless steel buckle so you are all set. All in all an excellent, original Retro Modern era timepiece that is ready to be worn and enjoyed, thanks for taking the time to drop by!

Since 1998, Holben's Fine Watches' goal has been happy customers.
One of the best-known watch firms in the world today, the Movado Watch Co. of Switzerland took its name from the Esperanto word that translates as “Always in Motion.” Founded by Achille Ditesheim in 1881, he soon set up the first factory in La Chaux-de-Fonds, and the “Movado” name first appeared in 1906.
One of the first watch companies to produce a wristwatch for men, its most famous early design was the Polyplan, followed by military timepieces and triple date watches.
I am pleased to offer for sale the following vintage men’s timepiece from the Movado factory, a SUB SEA model that dates to ca 1964 and is in excellent, original condition. This is the first time I have ever had a non automatic (called Tempo-Matic by Movado) Sub-Sea model before, and it features a 135 caliber, manual wind mechanism. I love the understated elegance of this watch, much like an IWC or Omega of the

same period.
Triple-signed, its solid stainless steel case measures 40.5mm lug tip to lug tip and 34.5mm in width (36.7mm with domed steel crown). This is a nice size for the period and it works out to be 1-5/8 inches long by 1-3/8 inches wide, not including the crown. It is powered by its original and higher-grade 17 jewel, manual wind 17 jewel Movado mechanism that has been fully serviced by my trusted watchmaker David to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The 100% original silver, matte enamel finish dial is in pristine condition, guaranteed to be untouched since it left the factory almost 50 years ago. It features applied silver hour markers with tritium dots, original silver steel Dauphine-style hands with darkened tritium fill and a crosshair design sub-seconds dial with sweep original silver steel hand Signed MOVADO below the 12 (with M trademark) and SWITZERLAND Tat the base of the dial.
The original hardened acrylic armored ring crystal is in excellent, clear condition. The Movado-signed case is Solid Stainless Steel and in excellent condition as well, a two-piece example with screw down back lid. The stainless steel winding crown, possibly original but not marked, winds and sets smoothly.
Turning the watch over I see that screw-down stainless back lid is in excellent order, stamped SUB - SEA at the edge. This was a presentation watch to a Thiomas A. Trulove for 37 years of service and it is dated ’27 to ’64. Taking a look inside I find a clean, all original mechanism signed Movado Factories, Swiss, 17 Jewels Seventeen, 2 Two Adjustmets, MXI with caliber number 135 stamped below the balance wheel. The inside case back is signed with the M company logo and MOVADO FACTORIES, SWITZERLAND, 17223 STAINLESS STEEL, FAB. It is fitted on a new 18mm black deBeer Paris hand crafted lizard (grain) calf leather strap with steel buckle, ready to be worn and enjoyed. Omega is my favorite Swiss watch firm as well, combining those qualities of name brand recognition, high quality and (comparative) value

that are important to the seasoned watch collector.
I am pleased to offer for sale the following vintage ladies timepiece from the Omega firm, a self-winding De Ville model (Ref. 561 – 037) from 1970 in excellent, all original condition, only the band is new. This watch is entirely Swiss made and features a high grade 24 Jewel, 2 Adjustment Omega self-winding mechanism made in-house. It is also quintuple (5x) signed, on the dial, winding crown, case, mechanism and even a tiny Omega symbol in the center of the crystal!
Its solid stainless steel case measures 23mm end to end and 18mm in width (19.5mm with original Omega signed crown). This equates to just under 1 inch in length, including the lugs and inches in length by 11/16 of an inch wide, not counting the Omega crown. It is fitted on a new old stock 8mm black Kreisler crocodile grain leather strap that will comfortably fit a wrist 5 inches to 6-1/2 inches in length. I can also find a longer band (i.e., stainless) for those with larger wrists. It has been fully serviced prior to auction and its original rotor automatic 661 caliber Omega mechanism winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The 100% original silver grey, enamel finished dial is in mint condition, guaranteed untouched since it left the factory. It features applied silver and black lacquer finished hour markers and original silver and black lacquer accented hands. Signed OMEGA AUTOMATIC below the 12 marker with applied silver Omega logo. It is further signed DE VILLE above the 6 marker and - SWISS MADE - at the base of the dial.
The original hardened acrylic crystal is in excellent condition, complete with a tiny OMEGA SYMBOL in the center, not visible to the naked eye but visible with a magnifying loupe. The two-piece case is Solid Stainless Steel and in great to excellent condition, just a few small scratches. The original steel Omega-signed winding/setting crown is also excellent, operating as it should. With a vintage automatic watch of this age you should always wind the crown about 5 or 6 turns before putting it on your wrist. Then your wrist motion will take over.
Turning the watch over I note that the stainless steel, snap-down back lid is in excellent PLUS condition with no wear or engravings. Inside I find a clean 17 Jewel, rotor automatic rose gold colored movement that is signed Omega Watch Co., Swiss, Twenty Four 24 Jewels, Adjusted to Two (2) Positions, [Caliber] 661. The serial number is #31,055,358, dating this watch to ca 1970 as per company

production records. The inside of the back lid is stamped OMEGA WATCH CO. FAB. It is fitted on a new (old stock), Kreisler 8mm black crocodile (grain) calf leather band with matching chrome steel buckle. So then, have I interested anyone in this understated and elegant Omega De Ville watch? You rarely come across 24 jewel ladies models and this one is about as original as they come.

I am pleased to offer for sale the following men’s watch from the firm, a pre-owned (store display) SEADRAGON divers model in excellent, all original shape. This watch comes complete with its Zodiac-signed Tropic style rubber strap with matching brushed steel Zodiac-signed buckle.
I cannot think of another all Swiss made dive watch that gives you more bang for your buck, the fit and finish is excellent, the smallest dial details very crisp, just like a comparable Tag Heuer. Being rated to 100 meters (330 feet) also means you can get this one wet, in the ocean, in the pool, you name it.
Quadruple-signed for Zodiac, its solid stainless steel case measures 43mm lug tip to lug tip, 14.5mm thick and 39mm in width (43mm with Zodiac-signed crown). This is a good size, large enough to have presence on your wrist but not too large where it feels like the watch is wearing you! I have a smaller size men’s wrist and find this size is perfect, any larger would be too much.. It is powered by its original Zodiac precision Swiss quartz mechanism that keeps very accurate time.
The white enamel finished dial is in excellent condition, featuring a blue 60 second outer chapter (calibrated to 1/5 of a second), luminous blue hour markers, a quick change date window at the 6 position, original blue steel luminous hands and blue steel center seconds hand. Signed ZODIAC 1882 below the company symbol and 100 METERS – 330 FEET above the date window. It is further signed SWISS MADE at the base of the dial.
The hardened mineral crystal is in excellent, clear shape. The unidirectional timing bezel ratchets over nice and snugly. The two-piece case is a solid stainless steel of good weight, brushed (satin) finish along the bezel corners and polished on the sides. It is in excellent condition with just a couple tiny marks from trying on, etc. The setting crown (used for date

Page 34: holben/Descriptions/July 1, 2013.docx · Web view Founded by Ernest Francillon and Auguste Agassiz in the year 1832, the Longines

as well) features the Zodiac emblem and is excellent like the rest of the watch.
Turning the watch over you will see that the stainless, screw-down back lid is finely executed with an engraved Sea Dragon in the center, very topnotch and quite impressive. I can only imagine that Zodiac was inspired by the Omega Seamaster when coming up with this model name. The lid is signed < b>ZODIAC SEADRAGON, 100 METERS 330 FEET, SWISS MADE, ZO2244 with serial number 03515. Inside is a precision Swiss quartz mechanism inside that keeps spot-on, accurate time.
This timepiece comes with its original 20mm black rubber Tropic style GT Rally Sport strap signed Zodiac on the underside and also on the brushed steel buckle. It does NOT come with any box or papers, just the watch as you see it. A finely executed, heavy duty watch that is perfect for work, travel, the ocean - where you want a high quality Swiss watch but do not want to spend a week’s (or month’s) salary in the process.

Since 1998, Holben's Fine Watches' goal has been happy customers.

My very old dog, Cautious Carl, and I want thank everyone for 15 GREAT

YEARS on eBay. Keep on ticking!

In my travels over hill and dale, along country roads and in and out of abandoned farm houses I am always on the lookout for vintage timepieces that are a bit different from the rest, where they be by a boutique Swiss watch firm or a private label model from a well known jeweler.
Here is one such example, a vintage men’s military or sport style model from the (once) esteemed outfitting company of Abercrombie & Fitch Co., New York. A&F sold just about anything you could need for an expedition to Africa or a trip down the Amazon river, Ernest Hemingway being one of its best known customers in the 1930s through the 1950s.
My experience with Abercrombie & Fitch watches (I have owned perhaps five or six) is that they primarily commissioned Movado to make its watches, but this watch appears to have been possibly made by another Swiss maker, I am not completely sure. What I do know, however, is that it is triple-signed for A&F on the dial, case and mechanism and that the case is a Francois Borgel patented design that was also used for Movado watches during the 1940s.
This stainless steel timepiece measures 35mm end to end and 29.5mm in width (31.5mm with crown). This works out to be 1-3/8 inches long by 1-3/16 inches wide, not including the winding crown, a typical size for a WW2 timepiece but considered a BOY’S size or ¾ Gents size by today’s standards. This is ideal for the man who prefers a smaller watch or for a woman who wants a vintage timepiece with more presence on the wrist. My watchmaker David has fully serviced its original 15 jewel, manual wind mechanism to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping accurate time.
The silver, enamel finish dial is in great condition, the original dial that has been professionally restored in the past. It features a 60 minute outer track border, Arabic numbers, original skeleton hands with luminous fill (the hands glow) and a separate seconds dial

Page 37: holben/Descriptions/July 1, 2013.docx · Web view Founded by Ernest Francillon and Auguste Agassiz in the year 1832, the Longines

with 60 second outer chapter and sweep seconds hand. Signed ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO. below the 12 in curvilinear script.
The domed acrylic crystal is a new addition in mint condition. The case is solid stainless steel and in excellent condition, a two-piece design with separate movement dust cover. It is stamped with the number 1459 below the bottom lugs, the last four digits found on the inner case back. The steel winding crown is also in excellent shape (possibly original), operating smoothly.
Turning the watch over I see that the back lid is in great shape, a few small scratches but very clean, made of stainless steel and screw down in design. In the center it is signed R. Carrere. Peeking inside I find a desirable dust cover lid that protects the movement, a nice feature of higher quality military watches. Peeking inside I discover a clean, manual wind movement signed Abercrombie & Fitch Co., New York, 15 Fifteen Jewels, Made in Switzerland, AXF. The inside case lid is nicely engine turned and signed STAINLESS STEEL, BRITISH PAT. 385509 +BREVET, ABERCROMBIE & FITCH CO., NEW YORK, 461459, MADE IN SWITZERLAND.
This watch has been disassembled, cleaned, oiled and regulated to ensure it winds and sets effortlessly while keeping accurate time. It is fitted on a new 16mm black deBeer lizard grain calf leather strap with matching steel buckle.
