In a CPC the nanoparticles are enlarged
via nucleus condensation.
The sample air passes through a heated
saturator where it is enriched with Butanol.
It is then cooled in the Condenser, where
the now supersaturated vapour condenses
on the particles that act as condensation
nuclei.
The resulting droplets are large enough to
be detected via optical light scattering.
Single Nano Particle Counters
Nano CPC Series 5.400

Problem II :
How to determine the particle size?
Sizer - DMA
Nano Particle Sizer - DMA

SMPS+E = DMA + DMA-Controller + FCE + SoftwareWhen combined with a DMA a Faraday Cup Electrometer (FCE) is used to obtain a Scanning Mobility
Particle Sizer (SMPS+E) for fastest time resolved measurements with the following advantages:
• absolute and fast counting with T10-90 = 88ms per channel
• no size limit (< 0.8 – 700 nm)
• huge concentration range (600 p/cm3 to 100,000,000 p/cm3)
• pressure range 400 to 1,100 hPa
