PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

HercuWall® is a panelized concrete composite wall framing system

designed and engineered to replace concrete block construction in

new residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. The Hercu-

Wall® system requires fewer components and combines many

steps—structure, insulation, vapor barrier, and mounting surfaces for

interior and exterior—into a one-step process.

Window and door openings are pre-

fabricated at the plant according to

plans. No field cutting or forming nec-

essary. This means that the openings will be accurate and square,

which will facilitate a fast and quality window and door installation.

HercuWall® is delivered to the job site as a kit of numbered panels,

pre-engineered, precut and

manufactured specifically to the

plans for each project, ready for

installation without modification

to original design.

INSTALLATION EFFICIENCY HercuWal l® is eas i ly insta l led by an a l ready avai lab le labor force in the const ruct ion indust ry , us ing bas ic const ruct ion too ls . Tra in ing is min i -mal , so there is no need for specia l -ized cont ractors wi th specia l ized too ls or heavy equipment .

Rather than one b lock at a t ime, i t ’s one panel a t a t ime.

A crew of four laborers can insta l l the HercuWal l® panels and pour the con-crete for an average 2,000 sq. / f t . house in approx imate ly s ix hours—

“...a 200% improvement utilizing Her-cuWall® over block...”

HercuWal l® wi l l substant ia l ly reduce the const ruct ion cyc le t ime in any pro ject .

ENERGY EFFICIENCY When combined wi th proper a t t ic in-su lat ion, windows, and HVAC equip-

ment , HercuWall’s® R-33 Insulation Value can help reduce energy costs from 40% to 70%. By reducing energy

consumpt ion and extending the l i fe

cyc le of a HercuWal l® house, Hercu-Wall® is contributing to the effort of reducing the global carbon foot print. Bui ld ings account for around 40% of f ina l energy used g lobal ly . Of th is , approx imate ly 90% is the energy used dur ing the i r l i fespan f rom oper-at ion. Only 10% accounts for mater i -a ls manufactur ing, t ranspor ta t ion, the actual const ruct ion and d ismant l ing.

ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY Less concrete, less rebar , less labor , less t ime to insta l l , no mater ia l waste, and smal ler HVAC uni ts (by as much as 50%) can only mean one th ing—

HercuWall® is more economical, and

th is is jus t a t the const ruct ion s tage.

The economic benef i ts o f HercuWal l® wi l l las t throughout the l i fespan of the bui ld ing.

STRUCTURAL EFFICIENCY Miami Dade County HVHZ (h igh ve-loc i ty hur r icane zone) acceptance is genera l ly cons idered the most r igor-ous of a l l product test ing and approv-a ls in the bui ld ing mater ia ls rea lm.

HercuWall® has obtained the Miami Dade County, Florida, NOA No. 12-0607.03. Expiration date: November 8, 2017 and Florida Product Approval. This was accompl ished us ing 90% less rebar re in forcement and 60% less concrete.

INNOVATION HercuWall® is an innovative building science that enables reinforced con-crete construction without costly conventional steel rebar reinforcing.

Shear Strip™ is HercuWall’s proprietary technology (U.S. and foreign patents pending) that al-

lows reinforced concrete construction without conventional steel rebar reinforcing. This is accom-

plished by creating a structural composite relationship between the concrete and the steel Shear-

Strips™, which are integral to the system. ShearStrips™ also provide mounting points for drywall,

cabinets, stucco, and siding products. In conventional reinforced

concrete construction, tension (pulling) forces are counteracted

by the steel rebar imbedded within the concrete. With Hercu-

Wall® the tension forces are counteracted by the ShearStrips™

which are partially embedded in the concrete. ShearStrips™ are

external to the concrete, and work with greater efficiency and

leverage than conventional reinforcing. ShearStrips™ yield high-

er strength with less concrete and more space for insulation.

HercuWall® is a Post and Beam system. This means that the walls

are not solid concrete, but rather, a series of columns with a bond

beam on top and a base beam at the bottom of the wall throughout

the perimeter of the building. The walls are designed to meet the

structural requirements of each project.

This also means that because there is a foam space between the

columns, the R-Value is much higher than most wall systems (R-33).

“…HercuWall® is manufactured in accordance with the design; the architect does not have to design in accordance with HercuWall®…”

INNOVATION

HercuWall® uses type II EPS (expanded polysty-

rene) for most of the foam parts of the kit. Type IX

EPS may also be used in special conditions as de-

termined by the design of the structure.

HercuWall® uses galvanized steel in several

areas of the kit. Some of these components

are structural, others help with the ease of in-

stallation, and others are fastening points for

finishes or other items related to the building

cycle. All steel used by HercuWall® is 24

gauge, G90 galvanized steel and complies

with ASTM A36 steel standard or better.

HercuWall® has been designed and tested to comply with the requirements of the Florida Building Code 2010 edition, including high velocity hurricane zone (HVHZ).

SUCCESFULLY TESTED FOR:

1. Air Infiltration, per FBC, TAS 202-94 2. Uniform Static Air Pressure Loading per FBC TAS 202-94 3. Water Resistance, per FBC TAS 202-94 4. Large Missile Impact per FBC, TAS 203-94 5. Cyclic Wind Pressure Loading per FBC, TAS 203-94
