GET TO KNOW YOUR COMMUNITY
3. Establish a Hispanic Advisory Committee
Committee members should include • Business leaders • Religious leaders • Academic leaders • Local government officials
Invite the Committee Members to meet with you regularly and offer insights into the issues that matter to the Hispanic community.
INVITE THE COMMUNITY TO GET TO KNOW YOU
4. Conduct Mobile Office Hours
Hispanic communities may not have an institutional knowledge of the services a congressional office can provide.
Go into Hispanic neighborhoods and bring constituent services to them.
ENGAGE HISPANIC MEDIA
5. Commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month
with Op-Eds & Social Media.
Write an Op-Ed highlighting the contributions of Hispanic Americans or addressing issues of concern to Hispanics in your area.
By introducing yourself to Hispanic media, you’ll make relationships that may result in future appearances and interviews.
It isn’t necessary to speak Spanish in order to engage Hispanic media.
