Blesses Love INC Clients

Financial Company contacted

Love INC requesting our help

in assisting his company in

some service work as a way

to celebrate their company’s

75th anniversary. He had

challenged his employees to

give of their time and money

to help some of our clients.

So the staff got busy matching clients with the skills of

his employees. They decided to have a Project Day, so

that all the different activities could take place on the

same day. A group of employees collected money and

bought items for our Baby Layette Program, as well as

purchasing cribs, strollers and Pack n Plays. They then

held a Baby Shower at Green Memorial Baptist Church,

where the clients came and received their gifts and met

the donors. They had a wonderful time of sharing and

Tim presented each of the new mothers with a Bible to

share with their family.

The next group of people went grocery shopping and

delivered food to 5 clients. They spent time with each

family praying and sharing with each other.

The next recipient of the day was Christian, a little

boy who has Down

Syndrome. His

grandmother is his

caregiver and he is

considered a

“runner”. She had

asked for a fence

so he would have a

safe play area. This

project was going

“Blessed are those that serve in the name of

Christ.” This was the theme for Love INC’s 18th year

annual Celebration. This theme expressed the gratitude

and blessings received by Love INC’s clients through the

dedication and love given by hundreds of volunteers in

the Charlotte community who serve in the name of Christ.

Ultimately, God blesses those that serve in ways unimag-

inable.

It was a memorable evening catered once again

by Carrabbas. Bud Carrier told a few of the many Love

INC stories. He reflected on the numerous needs of Love

INC clients and how volunteers stepped up time and time

again to serve people that would receive no help if it were

not for Love INC volunteers. These stories touched the

hearts of many and challenged everyone to step out to

serve the poor, disabled and elderly and show our city that

God is the God of Charlotte. THANK YOU again for all

that attended and those that served!

A Gift for You

‘Tis the most wonderful time of the year.

The Holiday season is upon us and I hope and pray that

for all of you this will be a wonderful time of peace, joy

and sharing. There is something miraculous about this

time of year that sometimes brings out our dormant gifts

of generosity and kindness. With the hustle and bustle of

the season it is easy to let these moments be too few and

far between. I hope that each of you will find a way to

draw on this generosity not only for those we love but for

someone in need. Our Lord said that whatever you do for

the least of my brothers, you do for me. Isn’t that really

who this season is about? There are an infinite number of

ways to fulfill this responsibility and I hope you will find

one that will bring you as much joy and peace as it does

to those receiving your gifts.

too big for Love INC until HF stepped in and wanted

to help. Thanks to the help of 8 volunteers giving up their

Saturday; Christian now has a safe place to play outside.

The final project for the day was building a ramp for

Sarah. She is in a wheelchair and it is very difficult for

her daughter to get her out of the house to go her doctor’s

appointments. Once again, this ramp was too big for

Love INC to build, due to the amount of stairs going into

the house. So we offered it to HF and, with the help of our

lead builder, they got it built even though they ran into

some challenging problems!

It was exciting to see a company based on Christian

principles whose employees attend different churches

working together to serve those that are less fortunate

than themselves. Everyone said they were so blessed and

appreciated the opportunity to serve our clients and

spread the love of Christ.

Carl Nance, one

of Love INC’s long time

ramp volunteers, went

home to be with the Lord

in October. Carl built

numerous ramps for our

clients over the past 10

years. It was always a joy

to have him stop by the

office with his overalls

and red polka dot hat on. We always knew he was coming

in to tell us a story about what God was doing in his life.

Carl was a real blessing to the ministry and his presence

will greatly be missed, but I know the Lord has a special

place in Heaven with Him, and I know that he won’t be

sitting still!

The Lord is always changing things and teaching

us new things: and here at Love In the Name of Christ we

have had several new changes in the past few months. We

lost three of our full and part time employees to UNCC,

continuing their education. However, God is faithful and

blessed us with 2 new ladies to keep the ministry going.

Chris Litaker is our new Placements Coordinator.

Some of you I’m sure have had the pleasure to talk with

her. She just loves to call and get you to help serve our

clients! It is sure a blessing to be working along side of

Chris and hear her excitement when she has connected a

client with a volunteer. Chris can’t believe she gets PAID

to do this!

Our next new employee is Kathy Heston. She is

our Intake and Ramp Coordinator, so she wears 2 hats and

they are keeping her busy. I know the job is challenging ,

but Kathy is keeping on top of things. She is doing a great

job of keeping our ramp builders busy and happy!

Thanksgiving Blessings!

For the 2nd year in a row the Reznick

Group decided to bless some of Love

INC's clients with a Thanksgiving

meal. They, along with other groups, provided the gro-

ceries for Thanksgiving meals for a grand total of 31

needy clients and their families.

Vilma was one such client. She called the Love

INC offices on Tuesday and needed food. One of the

clients for whom Reznick bought groceries for had dis-

covered that family was providing for them and told us

to share with another one of our clients in need. When

Vilma came to the Love INC offices and discovered

they had a turkey with all of the "trimmings" to feed her

family, she was overcome with emotion. She tearfully

told us how grateful she was for the food and said it

would feed her children for several days. God richly

blessed them through Love INC, a group of volunteers

from a company that cares, and a client who felt he was

already blessed and wanted to share his blessings.
