6. HELPFUL HINTS AND TIPSINDUCTION COOKING ZONES

For induction cooking zones a strongelectro-magnetic field creates the heatin the cookware very quickly.

6.1 Cookware for inductioncooking zones

Use the induction cooking zoneswith correct cookware.

Cookware material• correct: cast iron, steel, enamelled

steel, stainless steel, the bottom madeof multi-layer (with correct mark from amanufacturer).

• not correct: aluminium, copper, brass, glass, ceramic, porcelain.

Cookware is correct for an inductionhob if …• ... some water boils very quickly on a

zone set to the highest heat setting.• ... a magnet pulls on to the bottom of

the cookware.

The bottom of the cookwaremust be as thick and flat as possi-ble.

Cookware dimensions: induction cook-ing zones adapt to the dimension of thebottom of the cookware automatically tosome limit.

6.2 Use of the cooking zonesIMPORTANT

Put the cookware on the cross which ison the surface that you cook. Cover thecross fully. The magnetic part of the bot-tom of the cookware must be 125 mmminimum. Induction cooking zonesadapt to the dimension of the bottom of

the cookware automatically. You cancook with the large cookware on twocooking zones at the same time.

6.3 The noises duringoperationIf you can hear• crack noise: cookware is made of dif-

ferent materials (Sandwich construc-tion).

• whistle sound: you use one or morecooking zones with high power levelsand the cookware is made of differentmaterials (Sandwich construction).

• humming: you use high power levels.• clicking: electric switching occurs.• hissing, buzzing: the fan operates. The noises are normal and do not re-fer to appliance malfunction.

6.4 Energy savingHow to save energy

• If it is possible, always put the lids onthe cookware.

• Put cookware on a cooking zone be-fore you start it.

• Use the residual heat to keep the foodwarm or to melt it.

The cooking zone efficiency

The cooking zone efficiency is related tothe diameter of the cookware. The cook-ware with a smaller diameter than theminimum receives only a part of thepower generated by the cooking zone. For the minimum diameters see theTechnical Information chapter.

ENGLISH 11

Page 12: HK673520FB ENUser manual · 2016. 11. 21. · 6 . Use the sensor fields to operate the appliance. The displays, indicators and sounds tell which functions operate. Sensor field Function

6.5 Öko Timer (Eco Timer)To save energy, the heater of thecooking zone deactivates beforethe count down timer sounds. The difference in the operationtime depends on the heat settinglevel and the length of the cook-ing operation.

6.6 The Examples of cookingapplicationsThe relation between the heat settingand the cooking zone consumption ofpower is not linear.

When you increase the heat setting it isnot proportional to the increase of thecooking zone consumption of power. It means that the cooking zone with themedium heat setting uses less than ahalf of its power.

The data in the table is for guid-ance only.
