Like- wise the Via Alpina and the Alpine variant of the well-known E4 European long-distance path pass through the Olympiaregion Seefeld. Pilgrims also enjoy walking here – one of the routes of the Way of St. James leads from Munich straight through the Leutaschtal valley and then on to Telfs where it joins the Tyrolean Way of St. James. The 12 km long permanent IVV hiking trail takes walkers through the villages of Mösern and Seefeld. HIKING IN THE OLYMPIAREGION SEEFELD

Its unique location alone makes the Olympiare-gion Seefeld, with its villages Seefeld, Leutasch, Mösern, Reith and Scharnitz, a veritable hikers’ paradise boasting some 650 km of mountain walking and hiking paths.

STARTING FEE / REGISTRATION IN ADVANCE• The starting fee is € 20.00 (applies when the fee is transferred before 10th September, there- after a fee of € 25.00 applies) for all 3 days, incl. IML medal, official stamp and certificate. • The late registration fee is € 25.00. • 20 km is the minimum distance that must be covered on each of the 3 days – validation at the control check points.

Registration: [email protected] Late registrations are accepted, as well as last-minute registrations at the event site, in the Festhalle Wet-terstein hall at the ErlebnisWelt Alpenbad Leutasch leisure centre (starting/finishing point) on Thursday from 10.00 am – 9.00 pm and on Friday from 6.00 am onwards. (Late starting fee of € 25.00 applies.)

IVV accreditation without an award: € 2.90 per person, per walk.

Fresh fruit, muesli bars, tea and juice are available at all the refreshment stops.

GROUP EVALUATION AND GROUP REGIS-TRATION • A group must comprise at least 11 participants.• Only official clubs/associations will be evaluated.• Travel organisations/company groups are as sessed separately.• The group participants may start at different times; starting cards must be stamped at the control checkpoints. • Winner is the group with most participants each of whom walks at least 20 km on all three days.

REGISTRATION OF MILITARY GROUPS• The military group members (no minimum number of participants) must participate toge- ther as a group and start simultaneously. Every participant of the group must cover a distance of at least 20 km on all three days. • Field packs are not compulsory. • Participants are awarded an IML medal, a certifi- cate and an official stamp.• Separate evaluation for military groups. IMPORTANT

Not a performance sport event, no timing, no tar-get times. Each participant acknowledges the invi-tation conditions and the guidelines of the ÖVV. In addition, the participants undertake to comply with sporting and environment protection principles.

PARKINGAmple parking spaces are available at the Erleb-nisWelt Alpenbad leisure centre in Leutasch and beside the sports grounds.

STARTING CARDSThe starting cards are issued at the Wetterstein Hall/ErlebnisWelt Alpenbad Leutasch on Thursday, 15th September between 10.00 am and 9.00 pm and on Friday from 6.00 am onwards. The starting cards must be fully completed and carried perso-nally during the hike for stamping at the check-points; each participant may only have one card stamped. The failure to use starting cards shall give rise neither to a claim for an award nor to a refund of the starting fee.

INSURANCEIs the participants’ responsibility. The organiser assumes no liability for illness, accidents, theft and the like. The organiser holds third-party liability in-surance through the ÖVV.The Austrian insurance company Europäische Rei-seversicherung offers insurance cover suitable for the event: www.europäische.at

TRANSFER FROM/TO SEEFELDThe Leutasch area boasts numerous fantastic ac-commodation options in almost every category. Those guests who prefer to stick to their usual accommodation in Seefeld can make use of the bus transfers organised by VVT (public transport authority) with additional, early-morning transfers specially arranged for the IML for all those who want to start between 6 and 7 am. Member of the Austrian PopularSports Federation within the IVV. The event

counts towards the International PopularSports Medal. The IVV Hiking Stamp can

only be awarded if 1. the participant personally submits his/her IVV identity card
