Principal’s Pen

Assembly

Thank you C6 students and Mrs Hosking for hosting last week’s assembly. I really enjoyed your

Valentine’s Day focus, highlighting the importance of gratitude and appreciation across cultures. Well

done!

Our next assembly will be held on Friday February 28 at 8:45am. This assembly will be presented by the

talented students in A2, under the guidance and direction of Mrs Sheriff and Mrs McMorran.

Staffing

Mrs Dewing is currently enjoying long service leave and Mr McKenna will be teaching in A1 for Term 1.

Muster Update

At Muster we acknowledged C6’s wonderful assembly and the impressive whole body listening

demonstrated by the school. We celebrated our new student leaders and faction leaders and reminded

everyone about the importance of using the pathways, rather than cutting through the carparks which is

unsafe.

Uniform Update

This year we introduced the new HPS dress and we now wait for our new school and faction polo’s to be

made available. With the introduction of our new uniform items there will be a phase in period or

transition period of 18 months. We hope the older style items will be phased out by the end of 2021.

It’s very pleasing to see our students demonstrating a sense of belonging and school pride through

wearing the HPS uniform. Thank you parents and carers for your support.

Swimming

The Year 5 and 6 students have made a smooth start to their swimming lessons. Thank you to Mrs Pring

Front Office Student Work – C2

Money Envelopes

Due to new auditing requirements, we are now no longer able to accept permission slips for excursions/incursions

without them being placed in one of the schools money envelopes. The money envelope needs to be completed in

full (even if you are paying by Direct Deposit) with the permission slip enclosed. You can hand the envelope directly

to your classroom teacher or into the office. If you need a money envelope, please collect one from the office.

Sign In/Out

All students are required to be signed in at the front office if they arrive after the morning bell. Please do not take

them directly to class without coming through the front office first. If you need to pick up your child during the day

then please ensure they are signed out at the front office first.

Your help in this matter is much appreciated.

Swimming Squad

Students who have indicated an interest in trying out for this year's swimming squad have been given an explanation note about the first two weeks of pre-trials. The $10 charge to cover pool entry and lane hire was due Monday 10th February. The dates and times are as follows:

Monday 10th February @ Greenwood College (25m pool) - 3.30-4.30pm

Tuesday 11th February @ Craigie Leisure Centre (50m pool) - 3.15-4.00pm

Tuesday 18th February @ Craigie Leisure Centre (50m pool) - 3.15-4.00pm

Wednesday 19th February @ Greenwood College (25m pool) - 3.30-4.30pm

We are hopeful that we will have confirmation of pool availability by the end of the week and then we will be able to provide dates and costings for the remaining training sessions beyond the initial two weeks.

Sorry for any inconvenience but the delay has been out of our control.
