Upgrading eSchoolPLUS
Information Services and Applications (ISA)
Posted by September 28, 2018
The ISA eSchoolPLUS Team attended an online training session for eSchoolPLUS version 4.1.
The new features in this version far exceed the previous version. To gain access to these great
additions, and provide extraordinary support to our counselors, CFISD is coordinating with
PowerSchool to move to this version. Though as with all upgrades, it comes with risk, the teamwork
for CFISD and PowerSchool and the added features out weighs the risk. We have the best and
brightest minds working on the upgrade.

John Crumbley
This week has an exciting fast-
paced week full of meetings and
events. The main event was the
go / no go upgrade of eSchool. To
provide support to the secondary
counselors, we needed to
upgrade. However, after surveying
our stakeholders, it became
evident that we could not upgrade
this weekend, as UIL Eligibility
Verification was taking place. A
special THANK YOU to everyone
that helped with this decision.–

Next Steps
Since the upgrade to eSchoolPLUS 4.1 has been
postponed indefinitely, a calm now settles over my
team and myself. We will be working diligently to
have a custom program in place toward the end of
October that will help counselors determine the
number of students in a physical classroom and also
how many of those students are special ed. Then we
look toward the future for the release of
eSchoolPLUS 4.2 and it’s connectivity to Unified
Classroom. As always, next steps.
- Rodney White Rodney White
This week I reflect on how fast the
week passed.
I am having a problem
remembering all of the problems
and issues I resolved or delegated.
I’ve been working on a new
method of reporting and project
tracking. What I need to develop is
an easy way to record the small
challenges that can take a lot of
small chunks of time in one day.
Then I would have something
great.
We are always looking for a better
way.
