Hindustan Lever Ltd Hindustan Lever Ltd (HLL) is India's largest Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company. HLL's brands like Lifebuoy, Lux, Surf Excel, Rin, Wheel, Fair & Lovely, Pond's, Sunsilk, Clinic, Pepsodent, Close-up, Lakme, Brooke Bond, Kissan, Knorr-Annapurna, Kwality Wall's are household names across the country and span a host of categories, such as soaps, detergents, personal products, tea, coffee, branded staples, ice cream and culinary products. These products are manufactured over 40 factories across India and the associated operations involve over 2,000 suppliers and associates In the late 19th and early 20th century Unilever used to export its products to India. This process began in 1888 with the export of Sunlight soap, which was followed by Lifebuoy in 1895 and other famous brands like Pears, Lux and Vim soon after. In 1931, Unilever set up its first Indian subsidiary, Hindustan Vanaspati Manufacturing Company, followed by Lever Brothers India Limited (1933) and United Traders Limited (1935). 1988 The Company was incorporated on 13th October, under the name of Marico Foods Ltd. It obtained the Certificate of commencement of business on 22nd November. - The Company is engaged in the business of manufacture and marketing of branded personal care products, edible oils, fabric care products and processed foods. The Company's products are sold under the brand names Parachute, Saffola, Sweekar, Marico's Hair & Care, Revive and Sil. 1989 The name of the Company was changed to Marico Industries Limited w.e.f. 31st October. - In December, the Company entered into an agreement with M/s. Rasoi Industries Limited for purchase of its unit located at M.I.D.C. Industrial Estate, Jalgaon.

P&g hygiene1964 - The Company was Incorporated on 20th July at Mumbai. The company was promoted by Richardson-Marrell Inc., New York and its wholly owned subsidiary - vicks Products Inc., India. - 90 shares taken up by signatories to Memorandum of Association. 110 shares issued to Richardson Merrell Inc., U.S.A. In October, Procter & Gamble Co., acquired Richardson-Vicks Inc and consequent to this, Richardson Hindustan Ltd. (RHL), became an affiliate of Procter & Gamble Co. In view of this, the name of the Company was changed to Procter & Gamble India Ltd., from Richardson Hindustan Ltd., with effect from 4th April, 1988. - The Company proposed to change its name to Procter & Gamble Hygiene and Health Care Ltd. to better reflect the nature and character of the business and in keeping with company's objective of focussing on its core categories viz.
