Use this chapter to familiarize yourself with the HIT 731 UHF Reader. This chapter covers these topics:

2. Getting Started

Installation • Battery Installation

a. Insulation film is inserted between battery and power contact pin

b. Insulation film is must be removed before using

c. Push up forelock on the middle of bottom side and take out battery,

then remove insulation film

d. Push down battery until battery is locked by forelock

• SIM Card Installation a. Take out battery

b. Insert SIM card to SIM1 slot

c. To use 2 SIM cards, insert each SIM card on SIM1 and SIM2

• SAM Card Installation a. Take out battery

b. Insert SIM card to CARD1 slot

c. In case of 2 SAM card using, insert SAM cards both CARD1 and

CARD2

Installation Usage Tips

• Do not damage electric wire and power adapter. If electric wire or

power adapter is damaged, please do not use the RFID reader any

more.

• Before power adapter is plugged into power socket, please make

sure that voltage which the power socket supplies is appropriate

working voltage for the RFID reader

• Do not expose the RFID reader in sunshine, humid, hot or dusty

environment

• Keep the RFID reader away from liquid material.

• Do not plug any unknown material into any port of the reader, since it

may create serious damage to the RFID reader.

• If the RFID reader is defective, please contact professional RFID

reader repair technicians

• When installing paper roll, please be aware of the cutter within paper

bracket.

• Please use standard thermal paper, in order to protect the printer and

avoid paper jam.

• Do not assemble the terminal in explosion hazardous area.

Instruction • Power ON/OFF

a. Power on: Press power switch button for 2 seconds until LED

backlight is on, and HanaPac logo is on the screen.

b. Power off: Press power switch button for 2 seconds until the

displaying content vanishes. RFID reader is being turned off.

• Magnetic Stripe Card a. When user swipes magnetic stripe card along the slot, the

backside of the card, which contains magnetic stripe information,

should be facing the terminal.

b. Bi-directional swiping is supported. It is recommended to swipe

with a constant moving speed.

• IC Card a. When user inserts IC card into the IC slot, the chip of IC card

should be facing up.

b. It is recommended to gently insert the card, in order to avoid any

physical damage to the card or the IC slot of the RFID reader.

c. If IC card is successfully read by the RFID reader, the IC card icon

will be shown on LCD display screen.

• Tearing off paper from the printer a. After the record paper is printed, pinch the end of the record paper

and keep an angle of 45 degrees between paper and the cutter of

the printer. And tear off the record paper swiftly.

Battery Usage Tips

• Charge indoor by safety area, where is cool and well ventilated.

• Do not apart the battery.

• Do not short circuit the battery.

• Keep the battery away from sunshine, smog and dust

• Do not squeeze, punch the battery and put it into liquid or near fire.

• Keep away from environment which is too hot, too cold, damp and

highly explosive.

• Once a failure happens such as heating or distortion, or it was broken

down, please changed new battery.

• Change new battery if it cannot satisfy your requirement.

• Change new battery if using more than two years.

CAUTION: This battery pack may ignite, create a chemical burn hazard, explode, or release toxic materials if mistreated. Do not incinerate, disassemble, or heat above 100°C (212°F). Do not short circuit; may cause burns. Keep away from children. Use of incorrect charger may present a risk of fi re or explosion.

CONTAINS LITHIUM-ION BATTERY. WASTE BATTERY MUST PROMPTLY BE RECYCLED OR DISPOSED OF PROPERLY.

Replacing Printer Roll Tips

1. Open up print cover.

2. Remove the used printer roll. 3. Insert a new printer roll in right

way (You will see how to put it in right way when you remove old roll)

4. Pass the paper through the paper outlet and close the print cover.

When the roll is set upside down, the data is not printed out correctly.

CAUTION • Do not touch the paper cutter of the printer cover. • Do not pull the printer paper forcefully. • The paper cutter may hurt fingers.

3. Using RFID Application

Basic navigation of menu

Press “^” and “ν” to navigate the menus

“CANCLE” button goes back to the previous menu

“CLEAR” clears the contents

“ENTER” executes the menu

UHF Tag main menu

a) Inventory management

It shows the total number of tags detected, and count number of reading for each tags and shows its EPC number

b) Read/Write

This will select a tag, read the tag, and write desired information on selected tag. Now simple test, we only specify small portion of user memory

First, select a desired tag by pressing “ENTER”

Press another “ENTER” and it will move to read tag menu and show “success!!! “ at the bottom

Press another “ENTER” and it will move to write tag menu.

By pressing “CLEAR”, you can write desired information

Press “ENTER” to write and it will show “success!!!” at the bottom

GPS

a) Navigate mode

It shows the latitude and longitude of current location along with current local hour in the bottom of the menu

b) Show signal

It shows the “Signal Strength” and “Satellite InView.” Satellite InView is the number of satellite that HIT731 gets the signal At the bottom, number in [ ]is the satellite ID number and the next number is its signal strength.

Make sure your device connected with at least four GPS satellites to operate properly. We recommend to use the device outside.

When a card is inserted correctly and read the card information, OK sign will be displayed.

Additional function can be added as per request.
