Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating eighth grade

students to be used for their first year of high school in the fall of 2015.

Three $3,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school

seniors to be used for their first year of college in the fall of 2015.

You must be a Niles resident to participate or be the son/daughter of

an employee that works at a Niles Chamber business. Applications are

judged on service to the community and school, response to an essay,

awards and honors, school transcripts and test scores. Deadline to

apply is March 31, 2015.

In the past twelve years this program has awarded

over $125,000 in scholarships to area students.

Schmeisser's makes over 70 products in their cheerful, chalet inspired shop right here in Niles. They offer every-thing from Fully Cooked Sausage, Fully Cooked Smoked Sausage & Meat, Fresh Sausages, Lunch Meats & Salads, Hamburger Patties, Homemade Soups, Prepared Meals & Foods, Loaves & Roasts, Homemade Frozen Quick Meals, and everything that is ”Just for the Grill”. They also have their own onsite smokehouse. Schmeisser’s was also recognized as the creator of the “Big Hot Dog”. A 7-pound and 16 inch long sausage which was officially named the largest commercially avail-able hot dog according to Guinness World Records.

Schmeisser's is right for everyday din-ners as well as that special grilling or holiday meal. Four generations of Schmeisser’s have watched over this still bustling shop with hungry custom-ers that come for substance over sub-standard fare. Kurt Schmeisser, grand-

son of founder Herbert Schmeisser and son of Herb Jr. currently runs the store with help from brother Amery. Brothers Klay, and Eric pitch in during the holi-days and even Kurt's young sons, Luke and Cole help in the shop once a week after school.

For first time customers please note that Schmeisser’s is a cash only busi-ness. They do however have an ATM in their store for your convenience. Customers can also call in their orders in advance for pick-up or shop online at www.schmeisserssausage.com. Orders are shipped in a sturdy Styrofoam containers using ice packs (not dry ice) to enjoy Schmeisser’s from almost anywhere.

Niles Color Center has been serving our

community since the early 1940’s as a

Dennis Zucker who continued to honor
