This is normal, however, this VCR has a special feature that allows you to reposition or reduce thelines. Each time you press PAUSE button the lines will change position on the screen. This enables you to see the picture in its entirety without distracting noise lines.

If the tape was originally recorded in SP or LP mode, the still picture will, in addition tothe "noise" lines, be black and white.

Tracking adjustment will be set automatically (Digital Tracking function) when youstart playback. "DTR" appears on the display.

When playing pre-recorded tapes or tapes recorded on units other than your own, noise lines (black and white streaks) may appear on the playback picture. ))MAINTENANCE i

If you subscribe to cable TV, the channels are displayed as 1-125.

Cable companies often designate channels with letters or letter-number combinations. Please check with your local cable company. The following is a chart of common cablechannel designations.

See Cable Channels Diagram.

Wipe the front panel and other exterior surfaces of the VCR with a soft clothimmersed in lukewarm water and wrung dry.

Never use a solvent or alcohol. Do not spray insecticide liquid near the VCR. Suchchemicals may cause damage and discoloration to the exposed surfaces.

Picture playback may become blurred or interrupted while the TV program receptionis clear. This does not mean that the recorded program has been erased. Dirtaccumulated on the video heads after long periods of use, or the usage of rental orworn tapes can cause this problem. If a streaky or snowy picture appears duringplayback, the heads in your VCR may need to be cleaned. Please visit your localAudio/Video store and purchase a good quality VHS Video Head Cleaner. Rememberto read the instructions included with the head cleaner before use. Clean heads onlywhen problems occur. If this does not correct the problem, consult the nearest

Authorized Service Center. Professional video head cleaning requires highly technicalattention.

Should your VCR become inoperative, do not try to correct the problem by yourself. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Turn off, unplug the power cord, and take
