Tips for Homeless Toiletry BagsThank you for offering to make toiletry bags for the Sydney homeless. The following provides some guidelines that we use when preparing our toiletries. Part of our ‘vision statement’ is to show compassion and hope for those we serve. Our aim is to also convey this through the way in which our toiletry bags are prepared.
• Toiletries are placed in zip lock bags ready for distribution.
• Bags should be labelled male/female with a permanent
marker.
• Male bags can include: razor, deodorant, soap or body wash,
tissues, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb and shampoo, socks.
• Female bags can include: deodorant, soap or body wash,
tissues, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb, shampoo, conditioner and
moisturiser.
• Other suggestions for both sexes include: bandaids; hand sanitizer; wet ones; tissues (small
pack);
• As we don’t always have all of these items in stock you will need to do the best you can with what
you have got. Not all bags need to be identical.
• Place the completed labelled bags in the empty washing baskets on the shelf, keeping the men’s
packs separate from the ladies.
• We see many more men than women so every time you make up 10 bags, let 9 be for men and 1
for women.
Without volunteers like you, Vinnies homeless support would not be possible.Thank you for your support!
