He advised residents not to krop Christmas trees after the foliage dries out and thry be­ come an extreme fire ha/.ard. When they are disposed, he cau­ tioned, the trees should not bo burned in fireplaces, because they burn extremely hot, and constitute a danger.

Christmas wrapping should he disposed of after the presents are opened and should be placed outside in a covered metal con­ tainer If possible.

Caution should also be used in using flame relnrdent cotton, if used around the base of the Christmas tree and under no cir­ cumstances should cheap im­ ported lights which are wired directly to the base be used. Cir­ cuit/? should also not he over­ loaded, and electric trains and other electric toys should not. be wt up mnrter the tree.

Yukon Traffic Hazard Cited

A parking ban on Yukon Ave., between Redondo Bearh Blvd. and 182nd St., and Improvement of Crenshaw Blvd. between 176th and 177th Sts., was requested Tuesday by the North Torrance Civic Improvement Association.

Mrs. Margaret Clark, president of the organization, charged that Yukon Ave. has become a traffic hazard to school children be­ cause many spots are unim­ proved. She urged that no park­ ing be permitted except for de­ liveries.
