Tip of the day: Ways to Remember Vocabulary

Use your vocabulary sheet to label verbs on your new verb picture sheet.

Then look at the following pictures and see how many you can name by heart.

GUSTAR = to be pleasing to (like)I like = me gusta We like = nos gusta

You like = te gusta Y’all like = os gusta

He/she/ You (form.) like = le gusta

They/ You (form.pl.) like = les gusta

To say you like to do something use the formula:

pronoun + gusta + infinitive (verb)Ej. Me + gusta + comer.

To make a negative sentence, put NO in front of pronounEj. No me gusta estudiar.

An infinitive verb is the UNCHANGED form of a verb. All infinitive verbs end in

–AR, -ER, -IR! Ej. : comer, escuchar, estar, leer

Write sentences with the following verbs and subjects on the next slide.

Example:

(ellos)

Les gusta tocar la guitarra.

4.(NOSOTROS)

Answer Key: 1. Me gusta comer.2. Le gusta estudiar

NOTE: You don’t put the subject pronoun in front!!!

To add emphasis: Means to REALLY LIKE. Put these in front of forms of GUSTAR

a mi a nosotros a ti a vosotrosa él a ellos

a ella a ellasa Usted a Ustedes

Ej. ¡A mi me gusta comer!= I REALLY LIKE to eat.

Now go back and add EMPHASIS to the sentences you just wrote. 1-6
