HIGHLIGHTS - 2010
2010 was an exciting year for WSX…it was an extremely busy year for Ian, but also very
satisfying for us all with the rebranding of our logo and a new website that is both
informative and visually exciting for you, our clients, both old and new… and for those that
agree 'once is never enough' www.worldsafariexpeditions.com
The new site has taken a number of years to bring to fruition - the final product is now world
class with destinations to suite your taste, wish list and budget. We can now tailor make a
safari to fit whatever dream you have, so you will return home and say 'Once is Never
Enough'.
During this year our clients hunted in five countries - New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina,
Australia and Zimbabwe. On the completion of Ian’s hunt in Zimbabwe, Pam and Ian’s
Personal assistant Chris, joined him to undertake a fact finding mission looking at new lodges
and introducing Chris to our people in South Africa. Chris can now speak from the heart to
you with authority on the places, people, animals, sights and smells that are AFRICA!
New Zealand - Bird Shooting Twilight Hunting and Riverview Lodge, (both favourite destinations for our clients)
once again proved why they attract so many return bookings. Robert Sturzaker and friends
enjoyed their hunt at Riverview Lodge so much so they have rebooked for 2011. So too
Geoff, the two Pauls, Vince and Travis will be hunting again in 2011 with Bevan Knowles at
Twilight Hunting. Hunts started as early as February and continued in March, through Duck
Opening in May, with our last hunt at the end of July.
South Africa - bird shooting
Father and son combinations experienced some fantastic shooting. Barry and Mark Rogers
hunted with Bird Hunters Africa in the Free state and Kwa-Zulu Natal - 'a trip of a lifetime'
for Barry. This region offers exciting shooting for the most varied bag of game birds and
waterfowl in Africa. Mark hopes to return again in 2011 with a group of friends and partners.
Ian will be leading a World Safaris Xpedition group hunt (July 1-11, 2010) with Bird
Hunters Africa. The hunt is filling fast, so you'll have to move quickly to get in on this
shoot.
Argentina - Bird Shooting
Wingshooting in Argentina, hot barrel style, is
an activity that must be experienced rather than
explained! Ben and Roger from Tasmania had
a successful and very happy shoot with
ArgentinaSafaris.com bagging some wonderful
Waterfowl and experiencing the thrill of a hot
barrel shoot.
Australia - Bird Shooting
Victoria Range Game Reserve specializes in walk up hunting of pheasant and partridge
using pointing and flushing dogs - the Gubas group of friends had such great fun shooting in
the diverse terrain of the Victorian Grampians, they returned twice this season. As our motto
says 'Once is Never Enough'.

South Africa - Game Hunting
A favourite destination of ours saw six hunts to the very popular Tshipise Safaris - four first
time hunters to South Africa, and two repeat clients hunting in both the Popallin and green
Kalahari areas - Anton taking the best Gemsbok for the 2010 season.
Allan Bellingham enjoyed his first overseas hunt bagging twelve trophies and Beau Bugter
returning for the second time in two years, is already making plans for his next hunt!
Father and son Bill and Andy Muhlebach, supported by Jenny as an observer, made their
first South African hunt a family affair.
Peet Bezuidenhout, (Outfitter and Owner of Tshipise Safaris) guided Mark McLean and
his family on a most successful twenty-one day family safari, taking nineteen animals
including the elusive Caracal. Peet believes Mark is one of the finest shots he has seen, and
young Cameron McLean looks to be following in his dad's footsteps, taking no less than
five trophies.
Timkulu Safaris gave us two of our most
successful hunts. The first, a game hunt based
out of Warrenton/Kimberley, and the second a
father and son combo bird/game hunt.
The combo hunt covered areas in both the
Northern Cape and the Northern Province and
produced a 'Baboon Specialist' from our ranks
- a very happy Vince Vaina. Vince and son
Travis plan to do it all again in 2011.
Australia - Game Hunting This season saw us run our first hunt with Dean McFarlane owner/operator of Point Stuart Wilderness Lodge. Situated in the beautiful Mary River Wetlands, this very professional outfitter specializes in hunting wild pigs 'Aussie style' in the tropical Top End. Dean also guides on wing shooting of Magpie Geese and fishing the fighting Barramundi, making a great combo hunt. Father and son team Vince and Travis Vaina travelled north shooting several very large pigs and a good bag of magpie geese.
Zimbabwe - Game Hunting
Ian's own safari was in October this year, with good
friend and client Brian Watson, hunting with Pro
Safaris Africa for Elephant and Buffalo. They
both reckon that in a combined 23 years of hunting
experience, this was 'one of the most adrenalin
pumping and wild hunts we have experienced' - that's
really saying something!
They hunted in the Rifa area which specializes in
dangerous game - Elephant, Buffalo, Cats, Hippo
and Crocs.
New to our stable this year Pro Safaris Africa offer
professional, personalised, real 'old school' custom-made
safaris with focus on quality.
In conclusion, 2010 has yet again seen a very successful hunting season for World Safari
Xpeditions. We would like to say thank you to you, our clients and many friends, for
allowing WSX to take care of your hunting travels this season. Ian will be heading to Reno
SCI in January to look for the latest on new destinations and prices for 2011- so keep tuned to
our website www.worldsafariexpeditions.com for updates.
We look forward to seeing many of you on February 26 and 27 at SCI in Coffs Harbour.
We wish you all the very best for a happy and safe Christmas and New Year- GOOD
HUNTING!
Ian and Pam Head, and Christine Coles
Comments:
'The opportunity to hunt Africa the traditional, the real way, does not come any better than this. I have
accumulated more seriously real hunting in one visit to the Rifa than on all 8 previous trips to Africa. My
hunting knowledge was also considerably enhanced by the extremely helpful PH's I had the fortune to work
with' - Brian Watson, October 2011
'I have been hunting overseas for over twenty years now, on four continents, and the last hunt with World Safari
Xpeditions was our best.' Mark McLean, November 2011
'With WSX I have had the experience of a lifetime with my son. The quality of shooting and organization made
this safari stress free; all I needed to focus on was shooting and enjoying myself. World Safari Xpeditions can
make anything yu wish for come true.' Vince Vaina - October, 2011
