Thank you to all the students and staff who helped make our 2019 Serve-A-Thon a success! It has been great to hear the stories of how our school served in and around the community. A total of $22,603.25 was raised for our Heart of Heritage Tuition Assistance Fund! We came in below our goal, but often people rise up after this fundraiser wanting to support Christian Education through donation. If you know of anyone, or if you yourself would still like to contribute to this cause, please get in touch with Sandra Weening-Pauling at 250-681-0142.
Stories that stood out f rom this year's Serve-A-Thon: We heard of how one of the major prize winners from last year had given their prize to another student! Families were intrigued by the bright orange coloured Grade 1 students greeting them with signs and songs some mornings as they served each other! Families collected recycling to increase the amount of money they raised - this was a service in many ways! Residents at several nursing homes enjoyed visits and crafts with our students! High School students did Spring clean up at Morning Star Bible Camp! One student received donations from 62 individual sponsors! A young male student insisted that the female students choose from the prize table before he did - great chivalry!
The following students received prizes for their Serve-A-Thon ef forts: Prize Pack 1 (Raised $50 or more): Micah Clarke, Nolan Hoffarth, Emily McComb, Raielle McComb, Olivia Akurienne, Aiden Burke, Quinton Geistlinger, Jaxson Marciski, Elena Tarasenco, Olivia Tarasenco.
Prize Pack 2 (Raised $100 or more): Cleo Haines, Lucas Simonson, Kate Kelly, Reed Simonson, Joel Simonson, Paige Kelly, Ellie Byron, Georgia Peters, Thea Roberge, Katie Cooper, Calleigh Cooper
Prize Pack 3 (Raised $200 or more): Judah Clarke, Levi Clarke, Joanne Robideau, Charlene Goodrich, Kacie MacLennan, Ella Bergin, Riley Keith, Macey Keith, Callum Verwoerd, Brynleigh MacLennan
Prize Pack 4 (Raised $400 or more): Grace Hilbert, Cali Chaput, Sherly Gom, Zoe Pauling, Kate Pauling, Jessica Pauling, Aaron Bitgood, Jachin Bitgood, Ethan Bitgood, Kaelynn Bitgood, Ethan Muriithi, Neema Muriithi, Austin Fulton
Thank you to all who served, collected donations, donated dollars, donated prizes and prayed for our school during the Serve-A-Thon!
