About the Tour

Through a series of innovative entrepreneurship lectures, corporate and cultural visits and meeting with entrepreneurs in Israel, participants will gain significant insights into Israel’s latest innovation and startup businesses. The tour will include visits to renowned global enterprises and chambers for business opportunities between Hong Kong and Israel.

Lecture 1: Future Technologies and Their Business Application

We live at a time of explosive technological progress. Exciting new technologies are rapidly changing from Science Fiction into fact, and are transforming business, politics, and everyday life. This lecture surveys the origins, present and future of key new domains that are at the forefront of this wave of change: Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Internet of Things, Virtual Reality, and more – illuminating the coming brave new world we couldn’t even imagine a few years back. Lecture 2: Game Theory: Game Engineering

This lecture is given by the Nobel laureate in Economics, Prof. Yisrael Aumann. Prof. Aumann will review the core elements in his unique, Nobel award winning, study of Game Theory and Game Engineering, and will analyze various innovative methodologies in decision making in theory and in daily life.

Company Visit 1 Siftech Siftech, Jerusalem’s pioneer and largest accelerator, was founded in early 2012 as grassroots initiative of the Hebrew University Students Union, led by two extraordinary women, Stav Erez and Inbar Ziv. Siftech started out as a community catalyst, organising events and initiating projects aimed at driving entrepreneurial activity. Six months later, Siftech launched the first startup accelerator in the city. As the nerve centre of Jerusalem’s rapidly growing startup scene, Siftech grows and supports local entrepreneurial talent, providing the platforms, mentorship and business opportunities for ventures to succeed.

Atobe Accelerator The Azrieli College of Engineering Startups Accelerator

In aim to stimulate, encourage and spark the creativity of entrepreneurs, and encourage them to develop their own dream startup, AtoBe accelerator was established at Azrieli College of Engineering. The accelerator provides the eco-system for technological entrepreneurship, with extremely practical approach to engineering, which is at the very heart of Azrieli College. AtoBe accelerator provides guidance, knowledge, and support in bringing their idea from conception to a real thriving business. Additionally, the accelerator provides the physical space and resources to research, develop and get their product ready for the real world.

Lecture 3: The Three Gates of Judaism

The 3 Foundations of Judaism: Wisdom, Innovative Thinking and Education. The lecture deals with the development of the secret of Jewish thought. The three unique elements in Jewish tradition as they are hinted at in the Kabbalistic concept of "habad" (wisdom, understanding and knowledge): •Wisdom - the individual Jewish thought ("The world was created only for me") •Understanding the Jewish as an eternal argument - (on the essential principle of thinking the opposite) •Knowledge - about universal collective thought (Tikun Olam in the kingdom of God)

Lecture 4: The Israeli army (IDF) and Innovative thinking- “Get Boots on Ground!” – Translate Battlefield Experience into Your Business Culture

In this lecture we will discuss War from the eyes of a commander - Leadership, overcoming challenges, Jewish identity, ethical dilemmas. The lecture includes up to-date security and moral challenges facing the IDF, how each of these influences and promotes innovative thinking and development, how the special conditions of serving in the IDF brings opportunities for out of the box thinking, and concrete innovative solutions. Over the years the Israeli IDF has been faced with numerous challenges, wars and operations that required solutions that were not yet invented. Through these challenges, the soldiers serving in different units in the IDF gain much experience in different situations that influence them and give them various tools for future challenges in other fields in life. Israelis are known for their refusal to give up, and that is a big part of what drives the IDF's innovative creations. This lecture will share examples from personal experience of creative thinking, and how it was used also for saving lives.

Mobileye Mobileye is a NASDAQ listed company (biggest Israeli IPO), doing business worldwide, currently developing the autonomous car. Mobileye is a technological leader in the area of software algorithms, system-on-chips and customer applications that are based on processing visual information for the market of driver assistance systems (DAS). Mobileye’s technology keeps passengers safer on the roads, potential to revolutionise the driving experience by enabling autonomous driving. Mobileye was cofounded by Hebrew- University researcher Prof. Amnon Shashua, who now serves as its CTO, with the assistance of Yissum, the Tech-Transfer company of the Hebrew University.

The Proof-of-Concept (PoC) process, designed to highlight innovation and boost technology adoption between startups and enterprises, has long been recognized as being complex, tedious, and highly inefficient. prooV was created with a clear objective in mind - to simplify the complex way new technology is evaluated and adopted. With a market-network model, prooV puts the latest technologies and digital and social trends to use in an ecosystem specifically created for PoC success. Co-founders, Toby Olshanetsky (CEO) and Alexey Sapozhnikov (CTO), each have over 20 years of experience running PoCs, from both the enterprise and vendor side. They know first hand the pains that all parties involved in a PoC go through and have therefore made it their goal to redefine the PoC experience in its entirety.

Taglit Innovation Center The Center for Israeli Innovation is a cutting-edge interactive visitor center, powered by Taglit in partnership with the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. The center exposes its visitors to the booming Innovation ecosystem in Israel, also known as the ‘Startup Nation’, in a concise and interactive tour (45-75 minutes).

Company Visit 8 OrCam Technology OrCam is an Israeli-based company producing wearable artificial intelligence space. OrCam develops and manufactures assistive technology devices for individuals who are visually impaired, partially sighted, blind, print disabilities, or have other disabilities.
