Chapter 1 Product Overview Thank you for purchasing our 802.11n 150Mbps Wireless PCIe Adapter. The cards provide convenient, fast wireless Internet access method. The card supports automatic

detection, adjust the speed automatically and wireless transmission rates up to 150Mbps. Support WEP, WPA, WPA2, password for wireless plus model and provide

security for wireless network connection. In order to understand the product and its use during the installation, please read the User's Manual.

1.1 Features

Follow the IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11b and IEEE 802.11n standard

Wireless transmission rates up to 150Mbps, automatically adjust the rate base on the wireless network environment.

Supports 64/128 WEP, WPA/WPA2/WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK(TKIP/AES), supports IEEE 802.1X.

Supports Windows XP 32/64bit, Vista 32/64bit, Windows 7 32/64bit. Service 2000, 2003, 2008.

Supports WPS.

Detachable High Gain Omni Directional Antenna.

1.2 LED Status The Adapter features two LED indicators:

LINK/ACT: Steady green indicates good linkage between the adapter and its supporting server or switch. Flashing green indicates activity (transmitting or receiving) between the adapter.

Chapter 2 Installation Guide

2.1 Hardware Installation

To install the adapter, please follow these steps listed below:

1. Turn off your computer and unplug the power cord and all cables.

2. Remove your computer’s case cover.

3. Locate an available PCIe slot.

4. Remove the screw that secures the back plate (the small piece of metal that covers the opening for PCIe card on the back panel of your computer), then remove the back plate.

5. Carefully insert the adapter into the PCIe slot. Do not touch the metal connector

on the adapter.

6. Secure the adapter to the case using the screw you removed from the back plate.

7. Reinstall your computer’s case cover.

8. Plug in the power cord and other cables, and then turn on your computer.

2.2 Driver Installation in Windows XP

Notes A manual installation will install the driver for the Wireless adapter only; it will not install any associated software therefore you have to use the built-in Windows wireless utility.

1. Put the Driver CD-ROM into your CD/DVD Drive, Windows will AutoRun the disc.

If the Windows did not perform AutoRun, please go to Desktop > My Computer > DVD/CD-ROM Drive > *double click*

2. InstallShield Wizard is preparing to install the driver. Click “Next”

3. InstallShield Wizard will now start to install the driver. Click “Install”

4. InstallShield Wizard finished the driver installation. Choose “Yes, I want to restart my computer now” then Click “Finish”

2.3 Driver Installation in Windows 7

5. Put the Driver CD-ROM into your CD/DVD Drive, Windows will AutoPlay the disc. Choose “Run setup.exe”

If you don’t have the AutoPlay window pop up, please go to Desktop > Computer > DVD/CD-ROM Drive > *double click*

6. InstallShield Wizard is preparing to install the driver. Click “Next”

7. InstallShield Wizard will now start to install the driver. Click “Install”

8. InstallShield Wizard finished the driver installation. Choose “Yes, I want to restart my computer now” then Click “Finish”

Chapter 3 Wireless Network Configuration Guide 3.1 Wireless Network Configuration for Windows XP

1. Please look at the bottom-right corner of your desktop, locate the wireless utility

icon, and double-click on it. Because the wireless card has not been connected

to any network at this point, it is natural to see the red “X” right next to the icon.

2. Once opened, please click on “Refresh Network List” to see all the networks

available. Please double-click on the one you would like to connect.

3. You may be asked to enter the password if the network has security parameters

set. Please enter accordingly.

4. Windows will then try to negotiate with the wireless network and establish a

connection. When done, you should see the “Connected” sign accordingly, and

the wireless utility on bottom-right corner should show the green, wave-like status

indicator.

3.2 Wireless Network Configuration for Windows 7

1. Please look at the bottom-right corner of your desktop, locate the wireless utility icon, and double-click on it. Because the wireless card has not been connected to any network at this point, it is natural to see the “Yellow triangle with !” right next to the icon.

2. Once opened, you will be able to see all the networks available. Please double-click on the one you would like to connect.

3. You may be asked to enter the password if the network has security parameters set. Please enter accordingly.

4. Windows will then try to negotiate with the wireless network and establish a connection. When done, you should see the “Connected” sign accordingly, and
