Mr. Chaput is Founder and CEO of Clearwater ComplianceLLC. Havingserved in operational and technology assignments in largehealthcare enterprises, Mr. Chaput is no stranger toprotecting large amounts of healthcare data – hisexperience includes responsibility for some of the world’s

largest healthcare, HR and benefits databases, requiringthe highest levels of security and privacy while a seniorexecutive at GE, Johnson & Johnson and Healthways, Inc.

Over the years he has also built, grown and sold a numberof businesses serving industries with strict regulatoryrequirements, with deep experience in HIPAA and HITECHrules. He speaks and writes extensively on HIPAA andHITECH privacy and security matters and is a recognizedHIPAA-HITECH data security expert.

Jim Pyles, a co-founder of the Washington, D.C. law firm,Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville, has more than forty years ofexperience in litigation, counseling, and lobbying in the fieldof health law and policy. Upon graduating from law school,Mr. Pyles served for six years in the Office of the GeneralCounsel for the US Department of Health, Education, andWelfare, where he received the department's DistinguishedService Award for successfully handling complex Medicarelitigation. Nationally known for his expertise with respect tothe legal issues related to health information technology andhealth information privacy, chronic care coordination, homehealth, hospice, and ambulatory care services, Mr. Pyles alsohas experience in nearly all areas of the firm's practice.

In addition, he is a registered lobbyist for several health careassociations and participates intensively in health reform atthe federal and state levels. He has crafted major pieces ofhealth care legislation in many areas covered by the

Medicare Act. Mr. Pyles was a principal designer and authorof the Independence at Home program enacted withbipartisan support as part of the Patient Protection andAffordable Care Act of 2010.

Mr. Pyles' expertise encompasses the legislative andregulatory aspects of government and private healthinsurance coverage and reimbursement; the legal aspects ofacquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, and networks; and thelaw pertaining to fraud and abuse. He writes and lecturesfrequently on health reform issues and appears periodicallyon national television as a health care commentator.

Mr. Pyles serves as counsel to several national mental healthand state home care associations and is a member of theBoard of Directors of a national physician house callassociation.

Ms. Chaput serves as Chief Financial and Compliance Officerfor Clearwater Compliance LLC, a solutions company helpingorganizations become and remain compliant with the U.S.rules and regulations associated with protecting andsecuring health information.

Previously, as Executive Vice President and Chief FinancialOfficer for Healthways, Inc. for 10 years, a public companyproviding disease management, wellness and preventionprograms to Health Plan members and employers, Ms.Chaput was responsible for enterprise risk management,including finance, legal, investor relations and HIPAAcompliance. As HIPAA Compliance Officer, Mary wasinvolved with the protection of 500 terabytes of health databelonging to approximately 40 million Americans.

Prior to joining Healthways, Ms. Chaput held the position ofVice President and Chief Financial Officer for ClinTrialsResearch, a public contract research organizationconducting clinical trials for pharmaceutical and biotechcompanies. Her 35 years of international and domesticbusiness experience spans the healthcare, informationservices, manufacturing and venture capital consultingindustries. A graduate of the General Electric FinancialManagement Program, Mary earned her MA in Mathematicsfrom Russell Sage College and MBA, summa cum laude, fromState University of New York, Albany.

Mr. Andrews will deliver a special presentation on “Survivingan OCR Investigation”. He is SVP, Business Development andChief Compliance Officer of Hospice Compassus, where hehas been employed since 2004. He has 18 years inhealthcare, including 8 in hospice. In his role as Senior VicePresident of Business Development, Mr. Andrews leads allacquisition, de novo, and partnership efforts. In his role asChief Compliance Officer, he leads the compliance, internalaudit, and risk management functions. Prior to his currentrole, Mr. Andrews served as Chief Financial Officer for fiveyears, helping build Hospice Compassus from a start-up to amiddle-market company.

Prior to joining Hospice Compassus, Mr. Andrews worked inmanagement consulting with Booz Allen Hamilton in theNew York office, consulting with heath plans andpharmaceutical companies. He started his career in publicaccounting with Ernst & Young, where he audited public andprivate companies. He also served in the U.S. Army.Mr. Andrews holds a BS in Commerce and Administration aswell as a Master of Accountancy degree from the Universityof Alabama, and a Masters in Health Policy and Managementfrom Harvard University
