    The countdown for BhavansUpanishad Sandesha conferencehas begun. This six day conference willbe held in the Multi-Vision auditoriumat ISKCON, Bangalore on itspremises located on the Chord road,Rajajinagar.

    The conference, which will featureover 85 scholars from all over thecountry will be inaugurated by JusticeRamesha Chandra Lahoti, former ChiefJustice of India, Supreme Court ofIndia. Nadoja Dr. G. Venkatasubbaiah

    will be the chief guest and Sri MadhuPandit Dasa President of ISKCON,Bangalore will be the Guest ofHonour. During the inauguration,former Chief Justice of Punjab andHaryana High Court and formerGovernor of Bihar and Jarkhand,Justice Dr. M. Rama Jois will launchUpanishad Calendar.     Prof. RamasubramanianProfessor, Department ofHumanities and Social Sciences,IIT Mumbai, a noted Sanskritscholar, will deliver the key-noteaddress. He has been conferredthe Award of MaharshiBadarayan Vyas Samman inrecognition of his research.The award is given to youngscholars of Sanskrit, Pali/Prakrit,Arabic and Persian who havemade a breakthrough in theinterdisciplinary studies involvingcontribution of these languages orthe ancient Indian wisdom, to theprocess of synergy betweenmodernity and tradition.

    Prof. Ramasubramanian isone of the authors who preparedthe Explanatory Notes of thecelebrated work Ganita-yuktibhasha (Rationales inMathematical Astronomy) ofJyeshthadeva (c. 1530) which

    brings out the seminalcontributions of the KeralaSchool of astronomers andmathematicians in the field ofMathematical Analysis. Theyalso developed new models ofplanetary motion that gave acorrect account of the heliocentricmotion of the interior planets,Mercury and Venus, for the firsttime in the history of Astronomy.Prof. Ramasubramanian has alsocompleted a rigorous courseon Advaita Vedanta (a fourteensemester program) which fetchedhim the coveted of "VidvatPravara" from the JagadguruShankaracharya of Sri SringeriSharada Peetham.

Sri M came back fromHimalayas and spent considerableamount of time in RamakrishnaMission and KrishnamurtiFoundation. He started histeaching phase some years afterhis Master passed away.
