The Speed-Guardian™ 5000 high speed rigid security door is characterized by an elegant Micrograin™ surface finish with hot-galvanized, double-skinned steel sections, providing excellent thermal insulation and fast opening speeds thanks to non-contact roll-up technology. 10” high x 1-5/8” thick (42 mm) panel slats have improved thermal breaks for greater energy efficiency. Vision slats also include improved thermal breaks, and our exclusive Duratec® protective coating is standard. The taller slat dimension, as compared to the 9” high panel slat on the original Model 4000, provides 15% more visibilty.

Non-contact roll-up technologyThe sections are guided in a circular bracket for exceptionally fast opening speeds and precise door travel. Thanks to non-contact roll-up technology, there is no wear on the door sections, which helps the door maintain its clean appearance for a long time. In addition, the standard frequency converter control takes stress off the entire door mechanism, extending the service life of the door.

NEMA 4X Smart Start™ NXT control box*All 5000 models now include our Smart Start™ NXT, next generation, NEMA 4X, control box as standard. The updated control box has a simplified wiring configuration and is more powerful, has fewer components and cables as compared to the original Smart Start™. A color-coded distribution block accepts the activation and protection device wiring; main power cables feed through pre-drilled holes on the bottom of the box where the individual wires, with pre-wired removable terminal blocks, simply plug into the circuit board. Additional parts are no longer required for voltage changes in the field, and 24 v DC power is now used for the brake rectifier. There are extra ports on the control board allowing for firmware upgrades and future expansion. A USB port is included for maintenance monitoring. *Effective April 1, 2017

Highly insulated panel sectionsThe 10” high x 1-5/8” thick door panel made of hot-dipped galvanized steel, provides a durable and lasting surface. A urethane core with an R-value of 13.6 and U-value 1.04 (U-value of core) provides optimal insulation and contributes to energy savings. Synthetic panel connectors, though independent of the panel strength, have been quality tested and subjected to hundreds of thousands of cycles and provide an extremely smooth and quiet door operation.

Duratec® insulated windowsThe Duratec® insulated windows are coated with a special finish which prevents marks and scratches caused by cleaning, and retain clear view after many cleanings. All 5000 models have optional tinted / privacy vision slats available: Obscured White or Smoke Gray. Perforated vision slats are also optional. An advanced window design allows for individual replacement without having to dis-assemble the entire panel.

Non-contact built-in light gridThe standard light grid is integral with the guide tracks making it less susceptible to damage by passing loads and eliminates the need for additional protection devices such as a reversing edge and photocell. Complete vision (CV) model The CV model is a complete panel of vision slats that allows more light into the building and more visibility from inside to outside. The attractive design is a popular choice of automotive retail facilities for its aesthetic appeal and security. The tall 10” slat height dimension, provides 15% more visibilty as compared to the 4000 as well as additional vertical stability, which makes it possible to reduce the number of vertical mullions used on vision slats.

Model 4600 RE (Economy)The 4600 RE is an economical choice when the application calls for the ruggedness of a rubber door, but the number of cycles will be low. Spring assisted operation provides 50 - 100,000 cycles maintenance-free. The operator is the industrial GHC series, and opens the door at a speed of up to 12” / second. A 3-button push button is included as standard for activation.

Model 4600 RS (Standard) For areas with moderate traffic, select the model 4600 RS. The GFA direct-drive motor opens the door at a speed of up to 36" / second without the use of springs, accommodating a more steady traffic flow. The standard wall mounted control box includes a 3-button control and rotary disconnect.

Model 4600 RD (Deluxe) Busy applications with high cycles are ideal locations for the model 4600 RD. The GFA direct-drive, variable speed motor with soft start / stop opens the door at a speed of up to 36” / second without the use of springs for maximum maintenance-free operation. A standard wall mounted control box includes a 3-button control and rotary disconnect.

All rubber door models include two NEMA 4 photocells which automatically reverse the door if the beam is interrupted. An emergency chain hoist allows for emergency opening of the door during a power outage. The following activations are optional: pull cord, motion detector, induction loop detector and remote control.

The robust panel along with one-half inch thick windlocks keep the panel in place with wind pressure up to 88 mph.** Heavy-duty structural steel guide tracks are low-profile, occupying only 4” on each side of the door opening. Stainless steel construction is ideal for the food industryThe Food-Master design allows the selection of the stainless steel options the application requires. Able to conform with all industry requirements, the following are available in stainless steel, making it possible to build a Food-Master door without paying for unnecessary options: Roll tube / hollow shaft, motor cover, guide tracks, control box and all hardware.

Two effective panel materialsThe standard is a 40 oz./sq. yard white nylon-reinforced, PVC, perfect for basic applications. An optional 90 oz./sq. yard 100 percent FDA approved white polyurethane panel material is available for optimum FDA compliance. A vision area is unavailable with the 90 oz. material to maintain FDA acceptance. With either material, the panel maintains stability via spring steel stiffeners located in completely sealed panel pockets.

Light grid reliable after wash-downAn 8’0” high light grid is standard and built into the guide tracks. Free of coil cords, the light grid provides a thorough wall of protection for personnel and equipment in the doorway, as compared to other doors that use only photocells. Simple design for no-frills applicationsThe basic non-timer control box. Doors up to 10’0” w x 10’0” h have a 110 v / 1 phase power requirement, and doors over 10’0” w x 10’0” h have a 230 v / 3 phase power requirement. Standard operation is hold to open / hold to close, and when automatic closing is required, an optional built-in light grid is included. A compact, direct-drive motor is maintenance free.

Light grid available for added protectionWhen automatic closing is required, an optional light grid is included. The light grid automatically reverses the door if the horizontal light beams are interrupted, and provides protection of personnel and equipment within the doorway. The light grid also eliminates the need for a panel reversing edge, which is typically vulnerable to damage, resulting in a reduction in maintenance and downtime.

Optional screen panels for ventilationThe Dock-Master / Screen-Master® comes in a sectional panel design. The panels are connected using aluminum profiles which allows for fast panel replacement when required. A high strength, polyester screen material can be interchanged with the solid panels in order to provide ventilation during the warmer months. This panel can be easily interchanged without special tools and is the solution to help prevent airborne contaminents such as birds and insects from entering the building.

The SC 1200 Screen-Master® is part of our original Insect Control Barrier product line, introduced in 1994.

Many customers have installed Screen-Master® doors to assist with improvement of their quality standards, and help achieving compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and American Institute of Baking (AIB) certification.

Recently, the CDC reported that mosquitoes linked with spreading the Zika virus bite mostly during the daytime, and it’s recommended to control mosquitoes through the use of screens on doors and windows. The SC 1200 Screen-Master® will help to deter insects from entering, but is not a guarantee against transmission of disease.

Light Grid

Continuous light beams shine across the door opening, from the floor up to 8’0” high, providing added protection of personnel and goods. Built-in light grids are standard on the Speed-Commander™ 1400 SEL (shown on left), Speed-Master® Series and Speed-Guardian™ Series. Consult the factory when considering the use of a light grid on the other high performance door models.

Amber Warning Light

This highly visible warning light has a lightweight plastic housing and turns on three seconds prior to closing until the door is closed. (pre-warning time is up to 60 seconds). The amber warning light is specified when a heightened awareness of traffic patterns is desired.

The amber warning light with horn may be used when an audible indicator along with a warning light is required.

Radar Motion Detector and Infrared Presence Detector(Activation and Protection Device)The model HF-MP detects both motion and presence. The HF-MP covers a wide range of applications where pedestrian and motorized traffic patterns co-exist. Recommended for locations with a lot of pedestrian traffic, this device substantially increases safety around the door opening because the door will not close as long as a person or object is present in the door range.
