Central section was the former railway station and included the waiting room and Station Master•s residence. The waiting room and residence are weatherboard and have a metal tiled roof, which replaced a corrugated galvanized iron roof. The residence has an M-shaped gable end with lourved ventilators. Modern additions adJoin the northern and southern ends. The waiting room has a dressed stone chimney. The bowling club has retained the original station lamps and these are placed each side of the e~trance to the former waiting room section of the building.

The Beachport - Mount Gambie1 railway opened in 1879, to unite with the harbour facilities to make the town a maJor distribution centre. Beachoart never boomed quite as expected. and with the disappearance of the railway, the Station building has found an unusual use.

Desc l' i pt i o r1 : The Beachport Jetty was designed to be 4,000 feet (1,220 metres) in length with a 'T' head 122 feet (37.20 m.) long and 18 feet <5.50 m.) wide. Work began on the Jetty early in 1878, however the Engineer of Harbours and Jetties suspended the work due to the contractors, Wells Bros., erecting the jetty out of level and line. The contracto rs blamed these discrepancies on the plans that were supplied by the Government Architect and lodged a compensation claim for extra materials and additional work. Following a Royal Commission, headed by Sir Henry Ayers, it was found that the discrepancies were due to miscalculations on the part of Wells Bros. Their contract was revoked and the Government undertook to complete the Jet ty. The wo1~k l~esu•Y•ed in May, 1879 ancl aftf-.?l' changes and delays was finally completed in 1882. The 'T' section and a section of the Jetty was removed some years later and the present jetty is only 2,536 feet <733 metres) long. In 1974-75 there was a Government proposal to demolish the outer section of the Jetty, as it was considerec unsafe. This did not eventuate due to a public outcry .

Complex of three buildings and a well. Random rubble - stonework with timber above remaining openings. One building still retains a corrugated galvanized iron hipped roof and stone chimney. Another building has part of its wall cement rendered.

The Kangaroo Inn was built in the 1840's 'near the JUnction of the Robe to Penola road and the original overland track' (J.M. Berger). The inn never had a licence, but still traded in alcohol. The trade was good during the drainage operations of the 1860's and 1870' s , however it declined when a new road had linked Beachport with the Robe to Penola road and the Kintore Inn appeared at Furner. The Kangaroo Inn closed in 1886. An alternative account has the Kangaroo Inn operating from 1861-75 , begun by John McDonald and passing through the hands of Aaron Lane, John Mcintyre and J.T. White.

Total Approximate Area of Conservation Park - 82 hectares. Date of Establishment - 1973.

The construction of the Reedy Creek to Wilmot Drain has reduced the amount of wetlands along the course of the Reedy Creek. However, there are areas of remaining swampland scattered through the Reedy Creek Conservation Park. Along the bed of the Reedy Creek there exists remnants of an open forest of River Red Gums <Eucalyptus camaldulensis). Extensive areas of this park were burnt out during the bushfires of Ash Wednesday, 198:).
