HEMATOPOYESIS
Es un proceso vital complejo destinado
a la reposición de las células progenitoras
hematopoyéticas y de las células sanguíneas
maduras a partir de un compartimiento de
células pluripotenciales, regulado por la
interacción entre citoquinas solubles,
asociadas con las membranas celulares
y sus correspondientes receptores.

Totipotenciales (del latín Totus, todos): pueden originar cualquiera
de los más de 200 tipos celulares que forman un organismo y,
por tanto, cualquier tejido. Sólo se pueden obtener en las primeras
fases del desarrollo de un embrión. El zigoto, la fusión del óvulo
y el espermatozoide, sería un ejemplo de célula totipotente

Pluripotenciales (del latín Plures, varios, muchos): pueden generar
casi cualquier tipo celular, pero no pueden generar un organismo
completo
Multipotenciales: tienen un cierto grado de diferenciación,
es decir, tienen determinados rasgos de un tejido concreto.
Un ejemplo son las células madre hematopoyéticas que
están en la médula ósea y que se transforman en todas las
células sanguíneas, tanto glóbulos rojos como glóbulos blancos
y plaquetas
