• FluoroTechnology is essential to thousands of products and applications throughout the global economy.
• Globally, the market value of processed FluoroTechnology* reached $19.7 billion in 2013.
• In 2013, more than $1.2 trillion of global manufacturing output relied upon FluoroTechnology in either the end product itself, or in its processing.
*FluoroTechnology includes fluoropolymers, fluoroelastomers, and fluorotelomer-based materials and products made with these materials. It does not include refrigerant gases.

• Firefighting foams to extinguish flammable liquid fires (Class B fires)

• Low surface tension and positive spreading coefficient, burnback resistance

• Alternatives that gained regulatory approval exist for most uses of long-chain PFAS
• “Non-fluorine containing substances are available for some applications, but may not work as well as long-chain PFASs, particularly in situations where extremely low surface tension and/or durable oil- and water-repellence is needed.”

• Because of its unique physical properties, fluoro-technology is an integral and essential part of the global economy and every day life.
• Without FluoroTechnology, many of the mentioned industries could not function and quality of life would be very different.
