The 2018-19 Wrestling All-Stars
Shawn Conniff, King Philip
The junior captain is a two-time Divi-sion 2 Central Sectional champion, having
earned his most recent title at 195 pounds with three wins by pin. A product of New England Gold Wres-tling, Conniff advanced to finish second at Division 2 States and seventh at All- States. He then claimed four wins at the New England
Championships. A two-time Sun Chronicle All-Star and an All-Hockomock selection, he has surpassed 100 wins with a 103-24 overall record.
Luke Fitch, King Philip
The No. 1 seed in the Division 2 Cen-tral Sectional at 182 pounds made quick
work in his title pursuit with three wins by pin en route to claiming his first crown. A Hockomock League All-Star, Fitch took fourth in the Divi-sion 2 State competition and qualified for All-States. “He always devotes 100 percent to his wrestling,” said KP
coach John Adams of the senior captain. Fitch concluded his four-year career with a 102-46 record.
Mohammed Lotfi, King Philip
The 145-pound senior captain finished as the runner-up at both the Division 2 Cen-
tral Sectional and Division 2 state meets prior to earning the team’s best finish in the All-State competition where he took fifth place. A first-time Sun Chronicle All-Star and All-Hockomock selec-tion, Lotfi qualified for the New England competition. “He is determined, mental-
ly tough,” said KP coach John Adams of Lotfi, who finished his career with a 97-45 record.
Tommy Gallagher, Foxboro
After spending his first two years in the same weight classes as some of the best to ever grace the Foxboro program, the 138-pound Gallagher added to his own accolades with his first Division 3 South Sectional and Division 3 state titles. The Foxboro senior finished seventh at the All-
State meet, totaling a 43-8 record during his final season with 114 career victories. He was named a Hockomock League All-Star and is a two-time Sun Chronicle selection.
Shayne Kerrigan, Foxboro
A three-time Division 3 South Sectional champion, the 132-pound junior surpassed 100 wins in just three years. Kerrigan continued his postseason success with a Division 3 state title after finishing as a finalist last season. A three-sport athlete at Foxboro, Kerrigan was named a Hocko-mock League All-Star and three-time Sun Chronicle selection. He won the Chelms-ford Tournament and finished the season with a 36-8 record. He has 104 career wins.
Adam Lanctot, Foxboro
A four-year contributor, Lanctot suf-fered one of the tougher losses in his career against North Attleboro this year, but did not let it define him. Instead, the 120-pound Lanctot bounced back in the postseason, taking third in the Division 3 South Sectional and then advanced to claim third again at Division 3 States. He was one of four to eclipse the 100-win mark
this season, concluding his career with 133 victories after a 37-11 campaign.
William Ogbebor, Foxboro
The 220-pound senior saved his best wrestling for the end of the season yet again. Ogbebor was one of three Warriors to win a Division 3 South Sectional title, prior to finishing as the runner-up at the Division 3 State Meet. Ogbebor also earned the team’s best finish at the All-State Meet as he finished in third place. A repeat Sun Chronicle All-Star and All-Hockomock se-lection, he went 45-9 record and concluded with 126 career victories.
Jayden Curley, Mansfield
The first New England champion in the Hornet program, the 170-pound senior capped his career with his best season. In addition to his regional title, Curley won the All-State Meet, the Division 1 South Sectionals and the Marshfield Holiday Tournament. He placed third at the Di-vision 1 State Meet. Curley went 49-2 this season and finished his Hornets’ career with a 153-31 career record. He was a Hoc-komock League All-Star and is a two-time Sun Chronicle selection.
CJ Glaropoulos, Mansfield
The 152-pounder is only the second in Mansfield history to win the Divi-sion 1 State title as a sophomore. In his second year starting, the Hockomock League All-Star compiled a 43-5 overall record. He qualified for the All-State Tournament, where he finished third, after winning the South Sectional title, the state crown and placing third in the Marshfield Tournament. “The sky is the limit for him,” said Mansfield coach Mark DiSanto.
George Glaropoulos, Mansfield
The 160-pound senior captain broke the career 100-win mark this season with his 46-6 record. He concluded 129-31 overall following four years in the starting lineup. The elder of the Glaropoulos brothers won the Division 1 South Sectional title prior to claiming third place at Division 1 States and seventh at the All-State competition. A repeat Sun Chronicle All-Star, Glaropoulos also won the Marshfield Tournament for the sectional champion Hornets.
Ethan Nirenberg, Mansfield
“Ethan showed the most improvement of anyone this season,” Mansfield coach Mark DiSanto said of the 182-pound senior, who was a three-year starter for the program. Nirenberg was a Division 1 South Sectional champion for the South Sectional team champion Hornets. He placed sixth at the Division 1 State Meet and was third at the Marshfield Holiday Tournament. A first-time Sun Chronicle se-lection, Nirenberg compiled a 27-12 record this season.
